I wonder if it could be Lisa Rene Sprague: Lisa Rene Sprague – The Charley Project

Unfortunately there is painfully little information on her available. If you search her missing persons thread on websleuths someone found her daughter's ancestry.com page and posted a little information. It seems she was married and her married name was Williams. She was married at 15 and had a child a year later. It does not seem she raised the child. Also based on her birth records she was most like 18 when she disappeared, not 17. She was last season "autumn" of 1978.

She disappeared from California so she would have had to cross the country but I think it's very possible her marriage fell apart (and was quite possibly predatory or abusive given her age) and she left home. Maybe hitchhiked, which could have led to her death.

Her photo reminds me of both the NCMEC composite and the one Carl created. I doubt there any dentals so it would probably be very difficult to rule her out without contacting the child or a living relative and getting a DNA comparison with the Doe.

Lisa is on my list as well, along with many others. I think your theory is very plausible given her age regarding the marriage. It's so frustrating when there is so little information.

But I do think this is a very good one for comparison if there is enough information to include or exclude her. Might be worth someone attempting to get in touch with her daughter if possible.

Laurie Allison Smith The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) is high on my list as well.

I think it's incredibly likely she is not from the immediate area. Unless there is a specific reason she was not reported as a missing person (perhaps an immigrant, trafficked from another country, or an adult "runaway" ie: left an abusive relationship, etc.)

The jewelry is just so specific, I can't let it go. It had to belong to someone who is older or relatively well-off..

It would be great if one of the sketches included her outfit too. It is so specific/unique, I almost feel as though someone might recognize her. Is anyone good at that sort of thing? I do not have the software, but it doesn't seem as though it would be difficult to fashion an outfit with those clothing items, shoes and the jewelry?

I hope the Perry County Jane Doe is identified in 2023!

Just a random thought. Stones can signify one’s birth month. In Jane Doe’s case, turquoise is for December.

When someone has that many rule-outs, I tend to think that this was either a case where the deceased was never reported missing (due to the woman's age, possibly killed by her spouse) or she was reported missing and the report was lost.

Whats does everything think of the below possibility?:

Rebecca Jean Dunn. There are some definite similarities and the age, height and weight match even the hairline. She was living in Las Vegas and was last seen in California and was a prostitute. There is very little information on her apart from this. I just wanted to ask everyones opinions before I submit a match.

PERRY COUNTY JANE DOE: WF, 15-38, found near Newport, PA - 20 June 1979 XtgnsfF

Perry County Jane Doe is also known as the "Girl with the Turquoise Jewelry". Her skeletal remains were found on Rt. 322 Eastbound, along the side of the Juniata River, near Newport. Police hoped her clothing and unique turquoise jewelry would help them to quickly identify her, but she has remained nameless. Recent testing has indicated that she may have visited the Southwest in the months prior to her death which seems to match her turquoise jewelry. It is believed she grew up in the Great Lakes region or possibly southern Canada. A cause of death could not be determined.

Dianne Jane Carlson sounds like a reasonable candidate for this Jane Doe

From NamUs:
  • Height: 5'4" which only makes Dianne 2 inches shorter than Jane Doe
  • Weight: 125 lbs which is the exact weight NamUs recorded for Jane Doe
  • Hair color: Blond/Strawberry which is Jane Doe's hair color
  • Dianne was last seen wearing a brown jacket and Jane Doe had a tan (lighter shade of brown) Mushroom Black jacket/shirt
