Trial dates have not been scheduled.

The judge ordered Walter Cable to return to court in February for another status conference.

A Westmoreland County judge on Friday authorized spending $9,700 of taxpayer money to hire an expert to analyze nearly 100,000 computer images connected to a Derry Township murder case.

Another hearing be conducted in April to determine when Walter Cable’s trial can be scheduled. Akamichi is scheduled to appear next month before Krieger for a status conference.

The trial for a Greensburg man charged with the beating and strangulation death of a Vandergrift woman two years ago will begin in April.

No trial date has been scheduled for Walter Cable’s co-defendant, Devin Akamichi, 27, of Murrysville. Akamichi, who faces similar charges, cooperated with investigators and assisted police in locating Ronny Cable’s body a month after she was killed. He also testified against Walter Cable during a pretrial hearing.

Trial for Greensburg man charged with robbery, murder of Vandergrift woman set for June | TribLIVE.com

The murder trial for a Greensburg man charged with the 2017 bludgeoning and strangulation death of a Vandergrift woman is set to begin in June.

Prosecutors contend that Walter Cable, 28, is one of two men who robbed 34-year-old Ronny Cable. They are not related. She was beaten with a hammer and strangled before her body was burned in a secluded section of Derry Township.

Common Pleas Court Judge Tim Krieger this week ordered jury selection in Cable’s murder trial to begin June 7.
