nora, I really didn't pay attention to what he said the gender of his children were. But I think it's obvious, he has told some 1/2 truths. :( On more than one occasion.

From what i read, I have always read it as being one daughter and 2 boys.

The link below (exerpt from a book with them in it) also says 2 boys and a daughter . I haven't heard the ages though. I think one is an adult with a child of his own whereas the others are still minors (so I removed all of the kids names from this post)

So earlier in the thread someone asked whether a welfare checks was done on Hope, and mea culpa I derailed the conversation into Shelly Miscavige. Anywhooooo.... Was the welfare check done?

I did something I've only done one other time, I contacted local law enforcement, submitting an online "crime tip" and disclosing my concerns. I hope I sounded sane and well-spoken and perhaps it will be verified she's okay, beyond him saying, "Her mom spoke to her..."

I hope I'm being over-reactive and he's just, well, whatever you'd like to call this behavior of his, I'll leave it to each person to label. :-D as my diplomatic act for the day. LOL!

^^^ This.

Dress code? Anyone anywhere to have access to her? Yeah, because the society needs to be kept safe from wives who don't dress the way dear hubby desires.

im thinking his only issue w/ her dress code was that she looked good and turned heads....jealousy and control. or maybe members complained of some of her attire that we have seen in links posted.

I remember that my parents received a letter from a member of their church who had issues w/ the way they looked (insert HUGE eye roll here). to that person, my mom wore too much makeup (certainly not tammy fae style) and my father the Scottish man that he is had hair that was too long for a pastor.

there is a crap load of pressure of pastors and their families. it nearly pushed me over the edge and well it did push me out of the church forever and it helped drive my mother insane (no exaggeration here - she has some serious issues). you literally live in a glass house and are watched 24/7. every move you make is highly judged. my parents chose that life...I didn't. I hated it. but they were not flashy like ron and hope and they didn't do the job for money.

in the case of ron and hope...there is a WHOLELOTTA crap we are unaware of and it will eventually all come out.

http://www.christianpost.com/news/p...-in-heart-wrenching-sunday-confession-106594/

"Carpenter also pointed out that he would not be leaving or going on a sabbatical, as he had done nothing wrong. "The reason I'm not going on a sabbatical and not I'm trying to solicit hand claps, I'm being honest with you, is that at this point in my life I only have two joys — it's my kids and it's you, and I don't need to be separated from you right now," he said, breaking out in tears once more."

He hasn't done anything wrong, nope not him. Hope was married to a saint apparently then.

"I know I am going to be under intense scrutiny. I'm just gonna have to deal with it, but I will do everything in my power to regain your trust...and I will walk this thing out with integrity and authenticity," he said.

He added, "The world will watch how we respond to this right here. This is gonna go viral. There are no secrets anymore, and I will be a YouTube and Internet sensation before supper time. I can't control what media does and I can't control what magazines write." Carpenter, who said he would be preaching the following Sunday at a service that would be the "most powerful in the history of Redemption World Outreach Center,"

BBM. Really? He's gonna be YouTube and Internet sensation? Oh give me a break. Nobody would hardly even care if we knew that Hope was ok. He could have gone on a sabbatical, handled it privately and it wouldn't even be a blip on the radar. But he wouldn't miss his chance to be a "sensation" now could he? No way would he miss out on a chance to paint himself as a martyr, a long suffering saint of a husband and reap the attention from that.

OOhh I just wanna see God's hand come reaching down from above and smack this fool upside his head!

and THAT is why I feel hope may be a conspirator and not a victim. he is in this for fame and fortune...he is milking this for all he can because there are countless sheep out there that will follow Jim Jones, er Ron....

I am truly confused on what to think about Hope.

This is all soooooo weird.

The crap needs to come out, and I hope it comes from Hope.

