From Dan Wetzel's AP article today-

I have never seen anything like this article. This was pure rage and pain.

Wow and Wow again!!

Thanks, believe09, for passing that along. What an amazing article! He said those words for so many people, IMO. This man has to know how it feels or be close to one or those who do. Whew! He got it said without being nasty or mean-spirited, but he called it what it was and put it on record. Beautifully done. Bravo, Dan Wetzel!!

Anyone else curious to the death of the DA? Is it being re-investigated? Also this missing young man? To think a cover-up and possible murders involved deepens how far this goes and Sandusky has "friends" that would help him out.
I have followed the Gricar case, and when it came out he was connected to this case it sure put a new slant on things to me. I sure hope they reinvestigate this. Football and money were more important then the children. Hope they all go down.

Per HLN. Dottie showing up where Jer is currently jailed. Carrying a big plastic clear bag. Cant tell whats in it.

I read somewhere that Sandusky has sleep apnea and must use a machine at night to help him breathe. Perhaps that's it.

I read it last night and wanted to post it but I was out with friends and on the phone for much too much of the night due to this beautiful verdict!

This is one article EVERYONE should read. I have been following the writer. He is incredible.

Most people get out of denial after they've been in jail a few months. There's still time for him to flip.

According to Marcia Clark, pedophiles don't ever get out of denial. She has never seen one, in her decades-long career, admit to what they have done.

Sandusky Lawyer per HLN-Jer said his goodbye's prior to the Verdict read. Said good bye to his dogs too :floorlaugh: He and his Family prayed together. Jer has a sleep apnea machine and has to sleep sitting up. Lawyer is afraid they wont allow it in the jail. Dear Gawd :banghead:

I don't mind if he dies. What he has done is beyond the pale. He took advantage of the fragile and almost destroyed several young lives.

Thanks button was not enough. I can't imagine the poor boy, thinking someone could save him, rescue him from that HELL and they didn't! I agree people would look at the situation differently if it were their tiny little son in the shower. Also the absence of sincere, heartfelt apologies to that boy and his family for the way McQ failed them that day speaks VOLUMES. All I've heard from McQ is self-pity and justification for his inaction. He does not deserve to coach and be a role model for young men. All IMO...

No, you are 100% right. The child saw McQueary look at the scene and the fact that he did nothing at that moment, like, "Hey! What the heck is going on?" That simply reiterated to the child that his victimization was okay, that he was worthless. Another adult saw what was happening and ignored it.

hes going down and hes not coming back up. i applaud jj for his participation as a stater, but hes way off on this. sandusky is done.

read the sentencing philosophy posted above. there is just so much in this case that calls for a special harsh maximum sentence. the judge would have to be an idiot, along the lines of amendola say, to go with anything less than effective life behind bars for the monster.

anything is possible, but not this time pervert.

and for a good laugh, fox last night had some defense atty giving audio advice as the verdict was coming down and he actually said that sandusky should be given an extremely light sentence because a stronger one would be an effective death sentence and since we cant be CERTAIN hes guilty the court needs to air on the side of leniency. 2 pts...1. in what world are we not certain (only in a defense attys world) and 2., what he is saying is, because he can't do the time, don't give it to him.

it was sickeningly funny.

Agreed. No way Sandusky will get 20 years or less. This was a stain on Pennsylvania and the university. The judge can and will send a strong message. Every legal expert expects Sandusky to die in prison. He's never getting out, as it should be. If only we sentenced every pedophile in such a manner.

We have nine threads on it.

Could be but the bag didn't seem heavy. Those machines have some weight to them. I dont have one but have handled one at work. Appeared to be several items in that bag. What the heck would they talk about???

Given Jer's future high carb diet, sleep apnea (can lead to heart disease if untreated) I'm sure that will shave off years of his life. I'm more than good with that.

He'll get several hundred, but they or most of them, will be concurrent.

He gets 14 20 year terms. Most, if not all, will start in 2012 and end in 2032. I mean, they let people with life sentences out in PA.

The pedophile priest in Phila that plead to IDSI with a 10 year old got 2.5-5. I'm told he'll be out in 2 years, with good behavior. Now, he turned state's evidence, but still.

Further the sentences are appealable; just the length of the sentence on if he was sentenced properly.

I'm also not certain how much you have serve before parole.

MSNBC reported this and I hope it is true:

Several of the counts are so-called mandated felonies, meaning Cleland has no discretion in sentencing. NBC News reported that he faces a minimum of 60 years in prison.

Wanted to add something from my prior post. I didn't understand my GF at age 16. What did i know then about Victimology. She was getting married the next year at age 18 :what: That was her out. My anger at her was for her younger sister left behind if she wasn't going to out him. She also said her Mother knew but told her to keep quiet. There was a status to be upheld :banghead: I knew then that Family never had it all but I sure did. My Parent's listened and they believed what i saw and was told. And they did something about it too. Today i realize that had to be huge for them. It would have been 40 years ago. Didn't want any Victims reading thinking i didn't understand their silence.

Heh, maybe all he's getting are nasal strips! He's a convict now-- apnea machines are for people with good insurance. Otherwise, what's the harm in him waking many times per night, it's not like it will cut into his productivity.

And, hundreds of thousands of people suffered apnea before they came up with a machine to help with it. Also, they better NOT let him have anything with tubing-- he night try to off himself!

Let him snore and gasp, who gives a rat's patooty! :snooty:

Wonder if Jer will do an Interview once sentenced. You know. Tell his side of things. Especially in light of the Prosecution squashing his chance with the "threat" of Matt :floorlaugh:
