Crews search for missing Lackawanna County man at Brady's Lake

Video at the link above, including statements from his daughter and son. They give some details on his health status. They think that Ronald went for a long walk with his dog, a black and white Blue Heeler named Coal, which is also missing.

Search for him was stopped yesterday evening, but will continue today.

Another news video featuring his children:

His truck is shown in the video and description of his dog is given. Apparently there's another video of him entering the lake's parking lot on Monday at 4pm. He is known to take walks by himself. He needs (unspecified) daily medication.

Update: Missing Lackawanna County Man

April 11
Crews are still on the search for Ronald Nicholas.

Police say that they did receive a report from someone who saw Ronald and his dog walking on Brady's Lake Road on Tuesday at 2 PM.

Corporal Matt Nero, Pocono Mountain Police Department says that the weather has added an additional struggle to the search.

Due to the storm they were limited on the amount of time that they could safely fly drones and helicopters.

Brady's Lake is 2,700 acres of woods.

The rescue squads are using strategic mapping to look for him.

Authorities search for missing 72-year-old Lackawanna man and dog

April 12
The search began Thursday and has yielded some clues into the man's whereabouts.

Two sightings on Tuesday indicated that he was disoriented and may have been trying to walk home from Brady's Lake through the woods, Aaron Nicholas said.

A dog leash similar to one his father would use on Cole was also found placed on a rock.

"If he's cognizant, he knows how to survive in the woods," Aaron Nicholas said. "My hope is that if he found a road, he would have stuck to it."

His children remain hopeful for their father's safe return, Aaron Nicholas said. He said he's grateful to know Cole, the rescued Blue Healer, is with him.

"That's his best friend, and it's one of the biggest pieces of hope we're holding on to," Aaron Nicholas said. "That's the type of breed that wouldn't leave his side."

So the leash but not the collar, so that’s sort of good news? So hopefully doggie is still with him and they both return from their misadventure no worse for the wear. Prayers offered.

From what I read, the dog wasn't necessarily leashed, so the leash could have been carried separately.
