Paris Hilton to serve time part 2

For those who say Paris' sentence is too harsh. In the East Liverpool (OH)Review Court notes there are a few driving while under suspension cases. One example of a sentence handed out for the offense was 180 days, 105 suspended with 75 to be served.

It seems strange to see all these people known for being the life of the party suddenly end up in these situations. Paris, Joe what'shisface (the Girls gone Wild guy) doing time, Nicole Ritchie, Lindsey Lohan are probably going to end up in jail. Britney Spears, you're probably next.

Guess the party's over.
I mean it is harsh relative to sentences that are typically handed down and as compared to actual time usually served.
Even with a sentences of 45 days the average inmate for this offense in LA County would serve 4 or 5 days.
I have seen probation violaters given 90 days that were released after 9 days from Twin Towers. Here in Orange County that same violater would serve 60 days on a 90 day sentence.

Good for her. Have some dignity, deal with it and move on.

That's the way I feel. Hell - make an adventure of it and have a great story to tell...it's not like she's doing "hard time."

The closest I ever came to going to jail was 7 years ago when a Superior Court Judge threw me in a holding cell for 8 hours. I know now that she did it to scare me, but at the time, I thought I was headed to County (without a trial I might add!)

The whole time I just told myself - deal with it like a big girl and at least you'll walk out with a good tale......

Anyone read Paris's statement saying that she is not going to appeal??? Does Paris even know there's a war going on??? Can she even spell Afghanistan??? She can't put two words together except for "that's hot" and those weren't anywhere in that statement. :waitasec: If she's so worried about the troops she should have performed her community service and helped send care packages to soldiers, or better yet she should have volunteered to serve her time in Iraq.

:waitasec: I thought she was "incoherent"... "teetering on the brink"... "fragile"... "despondent"...... funny, this statement sounds like it was written by a mentally stable person. :waitasec:

Two words... spin contol. Her circle of Gatsby's watched the talking heads last night rip her to shreds, realized her stock had plummeted to dangerous levels, figured she had no grounds for appeal anyway, and decided they might as well dope her up on happy pills, have her serve her time & start the spin. Paris, along with mommy and daddy, need some serious PR after yesterday's sobfest or no one will be staying at a Hilton.

If Paris would have done her time from the beginning the media would have put her on the backburner for a bit, however Paris had to go & do the only thing she knows how and that's to create chaos and publicity, and unfortunately average american folks love to see spoiled little rich girls behaving like spoiled little rich girls so that's what the media gives us.

Noted to add.. the funniest thing I heard last night was when someone described her medical conditionin as her having "a bad reaction to wearing orange"! :D

I keep thinking about the sheriff and something that JBean has said. It isn't unusual for the sheriff in any county to release misdemeanor inmates, because the jail is crowded. Yet that isn't the excuse the sheriff used. He said it was a 'medical' reason, totally discounting the fact that the jail had medical facilities. He had already acknowleged her sentence reduction which was in line with other inmates and had very little public censure. Talking heads say if he had waited until she had served a bit more time (like almost half) and let her out on 'overcrowding' probably less attention would have been paid. Also that he made a mistake by not making a public announcement in advance, instead he more or less 'snuck' her out of the jail at night. (Using the 'medical' reasoning is almost too blatant since he could have used other reasons. It is almost like someone else chose the reason that would be used.)

Paris' incarceration had already began a media circus, and most of it was in favor of her incarceration- there is no way he could have been unaware of it.

The sheriff was politically savy enough to get himself elected, and was not unaware of public pressure as he had already had several controversial decisions.

Paris initially makes a statement that she is going to do her time, then goes to a 'life threatening condition' then to giving a public statement. She doesn't sound like she is at death's door.

Politicians don't do things for no reason. There is always a motive. Sheriff has acted uncharacteristically for a politician. (Willing to harm career over the welfare of someone else?)

Is there any possibility of something happening in the jail, that the sheriff was threatened a lawsuit over? Do parents have the clout to threaten a lawsuit and give serious concern to the sheriff, even if nothing unusual or malicious happened at the jail? Does he now have a new retirement income or promise of a new career after his retirement from the sheriff's dept? Or was it something between him and the judge and he wanted to force a showdown?

Greta on Fox now. Greta thinks that Paris is sick. She looked very troubled and sick and Greta thinks she needs medical attention.

She just needs a shrink.
I think she needs a good kick in the rear more than she needs the shrink. She is a :loser:!

I wonder if Paris ever went to summer camp when she was young. Of course, if she did, it was one of those posh "camps" where you never have to get dirty and there are no mosquitoes.

I watched Nicole Ritchie last night on Conan and she said she or Paris were never allowed to go to camp.................if that's true or not I can't say :D

I think you are right on the money! And I'm glad someone else heard that statement "bad reaction to wearing orange". I sat here and LMAO at that!

According to TMZ Paris issued this statement

Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge's decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff's concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.

This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter, but important lesson from this experience.

As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake. I have also had time to read the mail from my fans. I very much appreciate all of their good wishes and hope they will keep their letters coming.

I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world."

???? She's back in jail and per reports she has cried continuously since being back in the slammer and has not eaten since she has been there ----- then, SUDDENLY, she has a moment of sanity, releases the above statement, and then withdraws back into her frenzied state of continuous crying and not eating????

And what I'd like to know is how they got this statement anyway?? If she is in jail, how did this statement get released - maybe via her attorney, through her sobs???

Note to Paris: Please, get a grip, serve your time and grow up!!

Through her attorney would be my guess. It sounds to me like a PR statement that she had help putting together. Maybe they have proven at Twin Towers that this is nothing but a case of being a spoiled brat. And she knows that isnt going to go over well with the judge! Especially after the fiasco this has caused!

She knows how to spell Afghanistan!
Dont let her fool ya! She most likely is not even allowed to hold a pen. I dont think Twin Towers is going to take any chances!!! They know the law suit the Hiltons could smack them with if anything happens to her! It is my guess that is part of the reason the Sheriff wanted her out of his jail.
Again this is just my opinion!

Have you read much about the Sheriff? Although I no longer have the link, it was stated that during one year he received more "gifts" that all other Sheriffs in CA combined. I'm not sure his motives were a law suit, although I have no information to say he received anything from the Hiltons.

I'm not sure about the gift thing. That could be part of it too. Im just getting the feeling that none of the staff want her at the prison. Imagine what a pain she is to have around! Its not like they can just go in and slap a straight jacket on her or even ruff her up a bit like they could to most any other prisoners that they have and get away with it.
Imagine having to tend to a screaming brat 24 hours a day! I can see the guards fighting over who Has To take care of her next! :slap:

I also heard she gets extreme Claustrophobia. That could have something to do with it too. I'm sure it's tough going from a 10,000 square foot house to a 60 foot cell too. :boohoo: :boohoo:

Or from a Limo to a squad car.
Is she wearing prison issued underwear? That alone would make anyone freak out.
