God is not a business...there ya go, that is the bottom line.

And my bottom line is that I believe Hope was/is in this just as deep and dirty as Ron. Wouldn't trust either of them with a red cent. As a Christian all these types disgust me, and I have a wrong/bad attitude about them. They are so slimy, slick and transparent that it amazes me that people buy into what they say rather than see through them.

That being vented, he still needs to be held accountable for where she is, whether she is dead, really in treatment, or in hiding waiting for a "miracle " to occur.

Well i do hope that this whole fiasco brings them scrutiny and exposes the lies that are going on in that "ministry" and to the prosperity gospel, with it's privately owned churches who are under the rule of the pastor.

i have been pretty sickened by what i have seen, what i have heard and what i researched. I spent HOURS reading up on it. Quite an education. I am just disgusted by the "prosperity gospel" and how they perpetrate it onto the poor or ignorant people. They manipulate spiritually seeking people into becoming their personal piggy banks and use God to steal from them.

I have so much more to say. believe me, but i don't even want to get started.

I found a 30 day Christian based substance abuse rehab in Gonzales. TX. - Eternal Awakenings

This is from the pamphlet :

To those who still need further assistance, help is provided through Continuing Care and Sober Living in a safe Christian environment for up to one year.

I didn't read everything and wonder if they treat sex addiction. ?

IMO he is definitely wired to the max! The eyes are so far gone that he can't be fooling many people. He does something really odd with his mouth too.

Tn the video where he is speaking about his son I took a close up look at his mouth with my magnifying glass and IMO he has a white square of paper laying on his tongue!
That clears up how he can preach for an hour or more without taking another hit, why he wipes his mouth(when it's his forehead that is sweating), AND the odd short periodic cough? The drug draining down his throat.
Again IMO I believe it is highly likely Hope had a psychotic break from the drug use. She is hidden because her use would expose his use.

When he smiles, it's all teeth. The smile NEVER reaches his eyes. For example, look at the pic in my signature? It's my brother that was brutally murdered, When he smiled, he smiled with his entire face..

I can't comprehend a legit treatment facility saying your going to be here for a year, when you are first admitted. Everyone is unique. I know judges will send youth to these boot camp type programs for lengthy periods, instead of prison. Has anyone checked arrest records or police incident reports? LE could have been called but if there was no arrest, it may be impossible to find that information out. Restraining orders or divorce fillings? You would think the press would be on that but maybe not.

I don't want to give the impression that I'm discounting the theory that this is some kind of financial ploy by the both of them. They use so many different, questionable tactics to make money. Time will tell, unless it ends up being a case where she just disappears and people forget about her over time.

I would think if I had a sexual addiction and my husband was going to divorce me, I'd skip the rehab totally. I mean why would I want to go a yr without sex or dating etc when I wasn't going to be married anyway? I'd just enjoy my freedom. If I decided to get serious about someone else and a relationship if I couldn't control my addictions then I'd go get help but in the mean time I'd just do what ever I wanted maybe in my new found freedom I would cure myself . I was a diagnosed nymphomaniac in my 20s' I grew out of it. JMO.

the guilt of sin can be a pretty powerful persuasion for some. and mix that in with the right "leader" and you could be persuaded to do ANYTHING.

when I was growing up it was impressed upon me that sex outside of marriage was an unforgivable sin. I had god, the bible, etc shoved so far down my throat and filled up in my head, I could barely breathe or think for myself. I am not exaggerating. I remained a virgin for a looooooong time. well past 18 because I had such fear of committing that horrible sin and causing god to be so pissed at me. I was the most straight laced teenager ever because I lived by fear of God literally. of course when I moved out of my parents house and saw what life was really like, I went full on rebel. lol

so...IF IF IF hope was involved in behaviors that were considered sinful and based on her past and upbringing, I can imagine her having just the right personality to be persuaded that her sin was soooooooooo horrible that if she didn't do this or that, God would punish her severely.

im not sure if that is the situation going on here with hope, but I can imagine it happening.