And I believe his congregation, would follow just like Jim's did. :(

For people who like knowing about and reading about these hucksters, here is another. I actually think Stephen and Holly are friends with Ron and his rehabilitating wife, Hope.

lol. im telling you, this is SOP (standard operating procedure) for these mega churches. I mean, I can only laugh because it is so typical. I wish I could sit and write all the stories I have of this world......

these are the type of people that jesus would reprimand back in the day.....im sure of it.

anyone who really studies the bible, even from a historical perspective, not religious knows that jesus taught about small groups and going home to home (which many churches call "homegroups". he never ever encouraged these huge congregations. can we say......heresy.

Hey ya'll. Me again, lol. I was just looking over more stuff and found his website of writings such as his "relationship builders". I can tolerate reading his words much easier than having to listen to him and watch his performance. Here is the link to his writings:
http://roncarpenter.com/archive/

So I found this: http://roncarpenter.com/2011/02/17/cultivating-friendships-be-intentional/
where he talks about friends and says "I was in the midst of one of the most difficult seasons of my life in what most would refer to as a low point with many struggles; I knew I really needed a friend; I really needed someone to talk to, who could listen and understand. It was at that low moment when it dawned on me: I didn’t have anyone in my life I didn’t lead.
That’s a very dangerous place for a leader to arrive, where every single person in his life is someone he leads. The danger is you never become completely transparent with people you lead, because of the fear that one day they’ll expose your weaknesses and use them against you. Because that’s generally the nature of people, it puts a leader in a constant guarded state because leaders know they cannot lead people that don’t respect them."

and then says

"Jesus never committed himself as a friend to the people who followed him because of his gift, and that’s a very powerful and critical distinction to recognize. "

he goes to talk about the importance of friendship and cultivating it but never says he has a true friend. Thousands of people in his life, rubbing shoulders with other big wig preachers and such and yet no real friends, not even from his childhood, before he became a leader with such a "gift". That kinda speaks volumes to me.

eh , he just bugs me because he thinks he has such a gift, is such a leader and all that.

I just don't trust him at all.

I haven't noticed this thing with his neck before. If you go to 2:30 in the video it's more apparent. Is that just a nervous tick or something?

she is scheduled to speak at a conference next week o.0 and she posted about it 4 weeks ago. so in 4 weeks something horribly unimaginable happened where she needed private professional help for a year??????

I've been reading every article when searching Ron and Hope. I have gone as far as to read every comment posted. A lot are in support of Ron and his struggles with a wayward wife. Some are just stating that others posting comments, don't know the 'whole' story. A few are questioning him.

So far, I have only found a handful that talk about his views on homosexuality. Most state how he thinks it is an "abomination" of God. Only 2 talk about his own struggles with his own sexuality. (No I can't link, I have read so much at this point, I don't know which article had which comments.)

What I am wondering, IF Ron DID struggle, would he be totally offended IF Hope found a female friend HE thought was more then a friend? I am NOT saying Hope was a lesbian, I am asking if Ron thought her friendship with a female got TOO close, would he think maybe she needed to be "reprogrammed" to be heterosexual again?

Maybe that is the one year treatment program he says she is in now.

Ugh. Even I don't believe this, I am just bringing it forth as a discussion.

their daughter is going about her life on twitter as if nothing has happened. literally. odd. maybe everyone deals with horrible family tragedies differently. o.0

The more I watch, the more I dislike him.

Still haven't watched any of the videos in their entirety and just the fact he's on that network says it all.

Actually that something horribly unimaginable happened approximately one week after she posted that as she has allegedly been "in treatment" for three weeks now (according to him yesterday).

Therefore it is even more bizarre that she would schedule a conference if she was going through this "crisis".

I knew what the third child's name was and since it was a name I was not familiar with and since the only picture I had seen of the child (from 5 or 6 years ago) looked like a boy (tomboy maybe) to me, I guess I assumed wrongly that they had 3 boys. Oh well.

Remember she and the middle one are likely minors. I don't think its wise to use their names here, and definitely not wise to sleuth them and post about it.

Definitely agree. The only thing of importance regarding the children, is his statement that he had taken them to see her. Their ages would matter regarding that, but nothing more.
