Resolved PA - Philadelphia, WhtMale, Blk & Red flag tattoo, Jun'19 - Name withheld

The person appears to be either trans or non-binary and has an anarchist tattoo as well. Because of those things, I don't think the hammer tattoo is because of a white supremacist group.
How do you know this person is trans or non binary? If you are concluding that due to the clothing they were found in, isn’t it a possibility that this person was killed by a rival group and dressed them in a dress to humiliate them.

There are a large number of trans and non-binary anarchists. Wearing a dress would not be humiliating. I think the scenario you described is unlikely.

yes maybe as an anarchist, but not necessarily if he was part of a white supremacist group, which by the way have shown a very large increase of members of at least shown publicly here in Philly recently

What did you see with this man that connected as a possible match?

Off course this John Doe could be from anywhere, not even listed as a missing person, but just to start somewhere. It's the outcome of a selection process from listed Caucasian males missing from Philadelphia (query on Charley Project) with brown hair. It's mostly done by ruling out who definitely couldn't be this UID because of certain tattoos, to old, to young, different hair color, already gray hair or straight hair etc. Leaving a few possibilities. John Mann fits in the general description and from this selection the most suitable.

Met a true anarchist years and years ago, and learned that his world was made up of small group of trusted friends and chock full of paranoia. It is likely this UID had very little to do with anyone outside the anarchist circle. Also, he was likely clothed in a dress, because it was comfortable. Dress codes, like any other codes, are another form of subversion of individuality by authority.

You putting my thoughts nicely into words. "🤬🤬🤬" them, I do what I like...and besides that yes, totally, a dress is comfortable. This man was found in june (decomposed) though had a thermal-style pants on. Could this be of any significance in the sense, that it was colder (early spring for instance) when he fell, jumped or pushed into the river?

It wouldn't surprise me if he was associated with the occupy movement, who also use the anarchist symbols.

True... I guess it’s really a matter of ones interpretation of “dress”

According to this link: Anarcho-Syndicalism that particular flag was used in London, Istanbul, Irkutsk, St Petersburg, and Ufa in 2009 in relation to protests against the G20 summit. it was more recently seen in Ankara, Turkey in 2013 tied to more demonstrations.

Perhaps this individual is from Europe somewhere and was just here visiting/protesting something. Not sure if any of that is helpful, but there it is.

He has been identified.
I very highly doubt that he was an anarchist. A bit of a rebellious type but not an anarchist.
He was 20 years old. He was from NJ and lived in PA.
I believe they got the flag colors wrong but the double hammer was correct.
His body was badly decomposed because of the water and time frame so that is probably why the age was way off.

Do you have a link for that? I haven't seen anything in the media stating that he'd been ID'd. As of right now, he's still on NamUs.

I have friends in the gayborhood in Philly. I'll have them ask around.

Ouch. Please understand that this sentiment can be offensive. That is like saying "I'll ask my Jewish friends" when a Jewish person is missing, or "I'll ask my brown friends" when a brown person is missing.

Saying you'll ask friends who live in the area is enough. I know your sentiment was genuine.

Thank you for your reply, @KaylaraOwl.

Respectfully, so am I. =) And perhaps older that you? Maybe that is why it was a little ouchie? After so much fighting for liberation and equality back in the day, it's sad to still see so much of "us" and "them"... human community, it's all one.

He is my family.

So very very sad that it took so long to identify him. Please tell us more about him if you'd like. We'll need a link to a mainstream media story confirming his identity, but you are more than welcome to share here... sometimes that brings a bit of peace for some, to celebrate the very best in someone, the silliest, the most special thing, what you recall most... Some of us certainly adore those rebellious souls that dance among us...
