Pastor of mega church says wife has gone away for 1 year...

Has it been one year? I ask in all sincerity, I loosely follow this thread. I commend you Scarlett, for giving others the benefit of the doubt, it is a wonderful quality. That being said this man has double talked his way through this entire situation and THAT bothers me profoundly- especially from a man of God. Why open his mouth in the first place to say he would never take Hope back- that his marriage was over? Why say anything in regards to their future with so much to be worked out while Hope was "away"? This is what I don't understand.

I am interested to hear Hope's side of the story... I'll make my mind up then. Until then, I have seen quite a lot of unsavory information about Pastor Ron, thanks to Swamp and others, to give me tremendous pause about the honesty and authenticity of this man. Money is a powerful motivator.

I agree. However I don't think that being dishonest in ither places automatically makes him dishonest everywhere. Maybe I'm wrong. That's okay. I would rather be wrong giving someone the benefit of the doubt than accusing them or assuming something bad that was not true.

I still believe this was one huge SCAM on the congregation. nothing yet leads me to believe otherwise.

ETA...interesting that daughter-n-law put out a picture of a gift from hope (at Tday) and then a picture of hope at Christmas probably not realizing people would notice it (I doubt she has many church members viewing her twitter/instagram because she certainly doesn't post things that a Christian congregation would feel is OK for the pastor's DNL w/out needing to send her away for a year for her very sinful nature *big huge eye roll here*

so when it started getting out that hope seemed ok and was at home, all of a sudden she is HEALED (like we predicted) and the rest is history.

for anyone to think that a women would not put herself thru what ron did in order to gain something hasn't been around the mega church world much nor has seen the interworking's that go on behind the scenes. (obviously not every church is this way) but the evidence shows that pastor ron is way beyond hinky.

I absolutely believe she would be part of a scam - if that is the case - if it gained money, attention, etc. in reality, her reputation was not really that tarnished - as NOBODY talked about it after his preaching about what a sinful horrible mentally ill woman she is. there was NO gossip about it that was evident to the public. only we were wondering WTF is going on. now she is back and everyone is singing praises. all is well!

logically speaking: how does one get healed in less than 3 months when professionals stated that hope was the WORST case they had ever seen?? worst case of what? mentally ill? nymphomaniac? attempted suicides? how does a worst case of ANYTHING get better in 3 months?

this whole thing STINKS and id never ever trust ANYONE in that family ever. nor would I trust this TD jakes character. he seems just as hinky as ron.

If Hope is not a part of a scam, then Ron's preachings about her to the congregation are abuse towards his wife.

As he continued to preach these sermons digging the knife deeper in each one, the sympathy money flowed in. He preached to his congregation telling them to call the credit companies and ask them to right off or settle for smaller amounts owed. He preached about the woman on welfare that gets a check for under $300 a month to support her family. He talked about how if this woman gives her 10%, god will bless her with prosperity. He tells his congregation the more money they give the more successful they will become.

This is all about him getting richer. He does not care about the woman that gets $300 per month and how that tiny 10% will affect her kids. He doesn't respond to people asking for prayer for dying relatives or their own cancer on his fb page. He just asked them to give and give and give, while he talks about his own personal life and how Hope is the worst case ever seen. Dang! She looks pretty darn good in those photos now.

Seriously, using the term preacher or entertaining that this man is of faith is such a farce. All he cares about is his congregation getting bigger and bigger through the new technology of illusion and a college. This is all to line his own pocketbook and nothing else.

It's big business that preys on people in the name of religion.

Hope is not at home. Hope has not been seen since the first part of October, and no one but Ron knows where she is...and they have not reconciled their marriage yet...he said yesterday that he is on his way on a jet plane to go in that direction. With the way he talks, no wonder there are so many stories going around and so many misunderstandings.

I still don't believe that this was a marketing tool of more donations, because I have been the wife of an ex husband/pastor who had multiple affairs.
His main problem is Narcicism, and plenty of it.

And TD Jakes? I think he just tagged TD Jakes' as a mentor for another round of OOhs and aahhs! I don't really think he will be anywhere near the Carpenters this week. It's just another ploy to make him look like the victim in all of this.

As for TD Jakes, he seems a lot more well known than Ron. I read one of his books years ago, and passed it on to a friend. He seemed on the up and up then. It's possible RC has not been truthful to him as well.

To be honest that's one of the few things that gave me pause (TD Jakes) all along. Not paid as much attention lately, but like you said, he had seemed straight up, at least last I noted. So I wasn't quite sure how to reconcile that (but was too lazy to go do a whole bunch of reading to try to catch up on him. Ha!)

that is actually not accurate. in fact, it is completely false. there was a picture posted of hope with her DNL and her DNL saying "glad my MIL is home" at Christmas time. she was actually home recently. the proof is on this thread posted by me. she was also WITH ron because the photo of her and DNL was taken the same day and same place as one with ron and his sons. and hope was wearing her wedding ring.

she may not be waking up in her own bed this morning (nobody knows if she has or not), but she was with her family at Christmas. and obviously was out on a shopping trip for her DNL at thanksgiving.

when someone tried asking ron about it on his FB, he kept deleting the posts.

lived in TN and they have moved back home...according to twitter.

the two photos though were taken at the same place - I was assuming a restaurant based on décor and a following picture that ron had holding his grandson outside a restaurant or some other public establishment.

By Sunday afternoon, every photo was taken off of his page ...of HOPE except for the ones that are on there now. All I know is Hopes last tweet had something to do with having a breakdown and buying KK doughnuts. What a horrible sin to buy and eat doughnuts or maybe to many when the church built a workout/health facility. It's the worst case ever!! Time for rehab for Hope!!!

How do we know when those pictures were taken? I saw the tweet, and I saw the pic of him and his sons and grandbaby. These pictures did not have any Christmas around them at all.
I suppose these little details don't matter if one believes that Ron and Hope has done this all becaue of financial gain...but I'm thinking there is alot more to the story than just a financial gain here. Who, in her right mind would go along with something like this to stand right back up and say..."It's a miracle...we're all healed now" "And by the way, you have seen how God has so richly blessed us...why don't you sign up for our marriage conference!" NO! I don't believe a pastor would put his marriage on the line like that and then play a trick like that to his congregation.
I think this thing is much deeper than a marketing tool. I've been in the pastor's shoes myself...and alot can go wrong without playing around with a marriage. And really, no man would play around with the story about "adultery" and his marriage. That hurts any spouse experiencing that.
