Just watched the segment. Philadelphia police said DNA has helped them make tremendous progress on the case and they hope to identify him by the end of this year.

That's wonderful news!!

Head of Philly homicide says there are developments which may lead to his identity by the end of the year, sounds like DNA may have been helpful! NBC 10 usually posts links to the story, hopefully by the am. They interviewed founder of the Vidocq Society as well. So many want to give this boy his name back, fingers crossed!

Ohhh! This is exciting. As have become a lot of days as far as identifications are concerned.

Great news!

This poor boy is long overdue to be identified!

Reading in between the lines, it definitely seems like they could possibly know what family he likely belongs to now, and maybe are just waiting on the legal forensic confirmation. Exciting news!

Post from 31 Oct about the pending ID. @Identifinders anything to add?

Is ID imminent?

Anyone else watch the YT video where the ID of the Bibb County John Doe was announced? At the 59:15 minute mark Misty Gillis and Allison Peacock from Identifinders discuss which case announcements they have coming up. Allison mentions the "double duo" (UP701 and 703) and then says boy in the box isn't far away either.

I’m so glad he will be getting his name back. It will be interesting to see if Martha’s information is vindicated.

I think I will burst into tears if this boy gets his name back after all this time

If this kid gets identified this year, that means my top 3 pet cases (other two being Septic Tank Sam and Beth Doe) were all solved the same year.

Has anyone see MsSuzanne since June 2021? She has been a real warrior over the years for this case.

I thought of her as soon as I heard the update . She will be over the moon .

Hope she still visits here !

After listening to Dave Mittelman on YT w/Trisha tonight, I cant help but wonder if THIS could be the case Othram has been working on. If I understood correctly there will be an announcement on the Othram case on Fri (or Mon)... which means good news (someone has been identified) whether this case or another.

It sounds like it's Identifinders?

  • #259
It's possible that Othram did the DNA testing and Identifinders did the genealogy research. They are collaborating on the case of a Baby Doe found on the campus of Sam Houston State University.

I hope it is him. They also announced the solve as an "unsolved mystery" on social media. But can be anyone, the Mad Trapper or any other case theyre at
