Did anyone go to the vigil? The news said that new information would be released at the vigil. Anyone have any idea what the "new information" was?

I haven't been checking in at this forum often lately, so I just realized there was a vigil when I saw an article about it. I'm sorry that I missed it - again.

Just wanted to add a *bump* here.

:( I can't believe they haven't been found yet. How thorough a search was done of the waterways they would have crossed on their way home to NJ? Could they have taken an alternate route that night, that would have taken them across some old unsafe bridge?

Was Danielle maybe breaking up with Richard, and there could've been a murder/suicide scenario by driving into a river or lake?

Their vehicle could not just disappear into thin air.

All of the ways into Jersey from Philly (at least in the vicinity in which they were driving and maybe altogether), are by big bridges. All but one of them in the general area probably qualify as very big bridges. I don't know if all of them are monitored by video but from what I remember hearing, LE had made a statement a while back about their car not being seen crossing any of the bridges that night. So the bottom line, IMO, is that if all of the bridges are monitored, they never made it to a bridge. If they aren't monitored, they might have made it to a bridge but could not have gone into the water without being noticed. I can't even think of a spot where that might be possible without them damaging a fence or a guard rail, etc. But I could be wrong.

Half an hour north of Philly is a free bridge into Trenton that is (1) small, and (2) as far as I know, unmonitored. Its called the "Trenton Makes" bridge, based on the words "Trenton Makes, the World Takes" on the bridge. North of that bridge are several other very small, non toll, non monitored bridges between PA and NJ. The car very easily could have simply traveled North and crossed any of those bridges.

It seems more likely to me, however, that the easiest thing would be to simply drive east into a deserted remote area...

And, on second thought, some of those bridges don't have the best guardrails... and its unlikely the local authorities would have noticed if a guardrail was damaged. Plus, the farther up the delaware you go, the deeper it gets and the faster the current is. Still, you'd think the car would've been spotted at low tide eventually...

This is why I said that the bridges are big in the vicinity in which they were driving. There might be many bridges that one could take into Jersey but the reality is that if they were indeed on their way to Danielle's home that night, they would not have driven 1/2 hour north of Philly to take a small bridge into Trenton and then drive 25-40 minutes back to Mount Laurel. They could have taken the Besty Ross Bridge or the Ben Franklin Bridge and made it from Philly to Mount Laurel in 20 minutes. And if they were really just going to go back to her house, and took one of the logical bridges, their car would have been seen on surveillance and any guard rail/fence damage would have been noticed. The guardrails on these big bridges are very good.

Hey Jersey Girl,

It has been awhile since I posted. My life got a bit turned upside down. But sad to say, still no news on Richard and Danielle. The Feds are still investigating, but.. are reluctant to share what they know. They are on to something... but

Thanks for the prayers.

I am praying this is not Richard or Danielle:

A human body was found in a shallow grave in the New Jersey Pinelands.

The body was discovered in Brendan Byrne State Forest in Woodland Township, in Eastern Burlington County.

Investigators hope an autopsy scheduled for Tuesday will determine how the person was killed. Police don't know how long the person has been dead or even if it was a man or a woman.

Any other news? The height and clothing seem to match Danielle. I am not finding anything but that one article.

They are already finished the autopsy, wtg findings to be released:

Cops think they can ID body-SNIPS FROM ARTICLE

Authorities apparently suspect they know the identity of a woman whose badly decomposed body was found Monday in a state forest in the Jersey Pine Barrens.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. Stephen Jones said that investigators "feel with some of the evidence collected" yesterday at the shallow gravesite, where the body was found, that they will be able to make an identification "fairly quickly."

A state police forensic anthropologist was expected to examine the body today and possibly determine the woman's race, Jones said.

Only a scant description of the woman - 5 feet 4, wearing a white tank top and blue jeans - was given by authorities yesterday.

Sounds like maybe an ID was found with the body....

The only thing that makes me hesitate to think its Danielle is that the body was alone. If it is Danielle, then maybe I was right in suggesting that the perps took her over a Trenton bridge (without video) - which would lead to the burlington county pinelands burial. However, where is Rich? I can't believe someone would bury her in one place and Rich far away. Unless, of course, this was planned in detail long before their disappearance.

  • #379
I think it was planned and the exhusband did it...he had threatened her before.................

  • #380
Rich could be buried somewhere close by.

I guess there's nothing real for us to speculate about until the identity is announced.

I just can't get over that the area is right near where Routes 70 and 72 intersect - one of them being a route to the ex-husband's town.
