Well, the joke is on them because I believe wholeheartedly that the jury has followed the judge's admonition to the letter. They won't find out about this interview until the trial is over.

Main points by Daryl in interview

Jury: whole other life to Jodi, where she was CHERISHED, good worker, girl, mature, good friend, caring, trusted with son, no reason to fear for his safety. Mentions jury a fair bit. Grow as an artist, spring 2006 she changed and he watched her change, PPL and the Mormon Church .. started lack of responsibility and magical thinking. JA thought positive intention and goodwill enough to attract money. He's thankful he's not on that jury.

Change happened within Jodi within 18 months, after he left until this crime.

Q: Did something happen to Jodi?

He saw that change .. unrecognisable, wasn't a liar, wasn't manipulative, not evil.

MK: What would you tell the jury about what it was like when you were together, what what she like, do you have anecdotes?

Loving and kind, like an Aunty to his son. Palm Desert move etc .. very loving, monogamous relationship, had friends, camping fishing, work, bowling, great relationships, and fondly thought of …

Q:Where are they ..

not enough of an effort to reach out to them.

Q: Breakup why?

He wanted to marry her and have a child, but he had a child, and he already had one wanted to spend time with his child, then she broke up with him? She only wanted marriage after Mormon conversion. Then the sin came in and she wanted to save herself for a mormon husband. Jodi unrecognisable, Jodi needs help. She became irresponsible after being responsible, had 12k in the bank, she wasn't taking HIM for a ride, because he didn't have any money. She changed into different person ..

Q: How would your testimony to help.

She didn't go from one abusive relationship to another, their relationship was NOT abusive .. He doesn't know what happened to her in that last year and a half .. talking magically again PPL program, 'don't talk negative to her' had to keep things positive.

Q: Do you pity Jodi.

He thinks she needs help, old jodi still in her, productive member of society even behind bars

MK: which is the jodi that you saw when she came to visit you in Monterey?

That morning, seemed normal, happy, checked email, explains gas cans as normal. Upbeat, doesn't think gas cans sinister, he had no experience of her being sinister, manipulative or dishonest.

HE NEVER MADE IT INTO THE COURTROOM TODAY, HE WAS STALLED!!!!!! WITH MK WHO WAS LATE AS PER KCL?

No testimony he learned later and he was shocked, no mention of expecting to testify today .. very telling. So why did he return today?

Legal manoeuvring, would you be OK with that if it spares Jodi's life. He knows nothing of any manoeuvres .. sure…

Why show your face now .. now he doesn't care about going public. Mentions harassment etc accusations against him, nothing he's hiding from, he didn't know Travis, knew nothing of crime. Voice cracks when he says he didn't know she was going to Mesa.

Trail polluted from the first, appeals will be interesting he thinks, lots of criticism of the way the trial has been handled. still cares for Jodi Arias, but he's not in love blah blah blah ..

Heinous crime, can't condone it, shock .. back to JA being a member of his family.

HE DOES NOT BELIEVE IN STATE KILLING, TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT.

End very telling.

Well they were never on the list to testify. They've not spoken to any media..but DB was fired up and ready and willing to help her in any way he could. This was the way he chose.

I don't get it.
I could see this as something Jodi cooked up because she thinks the media is going to help her (still!?!?!?). I could see her begging DB to talk to the media.
I don't think the lawyers are down.

Linda, Travis' ex said she invited Travis to the fair in Oct. 2006. It was at that time Travis told Linda he was datng a girl name jodi. He told her jodi was a pathalogical liar. Travis said she was making up lies about her ex. That would be DB. Keep in mind, jodi said she started dating Travis in Feb 2007. Sounds like she did not want DB to know she was cheating on him.

That's interesting. And that Ex would be "DB," if she wasn't lying completely and making up a fictional ex.

She said she and Travis were "official" in Feb 2007. She told Ryan that with the linda thing, she'd been the other woman, but with the next "cheating" thing, she'd been the girlfriend.

Then she went back to being the other woman with Mimi, if I have the story right.

Do you suppose the DT knew that Troy Hayden was on Juan's rebuttal witness list and therefore, wanted to make dam sure JM could not rebut any witnesses, therefore, the set-up and plan NOT to have any CMA Mitigation Witnesses?

Ok even my penetrating brain tonite cannot dive in to this inquiry. Let me chew on it a bit lol

Hayden just has never been a "in the defense pocket" reporter. He has though been one who stumbled upon an great opportunity to interview a murderer while on trial. I think that's been his only motivation really..the "get".

DB said he was close to asking her to marrying him, but he didn't want to have kids because it would take away from the first kid.

I can imagine that when she figured that out, that's when she jumped straight into PPL and this Mormon thing. She knew Darryl would always put his son first, even before her, and so she had to leave him to find someone who'd make her the center of the universe. I believe JM when he said she thought she'd get that in mormon husband.

But how did she get involved in PPL? She met Travis at a PPL conference. So she was already involved in that before he was in the picture.

According to DB's testimony someone "at work," many months before JA met Travis, according to her.

DB's time frame didn't match hers, though. And there is something so creepy about both his testimony and his staged interview. I can't quite figure out what it is, but something was very wrong there. Nobody is as perfect as DB paints JA, and we know she could not have been close to what he claims. So, what is he getting out of this?

Note how he answers when asked how he knows JA, at 8:17 near the beginning. Who does that?

He didn't say it would stop the visitation. He said it would take what little time he had away from the first kid if he and Jodi had another kid. But your statement makes me wonder if the first mother didn't say she'd make it hard on him if he had a second child. Because that's just a weird statement to make, imo. That a second child would take away from the first child from another marriage, and this is the reason NOT to get married or have more children. I know we can't sleuth him, but it might be that he still has no other child for a very reason like this.

