I am sure he won't last too long in prison once it is made clear WHY he is there.

"Police said the girl was crying so hard she nearly stopped breathing."

Just reading that from the above link brought tears to my eyes. It sounds like she lost alot of blood. This is horrible and wish for the harshest sentence possible for this scum.
i would imagine she was. it must be equal to a adult woman being raped by a telephone pole in relation to the sizes involved.

the part that tore at my heart the most was how much blood there was.

So, they decided to take her to Westmoreland Hospital, which is where doctors found blood inside her diaper.

"Doctors immediately notified Greensburg police, who headed to the house with a search warrant," said Capt. George Seranko of the Greensburg Police Department.

There, police said they found a blood-soaked towel in a box in Smith's bedroom, along with four red-stained baby wipes.
that is alot of blood for a 5 month old. i also have to wonder how much permanent damage was done to her uterus and stomach and intestines.

Personally, I think the rape of a child under 13 with or without bodily harm should be life in prison. We've all seen, over and over and over, what happens when they're let out again. That should be law in every state.

ITA, Unless our laws change this will continue to happen. I'm so sick of crimes against our children. IMO, it seems to be getting worse everyday! I swear, every time I pick up a newspaper, turn on the news, or go online there's another case of rape, murder, or abuse of a baby/child.

And I made a terrible mistake when I chose the title for this poor little baby. That 🤬🤬🤬 is nowhere near a man.

I hereby change it to 🤬🤬🤬 animal rapes 5 month old baby

wait, wait, even animal is too good for him!

We seem to have lost our moral compass...there's such an eagerness to break down old taboos...where does it stop?
I don't ever recall hearing about infants being raped until the last few years - maybe it's the media reporting it more, maybe we're all so global, word just spreads faster....

I don't think people like this jerk, are who the framers of our country had in mind with our legal system. I wouldn't mind at all to see vigilante justice done. (Not encouraging it, just wouldn't feel badly about it.)

I am curious about the home life and "several" people living there. When are moms going to learn not to trust babies/children with people they've known only a short time?

From the article:

"A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday. It's unknown whether Smith has a lawyer yet."

What lawyer would want to defend this -- :(

One that needs to make his start or one that wants his 15 minutes of fame. I guess our system is set up to make sure that everyone gets a fair trial and equal representation...but Geeeze...this guy is scum.

A lawyer who wants to make certain this man is well-represented so that any conviction he gets will stick.

Scott Wade Smith did CPR and removed a crayon from her mouth to appear to be a "hero." He also used a condom, to prevent DNA from being tied to him, which investigators found. This article offers additional details:

I like the name of this site, People You'll See in Hell.....and Scott Wade Smith is certainly one of them....

Did he really think that if he drew attention to her mouth that no-one would know what he did to her 'elsewhere'??

I can't even read the article. The title alone makes me want to vomit. He should be put to death. Truly.

I agree. There is no such thing as rehabilitaion for someone evil enough to do this! No use for such a waste of oxygen!:furious: And prison is too good for him!

I believe the majority of citizens in the US would support the death penalty for these type crimes!
