Circumstances of Recovery - Unidentified male was admitted to CMC on 9/25/92 and died in the hospital on 9/26/92. He had been hitchhiking and was picked up near Binghampton, NY from a bar called "Davy's Last Chance" (Chenango Falls, NY). Unidentified male was admitted under the name "Albert Crazy Buffalo" and reported his date of birth as 1/16/37. He also listed his address as PO Box 546, Mission, South Dakota and may have been born there as well. This individual remains unidentified, but has several known or reported aliases: Edward Danforth, Edward Sampson, William Sampson, Al White, Edward Simpson, James Badhorse, Broken Leg, Bear Doctor, and Menny Kills. He had very few personal belongings with him, but carried cards in his wallet for the following: - United Health Services Hospitals business card (Johnson City, NY) - UHSH VIP (very important patient) insurance (?) card - Asylum Studios business card (no address, phone number appears to be NY but no business found at this number)

Brennan’s longest running case is from September 1992, when Albert Crazy Buffalo arrived at Community Medical Center in Scranton and died of a heart attack soon after.

His death certificate is filled with unknowns, from education to marital status to parents. Through a New York motorcycle shop business card in Buffalo’s possession, Brennan tracked him to a Brown County, N.Y., bar.

Patrons at Dave’s Last Chance bar told Brennan the man, an American Indian with a tattoo of an Indian chief on his arm, would paint motorcycles in return for drinks. There the clues stopped, and 14 years later the case remains open.

At the Diocese of Scranton’s Cathedral Cemetery, on a small grassy slope, are the remains of Volk, Buffalo and other unknown souls.
