Wow. She doesn't want the world to be able to see her trying to speak on behalf of a convicted murderer with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

This is a clear tactic to put as much TIME between the impact statements...
and the jury's decision as possible.

The person who barbarically KILLED their brother wants to distance herself from those statements.

She wants them to FADE from the jury's memory. If they are FRESH, she is SCREWED.

So if today doesn't happen and we have to wait till Monday or later to even hear from Jodi's friends...

THAT will be what is fresh in the jury's mind when they decide her fate.

So one again the convicted killer gets HER way. :stormingmad:

EXACTLY!! And, Jean, just agreed! She is happy for the delay because it "levels the playing field" for Jodi. Jury too emotional to give Jodi a fair chance.

Clutsy (why is spell check telling me it's spelled wrong?) as I am, I dropped my reading glasses and they broke so I put some Scotch tape on them to hold them together. All I can think of is that Jodi might try putting some tape on the bridge of her glasses. That's pretty much all I got. :giggle::silenced:

This is a big stall tactic for the defense....trying to put space between the jury deciding and hearing Travis' family speak....

Personally, I hope Steven, Samantha, Tanisha and the rest are all on their way to the airport and home. Can't think of any reason why they should sit through any more, unless we're going to have a jury verdict this afternoon, which is unlikely. They can come back Monday, but even then, why bother? The jury has seen them and heard them. Let Jodi talk to a bunch of empty chairs.

I totally agree! There is no rule to say they need to be there. Go home and get on with your lives! I don't want them to have to sit there for one more day. They don't need to hear this garbage. You did a great job for Travis and he knows you are dedicated to him. Your job is done. It doesn't matter what happens now, she's been convicted.

Don't know what is up, but I sure know that I would not want to follow the Alexander family if I were a defendant. I would fake anything I had to fake to get it held over until Monday when some time had lapsed. No way on earth I would let anyone make me go today. Just saying...:truce:

But to me, that would just sear it into my brain for three whole days. Like an instant replay over and over and over

That should not be allowed unless your an undercover LE! If you have a need to help a convicted first degree murderer you should have to show your face! I am outraged this is being allowed!

Watching Steven on HLN -- and am amazed by the flat, unsympathetic expression on the mitigation specialist in the background. Wow. I need to revise my own perception of the kind of person who decides to be a mitigation specialist. I'd always pictured them as overly sympathetic. That's not what I see here.
