I'm so glad they've located more photos of Maggie.
Yes. Jane sent these pictures to me after her sibling found them. She told me she was going to send them to the Trooper in charge of the case after she sent them to me.

It’s puzzling how the removal of the nose; ears and breasts was carried out, perhaps (if Maggie is truly BD) she had distinguishing features on those parts, maybe they are easy to identify on Maggie, if someone was looking for her in late 76.

While I feel like the likelihood that this was a completely random murder with no preexisting connections between victim and killer are extremely low, I don't necessarily think that she was killed by her baby's father, either. The nature of this crime does imply quite a bit of contempt towards the victim, and there's an endless continuum of people in her life who could have felt that way about her for any reason. I can't wait for her to be identified so we can have a better idea of why this happened.

From the extended violence towards her, it’s more than likely that she knew her attacker

According to the National Center for Missing Children, a new lead may have identified a "Beth Doe" that was found in Carbon County in December of 1976.

The reconstructed picture above shows what the "Beth Doe" may have looked like.

NCMC says, police believe the woman may be female known as Maggie Cruz.

Police are asking anyone who knew Maggie or her current whereabouts to contact police immediately.

On the documentary posted on this thread, one of the pictures where Maggie's profile is seen, her shoulder length curly hair and facial features make one confident that she's the Carbon County Jane Doe. However, if our speculations are correct, Maggie's face became wider according to the NCMEC renderings, when compared to the pictures uploaded here, it's possible that this weigh gain could have been the result of anxiety or (excuse my ignorance) due to her pregnancy.

Maybe she had convinced some other man that the baby was his and when he realized that it wasn't he went into a rage.

It's possible, perhaps she stole something or betrayed someone, something that she could have done that translate into her violent end.

There is an ongoing case in Ontario concerning a perp who is accused of dismemberment of a pregnant young woman (and possibly others too).
He is allegedly "into" pregnant females, so that type exists...
imo, speculation.

Any chance that he might be Beth’s killer?

As far as I can tell this one was never solved. She was found naked on her bed so it makes me wonder about a sexual assault. A man who rode a commuter train with her was wanted for questioning.

On August 27, 1976, 21-year-old Cynthia Leeds of Brick Township was strangled and stabbed to death in her apartment in Kentwood Village, Brick Township. She was eight months pregnant, and it was suspected that the killer might have wanted to take the baby, since a slash wound exposed the fetus.

They got on the train in Monmouth County which is one area the NY Times found with Beth could have come from according to an older news report on Beth's case.

Hi,
This is from the NCMEC blog. My apologies if this has been posted already.
I really hope that Beth Doe's case can be solved but it makes my heart ache seeing pictures of Maggie.

The following theory assumes that
  • Beth was actually living in Pennsylvania or a nearby state when she was killed
  • The isotope tests are somewhat accurate
Beth's baby gestated when she was in the southeast. When Beth moved from the southeast to the northeast at some point between February 1976 and her death, she might not have taken her baby's father with her. If she left her original place of residence early on in her pregnancy, she might not have even been aware that she was pregnant at the time, and the father of her baby might not even know that her child existed.

I'm thinking that what could have happened is Beth, after realizing she was pregnant and alone in a completely foreign part of the country (a country to which she might not be native in general), met somebody who ostensibly sympathized with her. This person could have offered to help her, perhaps going so far as to offer help with raising Beth's unborn child, but in the end, the relationship took a very dramatic turn for the worse (perhaps he turned out to be abusive), and the rest is history.

I'm not sure, though, that Beth's killer was abusive or controlling towards her as much as I think they were scornful or disdainful. It seems to me that whoever did this had a deep-seated hatred and resentment towards Beth, and they viewed her as a nuisance or the source of everything wrong in their life. Taking that into consideration, the fact that she was 9 months pregnant doesn't seem like a coincidence to me. I would not rule multiple killers or even female involvement in this case - yes, we know Beth suffered genital trauma and that she was raped, but I'm not sure she was raped necessarily in the "conventional sense". The chopping off of her hair, mutilation of her face, and removal of her breasts might be an attempt on the part of her killer to make her "ugly" or undesirable.

Sorry for rambling.

So far it has similarities, it’s possible that dismembering the body

So far your theory seems accurate, female involvement is strong though

I always suspected the baby's father. As to the theory of a female, what if this was a married man who got (Beth) pregnant . Wife stayed with him and together they killed her....knowing she was due to give birth at anytime?

I have Beth Doe’s partial postmortem... I superimposed it over Maggie’s photo. It matched perfectly.

I really do hope Maggie is Beth Doe. The information is truly uncanny.

Her resemblance is uncanny, the problem now is trying to locate a relative of her so DNA can be collected and confirm a match.
