Me too, NewMom ! I absolutely LOVED him in the Outsiders. That was my favorite novel growing up and I loved it when it was made into a movie. He was wonderful as Darry. Then I saw Dirty Dancing and Ghost and fell hopelessly in love with him. My hubby understands, thank goodness.

I am praying for Patrick. :blowkiss:
Ghost.....bawling! I LOVE that movie!!!:blowkiss:

Oh. Englishleigh, I didn't even think about that. :(

I don't think it really matters anymore, but thats just MO.
I don't mean to sound rude or crude, if I do plz delete, BUT if you are dying (and he is whether now or not) what difference does it make?
Why stop doing what you love if you've done it for so many years?

I think if I knew I was dying soon, I would also do whatever I want. Unless I was in chemo or whatever and was hoping for remission. Then I think I would go all natural, live well, eat well. Try to anyway.

This doesn't give me much hope for him if that's why he's smoking. Poor guy. Does he have children?

I agree in a way....but I just don't think smoking is gonna affect chemo. Again, IMOO!
I don't think after all these years that Patrick has kids....if he does someone let me know.

IMO his smoking doesn't matter.
I once worked with a woman who had lung cancer. She didn't stop smoking until she died. Sad but true.

No, I don't think they have children. I don't know if that's by choice or b/c they weren't able to have any...but I'm pretty sure they are childless.

Yeah I saw some tabloid the other day about him putting his sperm up for future kids or something...if this was true I am ok with this...IF NOT I think thats about as low as you can get to report something so horrible!

She had one miscarriage and then their careers got in their way...according to People Magazine anyway.

I have seen people smoking on oxygen with end stage COPD or emphysema...I would be that last person I hope to give someone a piece of my mind when they are looking at a tough prognosis.

i hope they caught it early enough ... i know pancreatic cancer is supposed to be exceptionally fast spreading ... isn't it what michael landon had?

My dad kept smoking until the day he died, and drinking nearly as long. At some point, it became useless to worry about the effect it was having, so long as he was comfortable.

Yes it is!!! And the cancer he has is not caused by smoking. The DR have not found out what causes this type yet

You are correct. A friend of the family died over the summer with pancreatic cancer. He was a physician who never smoked and drank very little. The wine with dinner kind of thing. They did the Whipple procedure on him that bought him another 6 months but he passed.

Prayers for Patrick Swayze to make his peace and hopefully his transition will be as comfortable as possible. Not easy for this man and others who have the same dx. It is an unmerciful cancer.