An overbearing ex-wife might have upset Jodi and made her even more crazy when Travis' exes and friends were also "meddling" in her new relationship with him. Just a thought.

His son would visit him at his home. It would not take time away from him. My kids visited their father on the weekends. Their father had 5 other children. The whole interview was staged. I think Brewer was hoping the jury turns on the tv when tbey get home. He can say his piece without JM asking him questions.

Speak out after he refused his face on camera before! BS! He could have TESTIFIED off camera and SEALED. But instead he gets interviewed on camera. Uh huh.

And how can he argue "incomplete picture" with a straight face with her ENTIRE FAMILY sitting right there? I actually wrote that in my notebook today.

I remember during Juan's cross of Brewer that he asked him about contacting the producer of 48 hours. First Brewer denied he had contact, but when Juan brought up Brewer meeting him for lunch. Brewer caved and then said that he did but he was not seeking any compensation. (Sort of off topic Another question that Juan asked that always baffled me was he asked if Matt was with JA when she picked up the gas cans. He said that JA was alone. Always wondered why he asked him this question)

If your theory is right, I wonder if Brewer was a willing participant or if he needed a little inducement.

Well after watching it again I am stunned .. he didn't make it into court because he was stalled, and why on earth was he there today when he wasn't testifying and said he had to fly home over the weekend? For this IMO, he flew back for this interview. I am sure of it now ..

Ok I think I've gotten today figured out now.

I think they NEVER intended, after last week, to put on any mitigation witnesses. I think they knew the risk that would occur during cross would be more devastating than these "nobodys" in terms of Arias could do to help her (esp w/ her own family sitting in there oddly mute in front of the jury).

I believe they knew there was no way they'd get a mistrial out of this.

I believe they in some kind of desperate last min move, decided to throw themselves under the bus to set up an ineffective counsel appeal (that won't work). From what I've seen, it doesn't appear Willmott was thrilled about this last strategy which could have been cooked up by Jodi herself!

I do not think that Daryl Brewer belived he'd be testifying torday. I don't think the interview done with him was any accident. I think that was also totally cued up and ready to fire. That was Michael Kiefer speaking to him in the background who got his pal Lin Sue Cooney to do the front of camera stuff. This was not done for HER news station but HIS (AZ CEntral, an extension of the NEWSPAPER). Kiefer's trying to distance himself but I believe, based on all I know, that he was hipped up to this before court today and ready to go with his "interview" of Darryl Brewer.

I think this was all carefully choreographed. I think the defense decided to launch Brewer's "testimony" via Kiefer hoping the jurors might see it without him having to be cross examined.

I do think it was that well thought out/planned.
Including Nurmi's faux outrage and temper tantrum.
WHAT???

So, Kiefer cried witness threats and intimidation...then, HE is the one who did this interview!!?? OMG...new lows from that guy. He is SO pro-defense. Was he in court this morning, or kissing DB's arse? You are so right KCL, all a freaking set-up. Kiefer should be ashamed of himself...has sold his soul for an interview. So glad he didn't get the one with the convicted killer.

If DB was scared, he sure didn't have to show his face to the entire world today. Wonder how much he got paid? Seriously!

Do these people not remember there was a man who was MURDERED??? Trials should be about justice, and not antics! We need some serious reform in our justice system. I am so sick of the victims and their families being on trial! While these younger, white, semi-goodlooking, woman who have nothing to offer but sex, get away with throwing everyone and their brother under the bus. And...their cohorts end up making $$$.

Seriously or joking? Cause I really didn't know what they were talking about or getting at back when I was watching it. Didn't help that DB's voice was lulling me to sleep.

During his interview I had to almost laugh... Imagining... Between Jodi's exploitative usage of the $10 words and DB's bizarre over-enunciations and inflections what their conversations must have been like .... I pictured the salt and pepper shaker on their kitchen table making a suicide pact.

re: Timelines

If this pic's date is correct, that means Jodi was baptized before her and Brewer broke up.

That's right. what I'd like to see though is a REAL reporter do some digging and expose that entire deal so it can be utilized when they try to fly this on an appeal. I may have a couple conversations tomorrow....

Please have those conversations...Set-ups and cover-ups...:seeya:

Oh it absolutely reeks of JA "strategery"! She thinks she's soooo cunning...she couldn't repress that smug grin on her face. She just doesn't get it that things aren't gonna go the way she wants them to go. This move is gonna soooooo backfire on her.

:trainwreck:

You nailed it with William H. Macy, but I think more like his character in "Pleasantville". Stiff, Preacher-Like, Uber Vanilla.
(His Jerry Lundegaard was a bit more animated..."You're Darn Tootin'!").

The oily salesman Jerry Lundegaard nails it. Prefect.

Yup. I betcha he knew Friday he was not going to testify today. A nice little tactic on the DT part, but Nurmi should take some acting lessons because I sae right through his phony tantrum.

Dirty, rotten journalists! :stormingmad:

So they are building up to this banger of a wallop of ending for JA to spew her last words before the jury? Yelp.

Kiefer was very late entering court today. LONG after everyone else was in there. And "miraculously" somewhere along the way Brewer finds out he's not to testify (although it's never been clear who decided that or why or when) and manages to contact Kiefer, who manages to contact news anchor Lin Sue Cooney who manage to find a cheezy spot w/ a globe and faux plants and horizontal blinds to conduct this interview nearly immediately after Nurmi "impulsively" decides to call no witnesses in mitigation! The choreography is threading so many needles it's like a Martha Stewart sewing party.

Brewer manages to avoid cross examination but tell his story uninterrupted on this video which manages to make it on...drumroll....Kiefer's paper's website! I did not see it aired on Channel 12...hmmmm....

How convenient. How predictable. How unethical. IMO of course.
