On July 26, 2023, police in Coatesville, Pa., responded to a home where it was reported that a child was in cardiac arrest. The child, identified in an obituary as Hunter Hawa, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, the Chester County District Attorney’s Office says.

Investigators said the parents deliberately left deadly drugs out in the open.

In the affidavit obtained by Action News, Hawa said his son knew not to touch the drugs, calling them "daddy's medicine."

The charges come nearly a year after Hunter died. Investigators said it took time to gather all the evidence, including toxicology results, and discuss the case with experts.

In the time since their son's death, Hawa and Back started a 🤬🤬🤬 page soliciting donations in their son's name.

Magisterial District Judge Gregory Hines arraigned Back on Monday and set bail of $1 million. Her attorney did not respond to Inside Edition Digital.

Hawa does not have an attorney listed and was arraigned Tuesday. He was already being held in Chester County prison on unrelated charges, according to court documents.

They are due back in court later this month.

So, the parents were asking for donations in their son's name. Hoping that not one dime will go to either one of the parents. Grrrrr.
