Name - Randall 'Randy' B. Brosius (Missing Person Case)

Last Seen - 01/21/1977

Missing From - Williamstown, Pennsylvania

Age - 22

Race - White

Sex - Male

Hair Color -
Dark Brown (collar length)

Eye Color - Blue

Height - 66

Weight - 140

Medical Details - Diabetic, reliant on insulin which was not taken with him after his disappearance. Walks with a limp, due to eighteen fractures present in one leg resulting from a car accident. Scar from chest to groin. Scar from below right knee to mid thigh. Mangled finger on one hand. Wears a moustache.

Clothing -
Black Navy pea coat, Wellington boots with zippers and jeans.

Circumstances - The MP was last seen driving eastward on Route 209, having departed the parking lot of Mace's Blue Fountain Motel in Williamstown. He was with two companions at the time, both of whom were later located in Cocoa, Florida. He has never been seen or heard from again.

Prior to his disappearance, his mother had received a series of threatening phone calls in December regarding his apparent involvement in a drug deal. This led her to believe that her son had been kidnapped.

On a separate note, apparently a case file and an attached photograph were distributed to police authorities around the country. I haven't seen this image, but from memory there might have been a photograph of him in a yearbook for Tri-Valley Junior/Senior High School?

Your memory is very accurate re: the yearbook. Just curious, what's the source for the circumstances? The NamUs page is very sparse.

There was barely any information on the NamUs page, so I went digging in the archives of The Daily Item, which is the newspaper for Sunbury, PA. Sorry for not posting that earlier (meant to attach a note about where I'd taken that information from at the bottom of the page) and thank you for taking that photograph from the yearbook.

On a quick side note, the photograph from the yearbook may or may not be an accurate depiction of him at the time of his disappearance. In addition to the age gap, he was in a car accident at the age of nineteen, and I'm not sure how this might have altered his physical appearance in addition to the listed medical details.

This is my uncle! I didn't read all of your posts yet because I am breathless right now. A few years ago, my nephew of the same name ran away from home and I came across his NAMUS profile. I've been doing online searches for years, different unidentified body sites, posts to local FB groups. I haven't made it as far as the local libraries. My dad is the oldest of the 3 Brosius boys and it's never been something he talks about. I didn't know how to tell my dad the case was reopened. When I told him, he let me know that a State Trooper came to speak with him and got his DNA.

He had longer hair when he disappeared. I will talk to my dad about getting some of his photos to share. I just asked my grandmother yesterday, not his mother, what she remembered. She said the only thing she ever heard was about a local man who was in the Navy and he reported to "someone" he saw Randy in San Diego or San Francisco and he was told to not talk about him. Rumor mill? Idk, the sailors last name was Nunley. I tried searching for a local Nunley this am. This is surreal right now. He went missing 6 months before I was born. Thank you for this and for remembering him.

Before I say anything else, I just wanted to express my utmost sympathy to you and your family. I've been looking at his case for a while, and I didn't initially register the connection in terms of relation between the 1977 and 2015 disappearances. I am sincerely sorry that you have had to go through this, because no one deserves to have to an endure an experience like this.

Thank you so much for reaching out and sharing this information with us, and for trying to obtain some of those photographs. One of the recurrent problems with cases that initially have a minimal amount of information is that they often hit a wall, but I hope you are able to find reassurance and consolation in the fact that myself and other people here at Websleuths have never forgotten him.

I suspect that you probably know more about this case than me, but I will attach one of the newspaper articles I have found at the bottom of the page. I don't know if you've already seen it, but hopefully it is able to assist with some of your inquiries.

If any of the information that I've written above on the first post about the case is incorrect or inaccurate, please let me know and I will change it. In the meantime, I will keep trying to glean information from across the Internet in the hope that we can solve this case and provide some closure for your family. Thanks again for your previous posts.

Thank you. It is definitely worth a shot. I sent an email to the Canadian email address and attached his picture and the charleyproject.org link. It's just so mind blowing to me that for years I couldn't find anything and now I have found this site as well as some others that give me some hope.

This website, Randall B. Brosius – The Charley Project has some great info, I feel.
I'm going to grow a set and talk to my dad about all of this tomorrow. I feel like my dad will tell me to just let sleeping dogs lie. I hope not, that would be kind of soul crushing. I am on a mission now. It's been 42 years that he has been missing. I don't know how the the rest of the family would feel, but I just want to know. No retribution needed, just answers. I kind of feel that it's weird that I am so hellbent on this when I never had the opportunity to know him but...he needs a voice and justice and I just hope I can be that for him.

Randall B. Brosius – The Charley Project

Brosius was last seen in Valley View, Pennsylvania on January 21, 1977. He left Mace's Fountain Blue Motel with Kenneth H. Lenker and Richard Green, both Florida residents, and they were seen driving east on Route 209 He has never been heard from again. He lived in the 1800 block of west Main Street at the time of his disappearance.

At Christmas in 1976, Brosius's parents got threatening phone calls. The caller demanding $500 because of Brosius's alleged role in a major marijuana dealer, and threatened to cut off parts of Brosius's body and mail them to his parents if they didn't pay within an hour. Brosius's mother got $500 and tried to deliver it to the designated spot in Williamstown, Pennsylvania, but found no one there. His mother thinks he may have been abducted after he contacted the caller to straighten out the situation.

According to Brosius's parents, he knew Lenker and Green but didn't think of them as friends. His mother doesn't believe he was involved with drugs at the time of his disappearance, although she admits he had been at one time.

Police located both men in Florida almost a month after Brosius's disappearance, but no arrests were made. Brosius's disappearance remains unsolved and foul play is suspected.

I talked to my dad and he gave me his blessing to keep on going with this. I emailed 2 private investigators last night. My thought is they may be able to gain access to things I can't. This part kills me, I'm a nurse, I'm used to combing through charts and making sense of things. I can't do that and I feel rather helpless.
In what little bit I did read online, albeit so amazingly helpful, so many of the things didn't quite add up and left me thinking it was so very poorly handled. My dad confirmed that. Randy reached out to law enforcement over a major drug situation and it almost seems that they fed him to the wolves. My dad and grandfather were present when the "meetup" took place, along with a state trooper. My dad said watching them speed off with Randy in the back was the last he was seen. He and my pap chased them but they had a head start and it was further compounded by the state trooper insisting my dad put his weapon away. He had and still has his permit and he said he regrets not just shooting at the car. I asked my dad if he thought that Randy was scared and he said No, he could give him that, he wasn't afraid. He went to that meetup with only a pocketknife and fake money. I guess he thought the good guys were going to hold up their end. I asked my dad and his surviving brother what they would like from this. Is knowing enough or do they need retribution. Coincidentally, one of the men involved, who wasn't named anywhere that I saw yet, was working on the furnace at my great grandmothers house a few months after Randy disappeared and my dad verbally went after him. That person still lives in this area.

I told my dad about this and showed him both pictures and he said no, it's definitely not him. RIP Unknown Rider

I have created a Facebook page. I also reached out to a gentleman with the same name as one of the people he was involved with but it wasn't him. He did let me know of who it could possibly be.

Do you think the state police will speak to me about his cold case?

Would you be willing to share this on your page or know
My uncle went missing from outside of Maces Blue Fountain Tavern in Williamstown in 1977. He was with Kenny Lenker (deceased) from Orwin and a Richard "Dick" Green, believed to be from Ohio. Some others involved were a Stephen Westman (deceased), Bruce St Pierre (unsure of spelling) and Tim Adam's, who I believe is still in the area. Somebody knows something after all of these years.
