Well, a juror was kicked off for breaking the law...So why is a witness (with a record) allowed to testify?

I'm confused.

At the very least, the jury should be informed.

Yes, what is the story with that since she has her own issues, could JM let the jury know or does it even matter? I mean all she's going to say is that Jodi behaved herself at the wedding .. mind you though, it's interesting how many people in Jodi's past have a drug history .. considering she judges those who even take a drink.

Interestingly, our WS-er "lil buddy" reminded me that Dr. D does NOT have a PhD in Psychology or Psychiatry. He has some certificate or accolades in Addiction treatment but that's it. He is an MD (Internist).

What's strange is that when he was getting his new show on HLN (maybe announced a year ago or so) I watched the previews of where he talks about his life and experiences. It was strongly implied that he had gone the Psychiatrist route after completing med school. But he did not do the formal academic Psych route in reality.

I'm pretty sure it was "lil buddy" that clarified this for me like a month ago and if so thanks, buddy!

Yes, his posing as a psych expert at times is borderline fraudulent. He does no come right out and claim credentials, but you would definitely get the impression that he had them unless you knew he did not.

I'm just about to watch Steven and Samantha's statements. I've only seen bits and pieces of them so far because I couldn't watch today, and just that little bit was enough to make me cry. This is going to be hard. Can I get a hug??? :cry:

I love that it was Travis' day today. NOTHING other than KN's opining, was about HER. It was all about Travis. And I think that makes it a good day. :grouphug:

That Dr. Drew program is one hot mess. I flipped over to it for a few minutes and his panel was analyzing his reaction to his own reaction to the VIS. I had to rewind and watch a few times to make sure that's really what was being discussed. That's really what was being discussed.

It occurred to me, the one question I wish he would have asked juror #8 was about Jodi's interview where she says she prayed for this particular jury, and how he felt about hearing that and how he would vote.

No, I don't think so.

The whole problem with Arias is that she hasn't been able to take that giant leap...that first little step...whatever you want to call it...for taking any kind of responsibility for killing TA in the premeditated manner she did.

She hasn't been able to bring herself to jump. She gets to the side of the stream but she can't break the ice.....

She has lied...she's become cold...but occasionally because she is still human some kind of humanity flows back through her cold veins and she feels something.

She's had years to fall back into some kind of humanity and she's had months during this trial to break...to let herself become broken and to break down and scream and wail and to tell everybody exactly what happened.

She can't bring herself to do it.

But I do believe that from time to time some human warmth swells in her...after all...she is a human.

Oh Oh Oh.. NO NO NO.. Sorry.. you thought I meant she was taking responsibility or feeling remorse for her actions.. :floorlaugh: NOPE!

I meant she was trying to bond as part of the family like Oh God how could this happen to US kind of thing.. IF she tries to show some kind of remorse it will just be another episode of the 'Jodi Show' to try to save her overly exposed a$$ from get'n the needle!

I think any signs of real emotion tears after lunch break was only because SHE SAT IN THAT CELL IN BASEMENT KNOWING HER GOOSE WAS F'N COOKED! What did Travis say? It always about you Jodi no one else!

Oh yeah...and that "mattress" alright. Good Gawd. No way. I would rather die! I splurge on bed linens and comfy pillows and HAVE to have a comfy bed. We call our bed "The Cloud" because it is so comfy and soft. I would DIE if I had to sleep on a mattress like that. And let's not even talk about having to experience the indecency of having to use the toilet in front of everyone! UGH!

I tried to ask this earlier but it got lost in the rush of posts.

Did anyone see the 20/20 episode about a week ago. I really think that part where the lady escorted the other lady through the re-enactment SET of Travis bathroom was the actual MOVIE SET where the Lifetime movie is being made. The set was just almost perfect and looked to be very expensive set. Also, it was like the escort lady told the other lady not to touch anything because they did it real quick and nobody could touch a thing. I really think this set was the movie set.

Does anyone agree or disagree that saw that 20/20 show?

I think you are correct. I saw it but turned the channel as quick as I could. I mean really, could they wait a month or two?

There's no rule against witnesses having a record. It just puts them at a disadvantage, it's something the other side can exploit.

I'm glad the Steven and Samantha mentioned their military and police service. The way the DT portrayed TA, the jury could have got the idea he came from a family of lowlifes. And after seeing them sitting there all trial, they must have established some kind of connection. I think the siblings did the best they could for TA and for a chance at a DP sentence.

I agree and they displayed what an accomplished, class act family they are. They did in fact have a difficult childhood but look what they've become. They had a wonderful loving "Mum Mum" who raised them well, they have a large close-knit family, they serve their communities and country and have their own families. They overcame their obstacles and have thrived. And then along came a spider named JA who took away their beloved Travis.

Yes, Samantha and Steven threw JA's "PTSD" right back in her death row bound face.
