PA - Ricardo Munoz, 27, fatally shot by police, Lancaster City, 13 Sept 2020

  • #21
Nobody wins when the only way to deal with someone who is mentally ill, is to shoot him. I am not saying the police were wrong, because that is what they do when someone runs at them with a knife, especially someone who the police know has attacked with a knife before. I am pretty sure the police officer isn’t congratulating himself for winning. Actually, I bet he feels terrible.

I saw the Wallace case. The officers didn’t have many options. I don’t know what the answer is if there is a very violent person with mental health issues. I do know the police should not be expected to allow themselves to be stabbed.
I feel badly for his family, especially his mama. I just don’t see how they can fault the police. I feel horrible for those officers! They did not go to that call thinking they would have to end a life.
As for the looting, rioting, and burning things down that is just disgusting. It needs to be dealt with strongly. It needs to be stopped.

Do not want to derail thread, but those obviously young cops have no mace. No nightstick.

Protest peacefully fine. However looting, and blowing up ATMS? And in real life adult world it isn't deviding races. We were all stuck today in the supermarket, trying to get insulin for loved ones. No Walmart. Whole neighborhoods including roosting fortified.

There's bad apples in every group including cops, but bringing in paid anarchists is gonna take my old butt out to protest them.
