Patti sent a statement to the news station saying she was too conflicted about the case to testify. Nurmi did not mention that....

Oh my http://t.co/N0Kfr879J7

Besides the threats, she said that her heart went out to the family of Travis Alexander, whom Arias was convicted of killing.

“I couldn’t do it,” she told NBC News in an email. “I feel there is so much good in Jodi to be saved but then also someone’s dear life was taken.”

So it was also the Victim Impact Statements .. well we thought that here too at the time, I remember people discussing that it was too hard for them to stand up after hearing what she did to the Alexanders.

Love that she went to the media, the court can get something about her real thoughts on the record to stuff up the appeal.

Didn't the BTK killer go on for along long time and than some?

yes, but he was detailing his crimes. and he killed a lot of people so it took a long time.

Stephen and Samantha Alexander were dressed nicely when they presented their victim impact statements. I wonder if Jodi will get "dressed up" and have her hair fixed differently for her final appearance before the jury. :moo:

Nurmi ... Did you forget to include this part? ... Once again blah blah blahing to the media is very costly to the queen of blah blah blahing to the media.

bbm - I believe it was the mit spec. who put together that fine list of 8 mitigating factors.

So.... there's that.

I want my ding dang tax dollars back!!!!

I pray these kids had a safe area. This is awful! I've lived here all my life, and we are used to these, but an F-4 or F-5 is HUGE. They think this was an F-4.

CNN is now on KFOR WOW!! but I don't know if I can watch this..

I thought for minute looked good lots of people but IDK a TRUCK IN SCHOOL!

IMO, the judge should have prepared both attorneys before today that if for any reason any of the witnesses get done early or dont want to testify, then Jodi should be ready today.

No excuse for this madness anymore

I hope she did this for tomorrow and told them no more delays - tomorrow is it, they better be prepared.

make any of it public. They could have asked from the beginning to have only sealed testimony. They know the level of interest in the case and already bemoaned what happened to "poor Alyce" so why didn't they ask up front for their mitigation witnesses identity and testimony to be kept sealed-we all know the judge would have granted it.

This is so clearly a fabricated issue. I'm glad the judge called their bluff even though she gave them another day which seems a tad overindulgent since it was always going to be Jodi testifying today, just like last week. It's not like a big surprise and we all know Nurmi was at the jail meeting with her.

Everyone is out of patience with this. She's now a convicted murderer and I think she needs to start getting treated like one. Speak, don't speak, no one cares. The jury needs to finish their work and be released from this interminable trial that is continuing to be manipulated by Jodi and her lawyers.

Seems to me that the offer for in camera testimony pretty much negates any argument about witness intimidation. I think that will be a problem for them on appeal.

She's done a lot of whispering. I know that's not a legal task, But you asked what she's been doing, so ... certainly whispering quite a bit. :thumb:

Yes, and she has worn different outfits nearly every day, and wears makeup ...

I thought she grew a pretty big backbone today. I can't imagine having to preside over a case like this one, where balancing the rights of the defendant against the rights of the State are so crucial; and the defense wants to make the whole thing a never ending objection (and approach). I thought she did well today given that, if it was me, I'd want to call Nurmi over to the bench and give him a big ole smackdown. Not only did he pee all over the legs of the prosecutor (once again), he more or less questioned her rulings in open court. What a gem of an attorney he is. :puke:

also, he wanted his smackdown and tantrum in open court, when EVERYTHING else has been done in chambers and sealed.

Wow ... HLN now showing pix of homes & school in/near OKC that looked like they are just flattened.
Praying that people were able to take shelter.
This is a huge front/storm ... So many in it's path.
Just terrible.

They could try filing an Emergency Appeal with the appellate court. We'll see if they do. The proof is in the pudding.

haven't they already done that b4 and it was turned down?

JA went on TV before KN AND JW were her lawyers.

JA went on TV WHILE KN AND JW were her lawyers.

JA has been posting regularly on TWITTER while KN AND JW are her lawyers.

JA went on TV immediately after a Murder 1 conviction and KN AND JW ARE HER LAWYERS.

NOW KN, JW and JA blame the media hype on the Judge.

EXCELLENT post, thanks.

After this morning's hearing, can we polish up the mitigation factors list?

  • #1,734
I've personally never seen art used as a mitigating factor.
Maybe her drawings will end up on a mimeograph for kindergartners to color.

BBM
Hey!!! I would NEVER subject my kindergarteners to those! I LOVE my kiddies! :floorlaugh:

One of my meteorology professors said that is because most trailer parks are perfectly flat, and tornadoes thrive on flat land.

Humm, never have heard that, interesting. I thought too it was the magnetic metal attraction.

Maybe Def. team will still argue that Jodi is a good friend to these 2 other people.
It's that the other people are not good friends to Jodi

Once again, it's not her fault; it's the other people who are to blame.

Oh, never mind the good friend mit/factor.

Like I said, after thinking about it NO ONE wants to get up on that stand and lie.
When they were kids and now, well there must be something, some side of Jodi that she knows that she does not want to say. I really doubt she is getting death threats, unless they are from friends that are telling her she is nuts.

We do not know everything about Jodi by a long shot. Her own parents, siblings, no one. That tells us all something right there.

There's a really nice thank you from the Alexanders on the FB page. They talk about how much they were struggling before the fund came to their rescue. Such a humble family. They also talk about how much the support has helped them and their plans for Travis' legacy fund
https://www.facebook.com/Justice4Travis?ref=stream&hc_location=timeline

I don't trust the State page for personal reasons. IF they wanted to thank the page, they would have posted it -- instead of having the State page copy and paste. I've seen over 4 different Pay Pal funds for TA. That really bothers me.

Just my opinion - please don't throw tomatoes.
