PA - Washington Grandma Locks Boy, 10, In Dog Crate, Claims He Poisoned Her

Here's the article I wrote about earlier. :(
http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/15164077/detail.html

The boy's 24-year-old brother, Michael McCreery, is charged with punching the youngster.

The 10-year-old is now with the county's Children and Youth Services agency.

"He said goodbye to his grandmother, and she didn't seem remorseful for anything she did," said Markley. "She told him not to come back. When I asked the brother, 'Why would you punch a 10-year-old in the eye?' He said, 'It's better than what I wanted to do to him.'" (video and pics at link)

I sure hope there's time left to turn this little guy around.

Nuttin right about any of it. Here's a link to the brother's Myspace and you'll see there's another brother who is a travelling carny. He's telling this Mike to ask mom for a Social Security Number so he can find someone. Could be their biological dad. PLUS, a niece says the mom was getting married. So, no excusing the grandmom, BUT maybe the lady was a tad overwhelmed? Maybe they can charge the mom with up and leaving all them kids and that's a big age gap between them. Again, not excusing any of it, but the poorkid probably just couldn't stand the insanity and figured he'd poison the lot of them. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=91540837

The boy must already have some serious problems or the grandmother wouldn't have been calling MHMR to come get him. He probably has a caseworker. She probably knew that she had to be considered unsafe or they wouldn't do anything to help her or take the boy. I wonder if the family had been sick alot due to being poisoned or if the boy was just making it up. To punch a little boy in the eye and be cruel to him is just awful even if he did those things. He'll hopefully be better off somewhere else.

Families like these seem to cycle the nuttiness. The grandma sounds like my maternal Grandma did. She was very backwoods, mean and as quoted by a Doctor treating her Cantankerous. Unless you were a baby (or a boy) she treated you like you were there to cater to her and clean her house. She preferred switches to beat you with. She also considered males more valuable than females so the girls where always taking the beatings from their brothers. I swear she must have been bipolar. Almost all of her children had mental health and substance abuse issues and in turn passed it to their children. I have issues (a little OCD) but my mother was the most adjusted considering the abused she endured.

I really hope this boy is placed with a decent foster home that will spend time on just him. I've seen many children get tossed around and it ruins them. I hope he finds his forever home and doesn't feel he needs to act out to get attention. Do you think he is old enough to understand the consequences of putting cleaner in someones drink? He probably thought he would get even and just make them sick. To tell them afterwards seems like he was trying to get a reaction. I don't think he was prepared for the reaction he got.

My grandma would have done the same with a switch she made you fetch yourself....And them added an insult about not knowing your butt from a hole in the ground.
