CheerZilla strikes again. Feel like we're likely to see more deepfake crimes as the tech goes more and more mainstream.

This one is wild. What is it with cheerleader moms? Lol.

Bat pooh crazy loop.

From Coco's link it says her daughter's rivals. How are they rivals if they're on the same team? Actually this is a gym so perhaps they cheer only for competition? Personally I do see it as a sport in itself.

Mom's? I loved cheerleading. My mom looked at it as a waste of time because it could never lead to a career. Oh and reminded me it's not a talent. Today, it's huge and definitely you need skills big time. Heck, it had whackadoodle there to commit a crime.

For what it’s worth, this crime occurred in a very wealthy area where “helicopter parenting” (and parental over-investment in their children’s lives) is pretty much the norm. IMO, it is sad that this mother didn’t think highly enough of her daughter’s talents to believe she would merit a central role on the squad without her mother trying to kneecap (sorry, wrong sport!!) the competition by creating these deepfakes.
Also, and against my better impulses, I have to admit that I am somewhat impressed that this woman knew how to create these apparently very authentic-looking photos—I ignorantly assumed that was the purview of much younger and more tech-savvy folks!

Yes, I am suspicious of that. Have you seen mum's photo?

There was such competition to get on the team and stay on the team at my daughters' high school...I was shocked. I was encouraging my daughter and watching her practice at home (despite no real enthusiasm for cheerleading) and I thought she was pretty good.

But the other girls had all been to cheerleading camps for several years, every summer, and their moms were so focused and taking them to regular competitions (not at the school - just regionally). I had no idea...

You're a wonderful mom supporting your daughter.

Indeed I've heard it is really competitive these days. Although I didn't think to a level a mother would go to such drastic measures like this woman.

What confused me was that it's an actual gym as opposed to like your daughter at school cheering for a team. That used to be the point. Albeit in it's own right it is a sport. My friend is up in Doylestown I'll have to ask her about it.

Back in the day camps were fun. Competitions alot of work, but also fun. I cheered from 4th grade for local park football. All through 7th and 8th grade then my entire years in high school. There was some very minor jealousy situations, but none of this. Sounds like mean dance mom's or mean pageant mom's.

Hoping your daughter succeeds at whatever she enjoys most. With you on her side she is bound to.

That lady is.......V-I-C-I-O-U-S yes she's vicious!!!!! Had to do that old cheer.

She probably paid someone to do the photos and that may have been how she was caught.

Gotta do things yourself.

Actually I didn't think Doylestown was all that upscale. I know their taxes are very high. Lovely area.
