That means their argument about intimidation is bogus. And they know it.

Womack backed out because she could NOT say Jodi had a horrible childhood thus blowing the "family abandonment" claim out the window. They didn't like what was gonna be left standing once she actually withstood cross.

So then I think they just decided to choreograph this strategy- they being Jodi and Nurmi IMO. And they called in their little media friend to make it happen. How many times have we heard Nurmi claim the jury is watching the media in this trial? And so they put Brewer out there, the very night before jury will deliberate, with no cross, with soft ball questions orchestrated by Michael Kiefer. It's so obvious I'm surprised it took me this long to figure it out.

I didn't hear DB's original testimony. When I listened to what he told those folks at AZC, I thought - "This was all part of the DP plan"...It was just too coincidental to me that DB would finally decide to "speak out", you know? KN used the same excuse in court today about how JM intimidated ALV and now JM has intimidated the childhood girlfriend - Oh! And the Court allowed it Again! Pure BS. Then his excuse for not calling ANY witnesses was because it wouldn't be a "complete picture" or something stupid like that was ridiculous IMO.

It's my opinion that CMA will NOT get in front of the jury tomorrow. That would not be within her IQ level if you will.

Great Sleuthin' my Friends !!!

What I don't understand is why was it ok to go on Nancy Grace and whatever news show paid her for her photos, but all of a sudden now that someone will cross examine her its a huge issue and she has to plead the 5th.

She wasn't so worried about things then now was she?

I guess its hard to vouch for some ones character if you have a bad character yourself.

They had a 3 day weekend to cook it up. We had just a few hrs to digest it. ;)

Gross. Let me say this about that little Lin Sue Cooney. She used to get her hair done at the same salon I did ... Dammitall if she wasn't on the same root-touch-up schedule as I was ...and she was there practically every time I went. The cute gals who worked there hated her like butter hates Paula Deen. She was very well-known around town to be a gold-digging-social-climbing snotty snot ( Not my words) who would get into bed with anybody who could afford her an exclusive.

Kiefer was the last reporter in court today. There was almost no seat for him. He rushed in at the last minute. Was he setting this up?

Imo this was all set up thurs or fri when dt filed a motion to preclude states witness. I am thinking that Juan had found a witness to rebuttal dt mitigations from testimony of patty and db.

Mk knew this was all coming down. Nurmi had not used that much energy the entire trial...but he stomped around today...no coincidence. Jmo

I just talked about it for the first time out loud this past weekend. He's been trashing Travis, to me, throughout this trial.

Funny how all of these DT "supporters" just can't stay quiet, they have been giving all of the moves up... sick game of chess I say.

  • #466
So why didn't Keifer & the DT do a faux "interview" with the Arias clan?
Wouldn't that have more impact on the errant juror(s)?

  • #467
Now I'm thinking Jodi's interview was planned by her DT too ..

Ya know the reasons I don't think so are this:

I find Troy Hayden credible and if he says they didn't know, I believe him.

That interview really could HURT her. It could have been used on cross should any mitigation witnesses testify and may have been one of the reasons they put NO ONE on.

I have a credible source who told me there was a HUGE blowout right after court that day w/ JA and her attorneys I'm assuming over her insistence to do that.

I think MK is the only reporter they really have in their pocket. I just think Hayden was operating from a "big coup get" on that interview.

BBM~ Yes, Jodi saw "The Secret", got her boob job and stopped paying the bills.
She had her goal set on meeting a powerful, wealthy LDS husband. DB just did not make the cut, so she abstained from giving him sex. She was not abstaining within a week of meeting Travis.

Is this movie supposed to be where the main character did these things? I have not seen this movie. Upon hearing that Jodi based her new life on it, I decided it was best that I stay away from it, so as not to be influenced by anything that influenced her craziness.

Well they were never on the list to testify. They've not spoken to any media..but DB was fired up and ready and willing to help her in any way he could. This was the way he chose.

