Ok, I am 5'6, average height for a woman, but probably stronger than the average woman. I could easily throw it the same distance as JJ, 6-8 feet, but I would worry about accuracy. We women over 35 didn't grow up necessarily all playing sports, although a good percentage do nowadays. I am not super coordinated, and my throw might be off the target. I would be afraid of throwing it from a moving car and 'missing'. I would be inclined to either bring someone else with me to do the drop or else quickly pull over and get out to toss it overboard.

It is not really a question of accuracy. You can lay the far part of the laptop on the edge of the window frame and toss it slightly upward. It will easily clear a 32-34 inch barrier, and that is all that it has to do. You are not trying to hit a specific point in the river, just clear that barrier.

Wow...great stuff. Ok...now let me ask you. What if you had been in the passenger seat ? What about you leaving your 'butt' prints (sorry, no harm intended here). Do you think that would have, could have happened ? Footprints of some kind...carpet imprints, not necessarily dirty, too.
What do you think ?

Love the female perspective here !!!

Butt prints are possible, lol. I have some particular jeans that have a rivet on the pocket and they leave a print on the seat.

As for shoes, I would think that a women's shoe print would be distinctive if she had on something other than tennis shoes. Heels and such throw the balance forward, so more weight is placed on the ball of the shoe and to me this would increase the likelihood of leaving indentions/markings with your shoes. Even a small heel would increase this...it doesn't have to be a high heel type shoe. I have a pair of slip on mules, very casual, that have a small heel and I notice they leave more imprints that my flip flops or tennis shoes.

I tend to think that if a woman were involved she wouldn't be wearing overly casual shoes. I lived in the very general region for about a year, and I was shocked at how dressed up everyone always was. Maybe they weren't totally dressed to the nines, but for a southern girl it was overkill. I often felt very out of place in clothes/shoes that would have been considered normal and nice back in the south. I don't see Mrs. X wearing tennis shoes or flip flops, especially considering that in addition to the fashion sense up north it was also still cool at this time of year.

Fair enough..I would still worry because I am not athletically talented, lol. If it can be messed up, I would mess it up on a throw.

Good question and good answer regarding the wireless issue. I was thinking about this one earlier and going to comment but didn't get around to it.

I used to have a gov't-issued laptop (within last 5 yrs) and it did not have wireless - furthermore, at least for part of the time I used it, it could only connect to the internet via my wired connection at work. Not at home. It was designed only to connect via the work network for security reasons. That was also why it did not have wireless. Now, I have no idea about the computers in the DA's office, but just thought I'd share my particular experience. Even if these security limitations were not in place, if RFG was semi-technologically challenged (read that somewhere), he might not have been able to set up the laptop internet connection from home, esp back in 2004-2005 when those things were a little harder than they are today.

Plus, we don't know how much law enforcement knows regarding his computer activities that they simply haven't released. We might only have a little bit.

I have my old computer, the one with intact drive, sitting next to my current one. I know what a hassle it is just to reconnect.

From the descriptions of using the laptop previously as a home computer, and taking it to conferences, I think it probably could have used the Internet from home.

You could probably beet me in a fight! :) I'm not in good shape.

Really, the only obstacles are hitting the window frame, if you throw it, and having it clearing the barrier. If you already have it part of the way out of the window, that is no longer an obstacle.

Did some digging night before last, and I came up with two cases that interested me on the Doe Network. I know the height is just a little short on one, but if you just have a skeleton I would think it's possible to be off 2 inches. Let me know what you think. I am looking at all the white males with a listed age of about 45 upwards.

The clothing on this one made me think of Ray; it isn't what he had on when he went missing, just his style in my opinion:http://doenetwork.org/hot/hotcase1712.html

The physical details all seemed to fit for this one:

Excellent ! Now I wonder if the Mini (if that was the that was used) would have left clues as to a passenger having been in that seat. Not talking of the ciggie ashes so much...footprints, cheek prints (lol)...and the like.

Good clear, and good criminal mind thinking, Maxim ! :)
BTW: how did the cookies turn out ?

TY. Why no shed hair evidence if blonde, or another, was in the mini?

Which brings up: Sightings of possibly two women (one dark-haired, one blonde) could it have been the same female with wig, or wigs?

At least 10 doz. cookies and unfortunately there was some breakage (LOL) which enabled the taste-tester to judge the quality--over, and over again.

I am looking through NamUs cases, and on many of them it lists decedents who have been ruled out as being the UID. Many of these are cases where the demographics match those of RG's and the body is in a state where just looking at it physically would be impossible to rule him out. I have yet though to come across a case where he is one of the decedents that have been ruled out. What gives?

Again, if I were missing someone I would be contacting LE about each potential match and asking them for an exclusion check. I would drive them crazy, but no one would be able to say I didn't want my loved one to be found.

Broken cookies are still delicious. :)

I had someone suggest that "Blondie" was the LMW in a wig as well. I'm really not too sure if IB actually saw RFG.

Height is 4" shorter. (He's shorter than me.)

Possible. Age and height are right. The body was close to the NC border, but the body of a woman who disappeared in Phila turned up even further south.

I tried what you are trying once. There were some "possibles."

Yes, and if Monte isn't up to your liking, then perhaps:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MK6TXMsvgQg

I have a paperweight that I refer to as "The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch." Does that answer your question? :)

I'm not a big fan of Brian, but Monty Python and the Holy Grail is uproarious; "I don't want to be rescued." Favorite episode of the series was "The Buzz Aldrin Show." :)

I've wondered if "Blondie" could be a mystery man..out to do harm disguised as a woman. If you were going to dress up as a woman, why not go over the top with big, blond hair?

LMW was not, from the description. I'm not comfortable with the IB sighting. Too many unknown variables.

I'm not letting location sway me. My thoughts are 'why wouldn't someone dump the body as far away from the disappearance scene as possible'? I know that would increase risks, but to me it seems likely.

An interesting idea!

BTW, on case 1712:
Est. range date of death was 3-5 years. RG had only been missing for 20.5 *months*(approx.) by Jan '07. Shoe size would indicate the victim could have been taller.

In DOE lingo, does partial skeleton mean not fully decomposed or not a complete skeleton. I'd go with the latter, but do you know?
