Passenger plane down in the hudson river

  • #21
I can see some of this out of the 30th floor of my building on 50th st. Can't make much out except tons of boats, sirens, plane tail sticking out, helicopters circing.

It is SO COLD here today. Anyone in the water is not going to last very long. There are ferries that go back forth from Jersey to NYC and they are pulling passengers out of the water.

Fox reporting all survived!

Most of the people are draped in blankets, some are still being rescued, being brought in via the ferries

  • #27
151 people on board 146 passengers and the rest are the crew members

BTW Switched to Fox, can't stand wolf blitzer!

WOW, way too close to home. This past Tuesday I had to drive all the way up to Newark Airport to pick up my daughter who flew in from Charlotte. I was so mad at her Dad for not flying her into Philadelphia, as we're 20 minutes from Philly airport. Geez, I pray everyone is OK.

This has not been confirmed that all survivied. its only been mentioned by the passengers. I hope they all survived, and I hope we have some Official confirmation. There are passengers that are injured.

wow that is fast action by the pilot and emergency crews (ferries, etc)!
A BIG CONGRATULATIONS AND KUDOS to them!!

All I could think about was the coldness of the water. Good for the pilot for his smooth landing. Wow. Prayers.

I'm watching it now on TV, there's hardly any of the plane left above water.

My daugter was also on US Air ~ this is so disturbing, but thank God everyone is OK. It looks like 10 or more tug boats were right there when the plane hit the water. Actually they're saying it was a gentle landing, not a crash...sorry if anyone's already posted all this.

ETA: Hi to another neighbor!!!!

I can only imagine how you are feeling. My sister is flying out of Philly tomorrow and this is not what I wanted to hear. Scary

Major kudos to those ferry boat captains who are all gathered around rescuing people.

I think there are a few hero's in this story. the pilot did a wonderfull job, he did his best to ensure there was no loss of life, the ferries, responded even BEFORE the law enforcement , save almost everyone before LE got there.
