My brother and I were abandoned by our birth mum. I was 3 , he was 10 days. She was a "dancer" at a dodgy club in Soho in the early 60s. She couldn't look after us, had no support/money. Now she is a wealthy German lady. We have met her. We were adopted into a terribly dysfunctional family. I hate to say it but I wish we could have been raised by her. She has more children and is a very good mother. I speak to her yearly

I believe that she was too young to be responsible for my brother and I

if she's a very good mother now, i am sure you are right, she was young, she made what she hoped was the best choice she could at the time. If you have met and talk yearly, you are not abandoned anymore. To bad about the dysfunctional family, i'm sure thats not what your mother hoped for you. cheers
