Police chief and his friend 'raped a girl hundreds of times over 7 years starting when she was 4' | Daily Mail Online

A small Pennsylvania town police chief and his friend were charged with raping a child hundreds of times over a seven-year period when they were teenagers starting when the girl was 4 years old, state prosecutors said Wednesday.

Brent Getz, 27, was arrested and charged Tuesday along with Gregory Wagner, 28.

The alleged victim said both men sexually assaulted her, often at the same time, from 2005 to 2012.

The investigation began in 2012 when the child, who was 12 at the time, reported Wagner had been assaulting her, prosecutors said.

No charges were filed following an investigation.

Three years later, a criminal complaint was prepared charging Wagner but it was dismissed due to a paperwork error.

Charges were never refiled.

In August, a police officer revisited the case. It was then the victim said Getz also sexually abused her.

Wagner admitted he and Getz sexually abused the girl together, prosecutors said. Attorney information for either man could not be found in court documents.

Both men remain jailed. Messages could not be left with phone numbers found for Getz and Wagner.

The victim said she was sexually assaulted hundreds of times between the ages of 4 and 11, both by Wagner and Getz.

She said Wagner made her watch 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 with him. The attorney general's office did not disclose how the men knew the child.

This poor girl has waited all these years for justice all because the adults in charge couldn’t get paperwork together or a proper investigation going? Her entire childhood she suffered at the hands of these two creeps. She confided in a teacher. Where were the parents to support her & advocate for her? Was Children’s Services involved? Heartbreaking what happens to child victims at the hands of so called adults.

I hope this is well advertised, and these 2 Creeps (if allegations are proven to be correct) are publicly humiliated.
Their time in prison will be well earned Justice, as they will be at the bottom of the totem pole.
MOO.

OMG, this poor girl has got to be severely scarred from this. She'll never recover from it. The only hope she has is learning how to live with what was done to done to her and a system that failed her for so long.

He doesn’t look like your typical police chief. It would be interesting to learn the backstory of his hiring.

And he's awfully darn young to be hired as chief of a PD.

How horrific!
Police chief? Was that some sort of play acting title?

How is this not bigger news? This is outrageous. There needs to be an investigation by an external agency.

Attorney General Josh Shapiro Announces Arrests of Two Carbon County Men, Including Weissport Police Chief, for Child Rape

Weissport Police Chief Brent Getz and Gregory Wagner Sexually Assaulted Young Victim Hundreds of Times over Seven Years

HARRISBURG — Attorney General Shapiro today announced the arrests of two Carbon County men for child rape. Weissport Chief of Police Brent Getz, 27, and Gregory Wagner, 28, both of Lehighton, PA, were charged on Tuesday with Rape of Child, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with a Child, Aggravated Indecent Assault of Child, and several related charges.

This investigation began in May 2012 when the victim, then 12-years-old, reported to a substitute teacher that Gregory Wagner, then 22-years-old, was sexually assaulting her. The teacher reported it to the Franklin Township Police Department and, after an investigation, no charges were filed at that time.

In 2015, the case was reassigned and police prepared a criminal complaint charging Wagner with various crimes. The complaint was rejected by the Magisterial District Judge due to a paperwork error. The charges were never refiled.

In August 2018, a Franklin Township Police Officer revisited the case and asked the victim to come back in for an interview. At this time, the victim also disclosed that Brent Getz, who was Wagner’s friend, had sexually assaulted her too. Getz is now the Chief of Police in Weissport, Carbon County.

The victim revealed that, consistent with her prior disclosures and examinations, from age 4-11 she was orally, vaginally, and anally raped by Wagner. She reported that Getz would also join in these assaults. Additionally, she said that Wagner often made her watch 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 with him, which she recalled depicted teenagers.

“The defendants terrorized this young victim by assaulting her hundreds of times over seven years,” said Attorney General Josh Shapiro. “My Office will listen to survivors and prosecute anyone who sexually abuses children to the fullest extent of the law we are able—no matter how much time has passed. I’m grateful for the work of my agents to bring these predators to justice and prevent them from harming anyone else.”

Agents executed a search warrant of Wagner’s residence on March 26, 2019. They located numerous electronic devices, including his cell phone, which contained Google searches of terms which are indicative of child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Wagner was interviewed and admitted to sexually abusing the victim over the course of several years. He also admitted that Getz sexually abused the victim and that they would do so together.

The case of Brent Getz was referred to the Office of Attorney General by Carbon County District Attorney Jean Engler because Getz was a police officer employed or formerly employed at several police departments in Carbon County. The case of Gregory Wagner was also referred to the Office of Attorney General. The case is being prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Rebecca Elo.
