Double Olympic biathlon champion Laura Dahlmeier remains missing after being "seriously injured" in a mountaineering accident in Pakistan.
BBC: Olympic star still missing after climbing accident
The Guardian: Climbers attempt rescue of German Olympic champion seriously injured in Pakistan mountains
"Laura Dahlmeier was climbing with her mountaineering partner on 28 July when she was caught in the rockfall. The accident took place around noon local time.
"Her partner immediately called emergency services and a rescue operation began immediately."
So far what I gathered she is only "seriously injured" but also that "No signs of life were detected". It sounds quite grim and I hope that she is still alive when they get to her. It seems that they have begun the search for her today, 30 July 2025, with a team of four climbers: three American and one German mountaineers.
