First thing I wondered was if he had gone into water, but looking at the map, I don’t see much water at all..

At the time he was reported missing he was on probation after completing jail time (with likely the usual stipulations on drug/alcohol use while on probabation given the case notes). However, while on probation he was arrested for DUI and controlled substances charges. He went missing the week prior to the summons being issued.

Coincidence? Always possible, given his recent arrest for DUI and controlled subtance use he could just as likely have had a vehicular accident. But I have to consider that he was looking at some serious legal ramifications based on previous arrest history (only capturing the two most recent here) and may be avoiding dealing with it. (NOTE: He's NOT a failure to appear at this point though a criminal complaint was filed after he went missing).

Greensburg is right outside Pittsburgh where there’s water *everywhere*. No idea if it’s relevant to this case but there’s so much water around here, even if not in his most immediate last known location.

"He just wouldn't do this. I can't stress that enough. That no matter what, this is unusual, this is strange, this is weird," said Angela Winstead, a close family friend.

Ruben's family said they were in Canada on a family reunion when no one was able to get in contact with him. His grandfather was the last to see him on July 28 when Ruben asked to borrow his car.

"First, I was angry at Ruben, right, like why are you doing this? Then, the more I thought about it, I was like, this doesn't make any sense. And then when we were able to pull up the phone records and know that he hasn't used his phone at all, that's when we came back early like we just camped up and drove back," Rose (his mom) said.

The family then filed a police report.

Authorities are stating that Ruben’s car has been found and they believe it was hidden elsewhere first, then moved and hidden again in the location where it was discovered.

ACME, Pa. — Police have found a missing man’s vehicle as they continue their efforts to find him.

Officers said evidence shows the vehicle was purposely concealed and they believe it has been there since August 5, the same day officers first shared information about Carranza’s disappearance.

Police say they believe the vehicle was taken to a separate, unknown location before it was moved to Ridge Road, and purposely concealed around August 5. That is the same day police first shared information with the public about the case.

In a social media post Sunday, Greensburg Police said they "strongly believe someone in the Acme area knows something."

This is right in my area, both the last phone ping and where the car was found even closer. Lots of rural land.

Family and police were initially concerned that Carranza may be in a situation where he would self-harm. But now, his mom said she’s not sure that’s the case.

His mom showed Channel 11 pictures of his tattoos on his right arm.

He has a tattoo of a knife referencing the movie, “Dune,” on his right upper arm, a tattoo from the book, “Where the Wild Things Are,” on his right hand with some other symbols, and a skull with a rose on his thigh.

Some photos show Carranza with a mustache, but the family said he does not currently have one.

Wow, finally someone who might be seeing the bigger picture here, beyond all the subterfuge. Always go straight to the dockets to see who you're dealing with in such matters. Bro is a career criminal IMO:

2011 - Felony Forgery
2012 - Felony Robbery w/ threat of serious injury; theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, possession controlled substance, possession drug paraphernalia
2013 - Ducked out of a civil insurance fraud lawsuit
2016 - Possession controlled substance, fleeing or attempting to elude officers
2024 - Criminal mischief, damage to property
2024 - Felony criminal tresspass, breaking into structure
2025 (pending) - DUI, possession controlled substance, possession drug paraphernalia, careless driving

If the media and law enforcement was at all honest with the public they would be transparent about all of this as a backdrop instead of bombarding us with mom's crocodile tears, acting like he is just a good law-abiding kid with "mental health issues." The "mental health issues" card is getting old. "Borrowed his grandfather's car" and then all this happens reeks of premeditation to flee prosecution. If all the media and law enforcement efforts were funneled into putting an APB out on this kid, I'm willing to bet he'll turn up by the police someplace not too far away. This is the same person that successfully eluded a civil insurance fraud lawsuit more than once if you read the entire docket.

Criminal history or not, she wants to know where her son is. It’s possible she may not even know his criminal history, but even if she did, she’s still gonna be doing all she can by going to the media, etc. to get the word out.

Let's be clear, it's just "criminal history," there is no "or not." Public record.

And yes, we all want to know where her son is—so perhaps he can face the consequences of his recurrent criminal activity. But no one here should be holding their breath that will happen even if they do track him down, because most of the judges in WC are pathetically weak.
