State College Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 46-year-old Stephen Shimmel. He was last seen in State College on Sunday evening, April 13, 2025. He is a heavy-set white male, 5 foot 4 inches tall, blue eyes, blond/grey hair, long beard, and was last known to be wearing a brown coat and carrying a portable oxygen tank. Police are attempting to locate Shimmel and check on his welfare.

A missing State College man was found dead Thursday, borough police wrote in a press release. The department said there was no evidence of foul play in the death of 46-year-old Stephen Shimmel. He was last seen Sunday evening in State College and was reported missing Monday morning.