I kinda sorta figured but after today, you are probably correct about that. Dam, we're good !!!

Linda, Travis' ex said she invited Travis to the fair in Oct. 2006. It was at that time Travis told Linda he was datng a girl name jodi. He told her jodi was a pathalogical liar. Travis said she was making up lies about her ex. That would be DB. Keep in mind, jodi said she started dating Travis in Feb 2007. Sounds like she did not want DB to know she was cheating on him.

It's hard to believe this is what our justice system has become. The games attorneys play are horrific. You're theory may be right. It was obvious at the end of all the motions that Nurmi and Wilmont were startled that the judge was ready to continue with JA's statement. They did not know what to say except to quickly ask for a sidebar. JA had more than a week to prepare her statement. Guess they needed another delay so that Darryl Brewer's interview could take place prior to JA's statement.

Where do attorneys learn these tactics?

Very old tactic.

Haynes has lived by the advice of his mentor, legendary Texas trial lawyer Percy Foreman: “If you can prove the victim abused a dog or a horse, you can convince the jury that the guy deserved to be killed.”

“For some reason,” Haynes continues, “cats don’t apply.”
........

There was a trial in the 1970s in which the prosecutor refused to call a key witness because he knew Haynes would tear him apart on cross-examination. Furious, Haynes used his closing argument to cross-examine an empty witness chair, asking the same probing questions he would have asked the absentee witness.
........
Haynes loves discussing his cases to teach young lawyers about trial practice. In 1978, he told attendees at an ABA meeting in New York City that attorneys too often limit their strategic defense options in court. When evidence inevitably surfaces that contradicts the defense’s position, lawyers need to have a backup plan.

“Say you sue me because you say my dog bit you,” he told the audience. “Well, now this is my defense: My dog doesn’t bite. And second, in the alternative, my dog was tied up that night. And third, I don’t believe you really got bit.”

His final defense, he said, would be: “I don’t have a dog.”

lemme look at it again, I was interviewed in that lobby and know that hotel now like the back of my hand. I'll be able to tell I think.

He's sitting beside a brown globe.

Speak out after he refused his face on camera before! BS! He could have TESTIFIED off camera and SEALED. But instead he gets interviewed on camera. Uh huh.

And how can he argue "incomplete picture" with a straight face with her ENTIRE FAMILY sitting right there? I actually wrote that in my notebook today.

I dont believe he was thinking about marrying her. Getting married and having another child would not stop visitation with his son. Nonsense.:floorlaugh:

He didn't say it would stop the visitation. He said it would take what little time he had away from the first kid if he and Jodi had another kid. But your statement makes me wonder if the first mother didn't say she'd make it hard on him if he had a second child. Because that's just a weird statement to make, imo. That a second child would take away from the first child from another marriage, and this is the reason NOT to get married or have more children. I know we can't sleuth him, but it might be that he still has no other child for a very reason like this.

An overbearing ex-wife might have upset Jodi and made her even more crazy when Travis' exes and friends were also "meddling" in her new relationship with him. Just a thought.

Do you suppose the DT knew that Troy Hayden was on Juan's rebuttal witness list and therefore, wanted to make dam sure JM could not rebut any witnesses, therefore, the set-up and plan NOT to have any CMA Mitigation Witnesses?

So it took a couple hours to piece together what happened today? Well...what a fine group here. My thanks.

  • #479
Oh she got confused between weekly Jehovah Witnesses knocking at her door and the LDS guys she invited over....gar

Seriously or joking? Cause I really didn't know what they were talking about or getting at back when I was watching it. Didn't help that DB's voice was lulling me to sleep.

The DT called out Juan for his photo op awhile back outside the courthouse.

He will not let them forgive this. :twocents: Juan has exited the courthouse quietly since that fiasco. I almost feel this trial has gone way too far.

Come on Jodi, spill the beans. :please: Accept the DP so everyone can heal from this tragedy.
