If you can give me a good deal on it, I'll take it.

I want to believe those tears of hers were for Travis and his family and not for herself. I want to believe that Jodi will end her campaign of evil after this final phase of the trial. So that Travis and his grieving family can finally find peace.

Sadly I don't think she will, Ammonitida. She's now trying to peddle those domestic violence t-shirts - which says to me that she is sticking with her story that Travis abused her.

She isn't made like you and me. She's an evil person, and I don't think she will ever admit to anyone or even herself that what she did to Travis was horrible and wrong.

It really is sickening how HLN is playing the statements of TA's family up. They really should be ashamed at what they are doing.

I really hope in the end the Alexanders get a law in place for people like Jodi.

The stalking, the lying, the manipulation... any more to add?

Do you think when killers get together they actually tell each other the truth? I was imagining her and Wendi Andriano having a fair bit in common on death row. Although I think WA will eventually get sick of JA's boring conversation all about her.

Very sad that people like Jodi Ann Arias casually throw around the words 'childhood abuse'. If any of you have read a book "A Child Called It" by Dave Pelzer, you will know what I mean by the horror of REAL abuse. http://www.davepelzer.com/books/childcalledit.html

My kids had to read that book in high school. They told me all about his story, so I asked to read the book when they were done. Now, that is some horrific abuse that poor child went through...beaten, starved and tortured by his mother. It is amazing how strong he is. I think most people would be broken with that level of abuse but he turned it around and now he helps others.

Listening to Steven and his sister was absolutely heartbreaking.

Bless them for their strength!

Steven's honesty was just perfect. After so many lies from the defendant, Miss Alyce etc, finally someone speaking from their heart. He laid it all out there. He revealed his tears, his fears-nightmares where he has to check his family to make sure they are still alive. His having to take medication. His falling short and not being the husband he needed to be, even separating and having to shuttle his daughter between two homes for awhile.
All due to some psychopathic stalker who became fixated on his brother.

I'm neither of them, but I think with her recent suicide watch, and psych evaluation, they may have given her a little somethin' today. This is the first day I thought she looked drugged.

Agree, that could be it. She certainly didn't look good at all, not that she ever does, but today appeared far worse than other days in the courtroom.

Oh, by the way. Hey Mitigation Lady. Charles V called. He wants his cross back.

IKR! Ridiculous...who the hell lies to her every morning and tells her "you look good, you look good"??? My uncle used to tell this to us when he thought we looked ridiculous in our "modern ripped jeans"..hehe he would say it twice in row without even looking up from his newspaper...we knew he didn't approve when he said this to us and would ask him to get a giggle out of it. lol

Hi!

First time poster but I have been following this trial since the beginnng and reading here since day one.

I thought the impact statements today were moving and heartbreaking. Bless the Alexander family. I was really hoping though that Samantha and Steven would be able to face JA and express to her how they felt about not only what she did to their beloved Travis on June 4th, but also how they felt about what she did to him during the trial with her lies regarding domestic violence, pedophilia and all the rest of her trash talk. JA was allowed to say whatever she wanted about Travis for 18 days, all of it basically lies, and the family had to sit there and take it. I wanted it to be their turn today to make her sit there and listen to what they thought of her. I have seen familes that were allowed to do this in other trials but perhaps this wasn't allowed in this case. Anyone else?

:welcome:

I know it's been hard for me to sit listening to what is obviously distortion & lies! I had hoped they could point to her saying this monster took our brother from us or something.. Idk what the law is about victims impact statements but today I found a link on a travis alexander support site petition to create...

Travis Alexander's Law: Stop Allowing Highly Prejudicial Claims Against Murder Victims Without Evidence " on Change.org.

Oh, what happened when JW snubbed Jodi? I missed that part!

  • #1,711
OMG! Yes! They would know!!!

I HAD A MAJOR AIRHEAD MOMENT! LOL!

So embarrassed!

ETA - I think I was thinking that she would physically be in the court room and jurors would see her face, but it wouldn't be shown on camera. But they are video taping her, hey? DUH on my part.

You must be blonde (like me!) j/k

If you are....know why blonde jokes are so short? So the brunette's can understand them!

(Told to me by my dad, cause I was the only blonde, curly, wild-haired runt of the litter)

He spoke honestly from his heart, outlining everything the evil monster who took his brother's life has done to him and his family. It truly was a "victim impact" statement...how he and everyone in the family has been impacted by the heinous act of JA.

According to HLN, it even seemed to affect some male members of the Jury in a very emotional way.

But that was yesterday. Today she looked really broken, as if she was overwhelmed by guilt over what she did. I look forward to hearing her statements on Monday. I think she may surprise us.

OT and yes, Melan*e McGu*re's faux pas in getting caught were those pesky GSP tolls and E-Z pass if I'm not mistaken. Sorta' like JA and the memory card in the camera. Ha ha!

(From a former GSP-er Exit 63, LBI---motto "Jersey Girls Don't Pump Gas").

Yes! Correct! She made SO MANY mistakes! I also seem to remember that she used one of the medical blankets from her employer to wrap Bill's body parts in! I think I have that right! It's my fault for bringing it up, but I feel like I need to reopen or refresh a McGuire thread! LOL!

That woman blew my mind! EVIL! Just like Jodi!

Sorry OT!

ETA - Both sets of my grandparents had beach houses on the Jersey Shore. LBI and Cape May. Spent many summers on LBI and have MANY fond memories!

I just keep wondering if she had only stabbed him once and he died how would this trial have gone.

I think if she only stabbed him once, as long as all the other facts of premeditated murder are still a fact, she would have the same verdict. She still did so much more besides the horrible murder of Travis. She planned it, she lied and lied about it & still lies, she drug his name through mud, She tried to kill him even more with lies on the stand. One or 100, same reaction and if a juror, those facts can't be ignored. Good question btw. jmo

I think this jury is really dedicated to seeing justice done. I am so glad Steven and Samantha didnt mention Jodi's name...she didn't need any more billing! I pray for the jury and for them to hang on until they see this through...they are so close. Which ever decision they come back with, I know they have put their hearts and souls into making that call, and will not complain. May God bless each of them.

The quote you are referring to above is not all mine....just want to make it clear, I don't think the jurors are being jerked around and at a quick glance it could appear those were my words by the way it was copied. My quote in totality was:

I personally think this trial could have ended a month ago just by not allowing so many delays.[/QUOTE.]

No I didn't notice the sweater. :floorlaugh:

Jodi has run out of supporters. Even her friend growing up wants to do an taped statement now? Is that correct?

Can I just say I love the evening posts! Today was taxing... IMO the evening posters are the best!

The tension was high today, but I managed to only get one post deleted.

BTW did anyone notice Donavan was wearing the boyfriend sweater today! ;)

the judge said in the beginning, that is not how it goes in Arizona.. every state is different. the statements are to the jury and must not be about the defendant.

Why does Dr D waste time on a "co-host?" He wants to defer to them and it often is at the expense of a knowledgeable panel member.

Interestingly, our WS-er "lil buddy" reminded me that Dr. D does NOT have a PhD in Psychology or Psychiatry. He has some certificate or accolades in Addiction treatment but that's it. He is an MD (Internist).

What's strange is that when he was getting his new show on HLN (maybe announced a year ago or so) I watched the previews of where he talks about his life and experiences. It was strongly implied that he had gone the Psychiatrist route after completing med school. But he did not do the formal academic Psych route in reality.

I'm pretty sure it was "lil buddy" that clarified this for me like a month ago and if so thanks, buddy!