I agree prima but if the fear of eternal damnation and sin etc didn't bother her enough to stop while married to the pastor and preaching in church why would it now?

well going w/ the theory that this is even an issue (still not sure I believe it is according to ron)...maybe someone finally sat her down and "woke her up". sort of like when I had the bad boyfriend....I knew he was bad for me, I was continually told he was....but it was one incident that happened along w/ me being sat down and threatened and demons cast from me (lol) that I was able to move on from him.

I agree w/ your questioning as it all really makes no sense. I have no firm opinion on any of it because it is so bizarre and we are forced to take the word of a man who is quite obliviously off his rocker. there has got to be so many more dynamics going on here that we don't know.

  • #629
Yea I agree.. There had to have been some reason to address this issue after all this time and most likely something happened that could no longer be ignored. If in fact what he says is true.. Or it was just convenient for him now for what ever reason or even perhaps pressure from someone else.

Like others, I believe Ron's accusations might be untrue and Hope is in on it.

Just imagine how far they could take this. Sermon after sermon after paid appearances after paid seminars after paid retreats after CDs after DVDs after books.

Ron - I'm not gonna preach today, I'm gonna tell you a story. A story of how my wife crashed and burned. Crashed and burned into a pile of ashes then miraculously rose from that pile of ashes, just like the legendary Phoenix. Can I get a amen??

Oddly enough, a friend of theirs tweeted that they ought to have their own reality show right before all of this happened.

There was just NO reason for him to broadcast this to the world. As someone who speaks for a living and deals with people, he ought to know the proper response is something like "As you know, my wife and I have been married almost 25 years. In all of that time she has been a pastor's wife. I would like to give a chance to just be a wife and I will focus on just being her husband during that time.

Therefore, I would like to take a sabbatical so that we have a chance to just focus on each other and our family. We will be going away for 6 months and will only have limited contact with the church during that time. We have many trusted co-minsters and blah blah to do blah blah. I am sure that this will be a wonderful time for us to reconnect and focus just on each other. We look forward to returning with renewed spirits and and blah, blah, blah."

Then exit stage left.

Ah but exiting the stage is just not within Ron. No, he wants to heal in front of his congregation.

Ron told the congregation ""I know I am going to be under intense scrutiny. I'm just gonna have to deal with it, but I will do everything in my power to regain your trust...and I will walk this thing out with integrity and authenticity,"

He added, "The world will watch how we respond to this right here. This is gonna go viral. There are no secrets anymore, and I will be a YouTube and Internet sensation before supper time. I can't control what media does and I can't control what magazines write."

Did I detect glee and disguised delight at the thought of being a youtube sensation? Why I think I do.

He could start with regaining trust by NOT continuing to lie to the people who already KNOW what is going on and have seen it with their own eyes.

He could choose to NOT put his dirty laundry on blast and to be classy and discreet. have a talk with the congregation OFF camera.

Geez, anything but what he did. But then again, he knew what it would cause and he seems to be loving every minute of playing a martyr. (insert gagging smilie here!)

And the verdict is still out on Hope's part in this. All we have are Ron's words, and as we know, they are simply his spin of what the situation is.

I don't believe his trashing of her and I don't believe she is in on anything, i think he got tired of her and has her locked up somewhere

Hi - Everyone with great insight on this situation. Just wanted to mention, and must say, it is only my opinion, (because I don't know how to link), but just read an article where Barrack Obama visited the church and was on stage with Ron Carpenter in 2007. So, it seems to me, he does have some influential friends. The article also had several comments, even back then, about how they are "false prophets" and basically money grubbers. So, seems it is not new that people are thinking that, and this when he had 4000 members, so membership has increased quite a bit since that time. If you Google just Hope's name, the article, I believe will come up. Will continue to be reading, but just wanted to add this little bit of information.

what Ron said about lock down, 15 minute checks etc. It's a retreat center and NOT a psychiatric facility. It does not even indicate it has any diagnostic or treatment ability. It's a place to relax, reflect, work in small groups, take walks. They have no ability to confine people-at least LEGALLY.

