It is not just you! I have felt there might be a pedo ring from the start. At the very least blackmail of some kind. When I look at the construction projects Poole Anderson started doing for PSU in the year 2000 and on I think about the 1998 report about Jerry that was buried and no charges ever filed. The Second Mile board has close — and very lucrative — ties to the university.

Dorothy "Dottie" Huck and her husband, Lloyd, are big Penn State donors. In total, the Hucks have given the university more than $20 million.

Lloyd Huck, a former chairman of the board at Merck, sits on the Penn State board of trustees. Dottie Huck sits on the board of The Second Mile. In the last five years, the Hucks gave more than $21,000 to The Second Mile, and Merck gave at least another $8,000.
"I think the function of The Second Mile has been good for many, many children," Lloyd Huck told The Patriot-News on Tuesday. "We think the organization — which doesn’t include Jerry Sandusky — is still doing very much good."

Huck noted that his wife works with the kids as well as serving on the board.
The late William A. Schreyer, former CEO of Merrill Lynch and former chairman of Penn State’s board of trustees, gave more than $58 million to the university. Schreyer’s daughter, DrueAnne, has served on The Second Mile board of directors since at least 1997.

In the last five years, The Schreyer Foundation and DrueAnne have donated more than $224,000 to The Second Mile.

Attempts to contact DrueAnne were unsuccessful.

A window at Jerry Sandusky's College Township home was broken early Friday morning, the second instance of reported vandalism that has targeted the house since Sandusky was indicted on charges of child sexual abuse on Nov. 4.

Despite the repeated targeting of Sandusky's residence, police will not be provide around-the-clock protection there, King said.

SCRANTON— Joe Paterno and ousted Penn State President Graham Spanier abdicated their responsibilities in failing to prevent or stop the alleged sexual abuse of children at the hands of a former Nittany Lion assistant coach, a pair of university trustees said.

Trustee Keith Eckel said Thursday that Paterno’s statement expressing regret that he hadn’t “done more” about the alleged abuse by Jerry Sandusky was “probably the most telling as far as us moving forward and looking at the coach,” The Times-Tribune of Scranton reported.

“The trustees expected more,” Eckel said. “It told me that he recognized his stature, his leadership position and that demanded more. The decision of the trustees was not based on the legality. It was based on what we believed was right for the university at that moment and moving forward.”

Another trustee, Barron L. “Boots” Hetherington, told the Pottsville Republican & Herald that neither Paterno nor Spanier rose to the challenge to do the right thing.

“People did the minimum required by the laws of Pennsylvania but, in most cases, it didn’t pass the moral test,” Hetherington said.

I don't see anything suspicious about the above list. Penn State's main campus has 55,000+ students (92,000 total students) and an operating budget of $4 BILLION dollars. There is always some building being constructed and multiple areas of construction on this campus. The above list represents only a tiny fraction of 13 years of construction on that campus. Poole Anderson Construction only worked on a tiny fraction of Penn State's construction projects. Realize that all state construction must be "put out to bid" as required by the PA law.

Are you implying that extremely generous Lloyd and Dottie Huck and Druann Schreyer's family knew Sandusky was a pedophile and that their gifts of millions (to an organization for underprivileged kids) is a "rabbit hole"? Do you have a link/any evidence showing that these very generous people knew Sandusky was a pedophile?

It is more likely that Sandusky was able to rape little boys over all these years because very FEW people knew he was a pedophile rather than there was a giant conspiracy involving philanthropists who intentionally enabled Sandusky to rape children.

Exactly and the bid doesn't always go to the lowest bidder. There is a formal process and everything has to be bid but it does nothing to stop sweetheart deals from being put in place.

I'm not sure why this bothers me so much.....

Even after 2008, Sandusky continued fundraising and Penn State continued to send its Nittany Lion mascot to help out.

In 2009, when the mascot posed for photos next to Sandusky and Second Mile donors on a golf course in Chester County, Sandusky was already under investigation by the grand jury.
