I doubt if it could have been avoided. From what I understand NBC got the scoop that Sandusky didn't testify because the prosecution had notified the defense it had MS set to rebutt. A gag order isn't going to stop a determined reporter.

Oh Good Lord. This is painful. The waiting and wrangling. He's as guilty as can be. Let's just get this over with already!

I understand - I'm impatient also. But, this jury has been asked to make decisions that will affect the lives of every person involved (including their own) and I appreciate that they are being very serious with each detail. It doesn't appear they are taking their duties lightly and I applaud them for that. moo

Actually, if this jury doesn't come back with a verdict soon, I think I'm going to be beyond cake and more into looking for a stray Xanax to gulp down instead!

Do they have to come back with a "guilty" on all of the accounts for each victim in order to send this guy away?

As an example and not referencing any certain victim in this particular case......What if they come back with guilty for all accounts for Victim A and Non-Guilty for all accounts for Victim B. Or what if Victim A has Guilty for counts 1, 2, 4 and Not Guilty for 3 and 5.

No, for example, in Victim 6, Sandusky could be found guilty of Corruption of Minors, but not Indecent Assault. He'd be sentenced for Corruption.

I think they are very close. In fact, I think they probably already have verdicts on most of the charges.

it is not unusual at all for jurors to get confused about jury charges (instructions). They often ask for clarification. Although they usually don't get many answers.

Yup Beach is right. Juries SHOULD ask questions. Unlike a certain other FL jury that didn't ask a SINGLE question or ask for ANY read backs.

Regardless if I will agree with this jury's decision I can respect this one, unlike the one in FL. At least they are putting actual deliberation into this verdict.

INSession is done as of 3 p.m. EST If you have CNN or HLN they give updates and will break in if a verdict is reached. Heck prolly every channel will have it as breaking news.

Meanwhile, I'm sitting away from the windows as directed during some very nasty T-Storms. Losing my electric and wi-fi will also insure a verdict. LOL

That's what I'm thinking...they should be thru at least by tomorrow, if not late tonite. Good, serious jury..now if they only are giving the outcome that is needed! I honestly think so or they wouldn't have been so quick...they'd still be arguing. Also the fact now we know they are asking if the hearsay evidence is enough for a guilty vote on this one case and were told no, but they can use circumstantial evidence too, which is there.

Good God! I sure wish somebody would have explained it like this to the Pinellas 12. It probably wouldn't have made any difference but still, maybe even ONE of them would have had an "AHA!" moment.

PREACH it Beach! I wish it was also explained like this. The Pinellas 12 didn't think circumstantial evidence carried as much weight as physical evidence does, which is wrong they both carry the same amount of weight.

I heard on the way in today on one of the Philly sports stations that the media is not allowed to have any electronic device in the courtroom (blackberry, cell, ipad, etc.). They said the judge said that once the verdict is read, no one is allowed to leave the courtroom until the judge dismisses.

So my questions is (sorry, have lots of questions today), we'll know when the verdict is in and at what time it will be read. But how long until we know????How long is it going to take to get the word to the public?
