Interesting developments ....as soon as I read this latest news checked here to see what you had written J.J. Appreciated your blog and thoughts!

Just saw the news about case assignment to PSP, and of course "Sporadic" on Centre Daily Times was my first stop on the news. Glad this has come about, to rekindle things. Just hope there is some transparency. In any regard, best regards to all...hope there is resolution...after all this time. Good to be back.

A warm welcome to you, L.C.. Your comments and thoughts about what happened to Ray have been missed. :)
I hope you can stay " around" and post with us. :loveyou:

I just saw the news that the case has been handed off to the PSP. All I can say is, "What took so long???"...that, and hello, everyone!

Very good to hear from you, your lordship. :)

You might want to look at some of the financial stuff on this thread.

Good to see you as well. :)

The PSP had provided some support previously. Their Criminal Investigation Analysis (PSP-CIA) unit had reviewed the case in 2006.

I've seen some confusion elsewhere, but the AG's Office is not the lead agency here. They have separate investigators, though they often work with the PSP, as in the Sandusky case.

There are certain legal requirements for sending the case to the AG's Office, and those were not invoked.

With the unrest in Ukraine, I would note that this was one possible location for RFG.

I've been thinking about that too, J.J..

I don't know what the truth is about his disappearance, but have hoped, beyond reason, that he is alive and well. If he did leave the country for his own reasons, I pray that he is safe and stays safe. I know you do, too.

I did check last night. There was a Ukrainian consulate within about 10 miles of Southfield, MI. It is not as close as Macedonian consulate, but it is close.

https://www.crimewatchpa.com/crimes...ar-missing-person-bellefonte-centre-county-pa

The above site seems to be, at this point, a joint venture between various LE agencies, including the Pennsylvania State Police. However, it is probably administrated by volunteers, as it is a non-profit organization according to the " About" section.

Please note that IF this site contains updated material from the PSP, which it works closely with, apparently, then there may be confirmation that Ray DID have known plans to go to Lewisburg to go to antique shops. The narrative about his Missing case states this as fact, not conjecture. If it is NOT factual, then the agency should insert the words " It is believed", or " Witness accounts relate", etc..

It is a good development because:

1. It gives the case more PR.

2. They mentioned a possible reward, which could help shake someone loose.

Did I miss something? Just saw on the Crime Stoppers link that Ms.Jana posted...that Ray has two a.k.a. names, Ray Lange and Ray Gray.
That's news to me, but perhaps I missed that throughout the years.
Sidenote: Admittedly having an aka isn't necessarily indicative of something improper. I'm not suggesting that ...only surprised that I never read that before

The AKA's are because he had joint accounts in the past with his then wives. They are the maiden names of both wives.

With everything going down in the Ukraine I can't imagine RG living there. But then I am one who never believed he would walk away from those he loved and hurt them. I would want him to be alive. I just don't think he is....JMO

There are potentially a number of reasons.

People do spend money, however we have these descriptions of RFG as "frugal."

We also don't have a lot of tangible property that RFG spent his money on since 2001. We have a car that was probably between $16 K and $23 K, a house that would probably below $53 K and a desktop computer (probably less than $2 K).

We do know that a guy grossing in excess of $115 K each year for 4 years, had less than $100 K in assets.

That also assumes that RFG was broke after his divorce, and there is no indication that he was.

People think I am frugal! I am on certain things but like RG I go for antiques and spent a fortune on antiques and jewelry when I had a well paying job and when I had a physician husband. Yeah I wore a diamond crusted rolex that was hidden underneath my shirt sleeves and carried a LV handbag that most people thought was a knockoff. My point being that if RG saved...how much could he have had? Why would he leave? He wasn't running away from a nagging wife and a house full of wayward teens. If he wanted to go..ok he could have waited a few months and taken himself AND his pension and gone anywhere he wanted. He worked for that.

It wasn't like that in 2005. :)

Possibly several $100 K. This is a man that grossing for than $100 K each year since 1997. He was divorced during that period, but the assets were split equitably. Further, his ex-wife (EG) worked as an optician, so that would count. Also, his assets did increase in value during the marriage.

People in the pension system are required to provide an address, so his whereabouts would be known. Also, my understanding of the pension is, if he would retire and die, his heirs would get substantially less. If he died without collecting any, his heirs would get a substantial amount more than if he retired and disappeared.

There are many possible motives for voluntary departure. If he had money in a foreign account, he might not have been able to retrieve it after 9/11.

Yes, you have to give an address to the pension system but it is not public information. If he thought so little of PEF and his daughter to walk off why would he care about leaving an address with the pension system? I am permitted one or two people to get my pension when I am gone and they will get 100% of it, by that I mean they will get a certain payment every month for life.

Actually, it is public information with an exception for protection from abuse orders. RFG would care, if he did not want to be traced. He, presumably, would not tell PEF or LG because he knew they would have to testify and didn't want to put them in the position of perjuring themselves.

Actually, the pay out is larger for someone who dies without collecting.

Fincanially, there would be some logic in walking away or committing suicide.

If he walked away why would he give up a nice pension just because someone could trace him? Like I said he was not abandoning a nagging wife and a house full of kids he needed to support. It is not a crime to walk away. RG's daughter was grown and can make her own way. I doubt she'd rather have his benefits than a relationship with him. Actually I never thought suicide before but I think homicide or suicide much more likely than walk away. for what its worth my pension information is not public record. If I did something illegal certainly it could be obtained but not just anyone could walk in there and get the information. After I'm gone, yes.
