Paul Gascoigne claims sleeping pills were to blame for early TV exit

Former footballer Paul Gascoigne has blamed his early exit from a TV show on sleeping pills and has insisted he “was not drunk.”

The former England midfielder who has struggled with alcoholism for more than 20 years, appeared on Sky’s Soccer AM and appeared to be slurring his words on Saturday.

After leaving the show midway through, fans were concerned about his well-being.

Lol! Where are you getting all this stuff?
Doesn't everyone take their sleeping pills before they have a daytime interview?
Sounds reasonable to me. Not.

I use several news apps and read a lot of news. I search by topic: law, courts, crime, celebrity, offbeat, etc. :)

The Brits are quite defensive of him, which I find admirable. He is a flawed character, but has only ever harmed himself.
