I agree and don't understand why she was not forthright. I mean, the whole world knows she takes Valtrex for herpies. You'd think disclosing the fact she has emotional/medical issues would be a breeze to confess.

It was just plain stupid. Any responsible adult knows the ramifications of stopping meds.

I agree completly with what you are saying except for one fact. Paris Hiltion is not and can not be just an average person. By virtue of her birth she is who she is and she can not do her time in jail without feeling the repercussions of notiarity. She must deal with the never ending press, the intrustions on her privacy and constant scutiny of people she dosent' even know. Average people who go to Jail do not have to deal with this burden. Paris Hilton is 26 years old but my opinion of her is she is like a stunted teenager. You equate her behavior to believing she is above the law. My opinion is that she functions in total disfunction and probably had not any Idea of her driving status or what she needed to do to comply with her legal status. Does this exuse her? Absolulty positivly not. However, this does support my belief she is a completly disfunctional person who has been raised with out the skills to function as an adult and she is now living her life distructivly using drugs, alcohol in a desperate atempt to avoid the adult world which she is not equiped to function in. She needs help and its not the kind of help she can get in a jail cell.

I agree with you...to a point. I do feel a little sorry for her because she just looks like she's coming unglued right now, and apparently she does have some sort of serious mental problem. However, I can't say I feel sorry that she has the media intrusion. She has gone out of her way to seek media attention her entire adult life. She enjoys the perks that come with celebrity, and you can't have it both ways--you can't just expect the media to go away all of a sudden when something embarrassing happens.

Read in the "gossips" that Paris had a severe outbreak (stress related) of genital herpes that was causing abscesses around her anus (and other nearby areas) so bad (and so contagious) that the jail felt she should see a specialist and NOT expose everyone in the jail her her severe herpes. She had no way to care for herself (hygiene-wise and non-spreading wise) properly while in jail. Basically such an outbreak could end up in her eyes and other areas, not to mention permanently damage and scar her AND leave her infertile forever. I guess these have become deep abscesses. She should be punished, but to leave her permanently damaged so the hard- judge can have his 15 minutes is a bit excessive. And the reason the diagnosis wasn't released was that EVERYONE thought it would be just a bit TMI AND a violation of her privacy. They didn't tell the judge because he would say the whole thing in open court because he is an AZZ and wants attention. He wouldn't even allow Paris's attorney to explain her medical condition in chambers instead of in open court - what could THAT have hurt? I don't see a private conference as "special treatment" but I guess the judge does?

If Paris does have this condition everyone who comes in contact with her in jail is subject to getting the virus and it is not just a simple medical problem with a simple cure or treatment. If this is true, Paris is in severe pain and NO WONDER she isn't eating. I guess now she can spread herpes at the medical facility too. If this is true, No WONDER the Sheriff wanted her off his hands!

I think Paris has portrayed the wrong influence to young women, and I think Paris will emerge a better person for her time in jail.

Not only that I can see huge publicity and book deals for Paris. She won't suffer long and I think people will respect her more...

The Sheriff all but said it was an emotional problem documented by a psychiatrist.
JMHO of course.

ETA: I certainly hope that wasn't the case, because it sounds miserable.
I think she went off her anti-depressant and possible anti-anxiety drugs.

I think every day, while Pairs is in the clink, a different family should show up with pictures of their loved ones who were killed by a drunk driver. I think she should have to sit and listen to them. She probably wouldn't "get it" but she needs to start to understand that most people don't give a flying fig about how special she thinks she is.

I volunteer--- my bil was killed by a drunk driver 2 days before xmas- 15 years ago-- left behind wife, ( my sister ) and 2 children-I am a drinker- so please dont think this is a soap box comment--- you simply dont drink & drive- period the end of the story--- I realize she didnt hurt anybody, and will even give her that, as everyone makes mistakes- but to continue to drive with a suspended lisence and get stopped, not once.....but twice--- is nothing more than a big slap in le's face--- take a cab--- or better yet, as has been stated in this thread someowhere- with her money--- have a fricking driver drive you around :furious:

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me. It's widely known she has herpes.

Medically speaking, this sounds farfetched. It's pretty darn uncommon to get an abscess from a herpes outbreak, and for it to get bad enough to require surgery and dressing changes would take quite a long time, not a couple of days.

I flipped through the channels looking for the news and everything was about Paris Hilton’s trip to jail. I sat there wondering how many women were watching today with missing front teeth and a Detached Retina asking themselves… “Why didn’t the judge ever say ‘Get your butt in here!’ during any of my husbands 15 trips into his courtroom?” Unfortunately, what will probably be little more than a blip on the news will be this particular judge’s track record in all his other multiple offender cases. “The lady doth protest too much..” comes to mind as I wonder how soon it is until this judge is up for reelection.
