Police on both sides of the Alaska border say they're confident there's no connection between an Alaska serial killer and the death of a Whitehorse woman.

Angel Carlick disappeared in May of 2007. Her body was later found in November of that year in the bush near the Pilot Mountain subdivision.

Good catch, digndoodle.. If IK is responsible for Wales, and it sure looks like he may be, imo. It sure does paint a different picture than what IK lead FBI/APD investigators to believe..

Foxfire, I observed on the photo also, the ears are similar in that they appear to turn outwards at top almost identical space and the neck area to me is very similar....This was in 2001, Keyes had just got out of the Military, I'm sure he was more slim then than his booking photo, but the neck area to me on both look firm and muscular

I just will never believe IK sat in a room of FBI and investigators and told the whole truth, he hated the fact he had been caught, he stated he had never planned on being taken alive...moo, I think he felt like the caged animal he was and it was getting to him mentally, after all he was used to being outside either on construction jobs or traveling, riding his bike, hiking and then him being confined to a very very small cell, 2 guards at all times daily self-searches, cell searches and even to take a bath...A control freak as he was known to be literally would loose sanity a little each day, then hour to hour, nothing to do but sit and think over things he had done and he already knew he would get life in a federal prison or probably the death sentence so why tell the truth?? perhaps just enough to satisfy investigators enough to get the meetings over with, he seemed to me that these were simply a means to get out of his cell for awhile, converse with others, it's truly all a cat and mouse game I feel with them....

I know if I were in jail and knew my outcome was like his (and I've thought on this long and hard) I definitely would not tell any truth and I know I would want the last laugh to be on myself and I feel he did just that on Dec. 2, 2012

I can believe that IK changed his MO over time and was an opportunist who liked 'variety' and challenge. Wales was murdered during that initial several month period after IK left the army....a period of time where FBI have indicated they thought he killed someone (i.e. July 2001 to October 2001).

IK also hesitated when asked if he killed anyone other than Bill Currier with a gun. His answer (no) didn't sound believable to me.

So, I think that Thomas Wales is a possible victim of Keyes.

When IK was interviewed on Nov 29, he talked about dumping a body in "Lake Crescent". If you listen to the video, FBI asks him about his earlier comments about lake depths and the fact that he hadn't mentioned anything near 500 feet deep.

[I'm definitely paraphrasing everything after this point!]

IK starts to say that he was in a "cano..." and cuts off his sentence, and that he didn't go out to far from the shore. He said that at 30 feet out from shore the lake bottom drops off quickly to 50 or 60 feet. He confirmed that he tied 4 or 5 milk jugs to the body.

He also sounded very curious as to what would happen to a body when it was very deeply submerged in a lake...as he didn't think there would be fish down at those depths. Clearly he had read about the Lake prior to dumping a body in there.

But how did he take a body, tied to 4 to 5 milk jugs, out in a canoe and dump it without tipping over?

Also on the Nov 29 tape, IK was also asked about the couple he said he had killed. Were they dumped in a lake? IK: no, I put them in a hole. They are buried. FBI: Was that a long time ago...right after you got out of the military? (since IK had indicated he had killed someone in the several months after being released from the military) IK: {slight hesitation} It was before I got my boat.

Why didn't IK simply say yes? He got his boat in 2005. Does his response imply that he killed the couple before he left the military?? (i.e. before July 2001).

I know many of you think I'm off the wall, but this case just kept
haunting me inside...so I turned to my friend Kristi and here is the photo
and NOTE**** Same Gun Keyes is using in the Bank Robbery!!!

I know FBI so far think Keyes didn't do high profile killings, but I 198% feel this perhaps
was I Keyes 1st kill after he was discharged from the Army, this man stood for everything
Keyes is known to hate, he was well known for getting limitations on carrying guns, a federal
prosecutor, I am left to wonder if getting the DUI in his Army stay if perhaps he was to stand
before this man for charges??
Also I feel I Keyes is almost a dead ringer to the POI sketch, put some curly hair on the
sketch's head and to me I think YES.....Sketch is of the person seen walking in Wales
neighborhood during the weeks before Wales was killed, and remember this unknown person
was seen rolling a black backpack-type carrier behind him....this sounds like it could
have been Keyes famous kill kit, perhaps he was scouting out the neighborhood where Wales
resided, and if it is Keyes, he was surely studying the best way to take Wales down
I had to say WOW out loud when I was given the photo of the gun used in Wales shooting
and then seeing one identical in Keyes bank robbery

NOTE also:......The POI sketch released said the person had a Left chipped front tooth
Keyes also has a left chipped tooth!!!!

A thought about the "Reyes" name...it could simply be an easy (very easy) change from a K to an R...the rest of the letters are identical. And a K can be changed to an R with one small stroke of a pen, you know? So maybe it was a forged name, and bears no significance except in how easy it was to change the K to an R.

I dunno...:shrug: just a thought.

Body parts found scattered on Washington Indian Reserve
November 11, 2013

Police spent the weekend seaching the Nisqually Indian Reserve for human remains.

...The Coroner says they will be examining the parts for signs of tool marks left by a handsaw or electric tool, but the remains may have been scattered by animals.

Just bumping up my original post about this skull found at IK's old base. I'm not finding anything on this beyond this past September (when the reward was offered, I think) when I do searches.

Has anybody else run across any kind of updates? Or had much chance to pursue trying to find possible matches? I know there must be people out there trying to ID this person -- out of concern, for some, and because $15,000 is a big reward, for others.

There are five rule-outs listed on the NAMUS page, all missing from Washington state.

The search for a 12-year-old Colville girl, presumed to have been murdered when she disappeared a year ago, ended Monday when her skeletal remains were identified.

Julie Harris was reported missing on March 3, 1996.

The case was classified a homicide when her purse and two artificial feet were found about a month later, near where the Colville River flows into Lake Roosevelt at Kettle Falls.

The girl's remains were discovered Saturday by children playing three miles southwest of Colville, in the vicinity of Haller Creek Road and Reidel Creek. A check of dental records confirmed the identification.

Yep, Backwoods, many teen abductions/murders are initially ruled as runaways by investigators. Until their remains are later recovered by hunters, or years/decades go by without a trace. There are those rare examples of actual abductions, such as the Cleveland three, Jacee Dugard, Elizabeth Smart, and very few others that miraculously end with the victims rescued and the perp facing Justice.

Just talked to a Stephens County Sheriff's Department investigator concerning the Emersons & Harris murders. Both cases remain open after almost two decades, and IK is not considered as a POI or Suspect in the two cases according to him.
'Perceived hypothesis; the primary reason for missing/murdered persons investigations growing cold, imo'...