Living Waters Ministry was founded in 1998 as a retreat minstry to provide a safe place for healing, rest and refreshing from the Lord
http://www.livingwatersministry.com/default.aspx

About the only thing I know is that Ron is a liar. It's just a question of how much he's lying about. If Hope were suffering from such a serious mental condition that she had to be locked away for a year, I highly doubt they would have let her drive herself to the facility. His story is absurd.

It's so hard to get real info about these people/this church. I've been looking at some tweets of people associated.

@rwoc @roncarpenter @wohministry At Redemption watching beautiful Pastor Hope giving an awesome word. There is no place like home.:-)

So, the website I posted last night with all the services only has the music part of the 9/29 service when Hope preached. All the others have 2 videos, one Praise & Worship and one Pastor Message. Did something happen on 9/29? Why was her preaching removed?

Hey guys, I'm not in hiding..Jus giving my full attention to my family..I have no words to express what your love means to us.. No words

So, what happened in late September? People obviously began to notice given his tweet about not hiding. So, to me that means he was hiding. Was Hope hiding with him or was he "dealing" with her? Whatever happened he decided to tell his story in public on the 20th-to get his story/version out there, to paint Hope in a bad light in front of the congregation she had just preached to on the 29th of September and right after she preached at the Woman's Conference. Something happened or forced his hand or made him panic. I just know his story is bunk. There is NO one year treatment center where people are confined prior to diagnosis and where a husband is told his wife has the "worst case" before they even know what "case" she has.

Where is this woman and does she want to be there?

Hmm, look at the comment at this link at the webpage set up looking for Hope :
http://hopehilleycarpenter.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-ron-carpenter-cover-up.html#comment-form

It basically says try checking out the Living Waters Ministries in North Carolina. Hope and Ron have been getting their counseling for years. The leaders of this ministry are Lee and Denise Boggs. The commenter says she is alive but she is in hiding.

If you listen to the radio interview that Ron called the radio station and ask to do, the topic of the President speaking at the church is brought up. The radio host points out that there have been other politicians that have spoke at the church over the years.

I think it's because there is a huge audience to address there, it's a large building to do it in and that is attractive to a politician. It would also draw in more potential members.

I just wanted to let you know that he first preached about Hope and told the story on Oct. 13th. That narrows the timeline a little bit from when she first "disappeared". He went on to continue to preach about her on the 20th.

Well, one thing for sure. We have a mystery and it doesn't look good for Hope. :(

Boytwnmom,

Maybe Ron got nice and cozy with Rodman when he (allegedly) sat down next to Ron in FL, and Rodman, known associates with a certain illustrious leader of North Korea (who I like to call 'Lil Kim'), gave good 'ole "Apostle" Ron Jr an inside track into getting people committed to Pyongyang, or one of the other nice 'camps' in North Korea. Anyone check Hope's passport for a stamp from North Korea? :-)

(I say this sarcastically but this seems about the ilk of "Apostle" Ron Jr)

I'm guessing when Ron said he's going to be an "Internet sensation overnight", he didn't expect people would so heavily scrutinize his actions toward Hope, from his trashing her to wondering wth he did with her. I'm guessing he thought the fact their was so much turmoil in their lives while they continued to press forward with their (ahem) 'ministry' is the controversy he thought would come callin' and no doubt that is too. Bet this bit of scrutiny is biting him in the arse- of course he's too high on his horse to think it will topple him.

Are you starting to worry, Ron, that people are looking at you and scrutinizing you in ways you never imagined and never intended? See, the entire world is not in love with you and is not blinded by the idiocy coming out of your mouth. Some people will require you answer for things, an answer beyond telling us "Hope's mom's sister's dog's cousin's boyfriend's tiger said that Hope is doing great!"
