Would LE ever hold a press conference to say that they have NOT found a missing person, or to state that they no longer believe there is a connection to their original suspect?

I'm just curious if anyone has ever seen something like that happen?

Nope, have not seen this with Canadian LE. They don't hold pressers unless they really have something to disclose or to ask for the public's help.
