I read sometime w/in the past week that of the last 18 juries (death penalty) in Maricopa County, 14 of them returned the death penalty. (If I recall correctly.) Anyone else read this?

Seems like they are all women, about the same age, with the same accent.

A WS'er should call and offer some valuable perspective on jury deliberations. We need to class HLN up. :Crown:

:pillowfight2:

Ok I admit it. I'm now officially worried.

It's typical of this trial. Nothing ever goes as planned. It figures this would happen. Unbelievable. Sigh.

Come on, step away from the ledge.

I recall many posters freaking out during the guilt phase deliberations as well. This jury hasn't let us down yet. And if they do end up being hung, it's not the end of the world. She's still been convicted of 1st degree murder and at the very least will get a life sentence. That's a good thing.

Jean C reports juror sighting of group of four jurors in cafeteria by Grace Wong. Miss Wong felt these jurors weren't very bonded based on body language
Also reports that sealing a jury question is not the norm in this jurisdiction

:eek::eek::eek: Isn't she the one who had to take the stand when all that other trouble was started by Jean C ?

:scared::scared::scared::scared:

i wish i knew what in the world JA and JW are in such a huddle about.

All that serious talking and Nurmi just sits there. He wishes the jury would hurry up too.

Maybe I'm wrong, but Jodi is smiling when Wilmott sits down and appears to have said "What was it?" or something.. A few secs later, the smirk is wiped off her face. She then tenses up. She keeps talking even through the judges first words like she's ranting. I think it was bad for the defense from this video.

That's the same way I saw it.

On the NG show, do they still ask about her twins? That used to be a requirement to get through to her show at night.

Whoa horsie! Hold up.

This is the thing... the judge has SEALED these questions. Remember that part I was talking about the other day about "preserving the intergrity of the court proceedings". And, though I know we have some very talented folks here and I have faith in you guys more than you know, we do not have a verified lip reader here. ;)

Let's just keep this speculation off the board for now. If/when the jury reaches a verdict or when the judge dismisses them, then the doors will be wide open. I am stickler for honoring Judge's orders though.

Thanks for the restraint. I know how hard it is. :blowkiss:

I just wanted to let you know

I did not post what I saw
I love WS to much to get anyone in trouble

The Atlantic City odds on this being 11 to 1, can no longer be wagered on. That's how sure they feel about this being One hold-out. I'll re-state what I posted earlier. I think if you take a moment and think deep on this, you'll have to agree. This is what I said:

Going back to the first letter to the judge, just a couple hours in, saying they were deadlocked can only mean One thing.

I believe it can only indicate that someone on the Jury, One Juror, had already told the Foreman that there is No way they are going to issue JA a DP. That's the only way I think it possible for a letter like that to go out, after just a couple/few hours...IOW, this person was saying that there is no point in having deliberations because there is No way they will change their mind.

Seems to me if they're "passing the time", they're not stressed out. Let's take some comfort from that since JM would have told them the question and whether it was good or bad.

HLN is really scratching the bottom of the barrel for things to kill time with.

They take this "talking head" stuff seriously, apparently. I mean I understand in their business dead air is....deadly. But really...yadda yadda yadda. If Beth K. or Mark Eyelash isn't on, my mute button gets a workout. :)

Over 10 hours for deliberating.

I forget how long it took for them to come back with the guilty verdict. Anyone remember?

WHAT?? Are you implying that JA would lie about needing glasses? You so crazy. :floorlaugh:
She needs glasses to see objects at a distance, not for reading/things close up. JA was right up in the jurors' faces during allocution. Even if she wanted to give the impression that she was looking them in the eyes, I think she'd prefer not to really "see" them. Finally, HLN has a slideshow on its website that shows her commissary purchases over the years. She paid around $10 for her first pair of glasses in September 2008. Very weak prescription (1.25 power), if I recall correctly.

Only every single night!
