People Magazine - Caylee Anthony's Family Secrets

I don't have an opinion on whether he would be happier staying or going, but in general I would not recommend someone stay in an dysfunctional relationship for the sake of "love". It is sometimes really difficult to see how unhappy you have become (though being in the psych ward is usually a good clue that something needs to change) or predict how happy you would be on your own.

George is in the psych ward because his daughter killed his granddaughter.

I read most of the article while in the checkout line at the grocery store. The "source" didn't say that Cindy went around calling George stupid all the time, just that there was still distance and problems between them after they got back together. I can see why if George lost $30,000. He still hadn't told Cindy the truth when he was being interviewed by LE.

I'm really not sure if she knew or didn't when she called 911. I think she may have called because she knew it had gotten to a point where someone else might if she didn't (eg the tow truck place, co-workers). She did tell Amy Casey could go to jail if she didn't find her. The cheques hadn't been reported, so what was she talking about? And in her own words to Casey "I've given you 31 days." I'd be more inclined to believe the call was geninue if she'd said "I've given you 12 hours".

if CA would have only given KC 12 hours then called the police and told them her daughter left home with her daughter and now she is not letting her talk to or see Caylee, police would have said its her child not yours. A mother can take her child away from the grandparents home.Grandparents have very few rights.

Bunnyphoenix, Cindy was talking about Casey going to jail for stealing from Cindy's dad's retirement account.

All she meant by "given you 31 days" is given you 31 days to bring Caylee home to see us. Cindy and Casey were on the phone nearly every day during those 31 days.

Grandparents have NO legal rights unless granted by the courts.

If CA knew it would cost money to seek legal custody, then she knew this fact.

Funny how we watch the same shows read the same documents but have totally different opionions. I watched a woman who was exhausted trying to get her granddaughter s picture out to the public. She did not want anything to get in the way of people looking for Caylee. She even said in one interview with the police she did not care KC was in jail she just wanted Caylee back. She knew her daughter stole money, she knew her daughter lied but she did not know her daughter would kill her granddaughter. If she really wanted to help KC instead of wanting the truth about where Caylee was she never would have picked up that phone.JMO but I am entitled to it.

Very good post and I agree with you completely. I bet if we were truthful, most of us would have reacted a lot the same way, maybe even worse. If I had had protestors camped out on my yard every day and night, and the media following me everywhere I went, I might have seriously hurt a few of them! Some cameras would have got smashed, and some protestors would have been sporting a few black eyes!
I have no doubt that George and Cindy love Caylee... and it will take a lot to convince them that their daughter killed her. They can't turn their love for their child off like a faucet. In time, they will probably accept it and not support her anymore, but if they do... we can't change their minds for them, and it's their choice... not ours.

Yes, me too! I completely agree.

Not so. Anyone can call LE and ask them to do a welfare check on a minor--you can be a neighbor and say "I haven't seen the little one for a week and am concerned" and the parent has to produce the child.

it is truley amazing how a lot of facts are ignored, and a lot of speculation is embraced as truth.......JMO

I agree with you to a point:) Personally you wont see me bashing the A's or anyone for that matter. But that apply's to JG to and anyone else in this nightmare except KC of course.I might not like what some of them do and say but I most certainly dont bash them personally. Honestly we dont know all the fact and probably never will. So in IMO no one deserves to be bashed personally except one person and thats KC:crazy:

I bought the new issue of "People" magazine. I should have read it at the news stand like I did with the "National Enquirer". I didn't learn anything new about the case that I didn't already learn from these boards.

*respectfully snipped*

Good morning mitzi,

I also read the article and feel the same way regarding the quotes attributed to Rick and JG.They were from past interviews, neighbor is a good guess. imho

Another possibility is George's sister or mother. Very early in this case, George's sister and his mother were at the Anthony home.

On July 16th, it was reported that the Anthony's were waiting for the police to return with Casey (when she led them on a wild goose chase), and monitoring their television as they expected an Amber Alert on Caylee. Someone called the Anthony house and told them to turn to a particular channel as it was being reported that Casey had been arrested. The article stated that at that time, George, Cindy, and George's sister were at the Anthony home.

On July 18th, George and Cindy did their first lengthy interview in their home. In that interview Cindy mentioned that her mother-in-law almost fell coming into the house because of all the media cables strung out across the front yard.

A few days later, George set up a card table at a supermarket parking lot and was passing out flyers. The local media showed George at the card table and a woman with a stack of flyers in her arms. She was identified as George's sister. For a week or two, George's sister was often with him when he set up a card table somewhere.

I would assume that George's sister lives nearby and visited George and Cindy on a regular basis. Like any other family, when there was a crisis, such as this one, she was there at the Anthony home along with George's mother.

(bolded by me)

Cuppy, ITA with this entire post, especially the bolded part.

The A's loved Caylee and Casey. All they ever did was try to help Casey and they were so good to Angel Caylee (who loved them dearly).

Cindy is the one who called the police. She has done some things since Caylee was discovered missing that were nuts and even wrong (the pizza smell, pointing at Jesse), and their family may be very disfunctional....

But what Casey did???

The way I see it, why waste perfectly good anger on anyone else when it could ALL go to Casey?

Good morning Leila,

Thank you for this information, in the beginning of this case i was not paying attention to all the ongoings of everyone. Glad to here that GA family was there for them. They would be another good possibility...

George is in the psych ward because his daughter killed his granddaughter.

All of the news reports seem to be in agreement that he was moved to a regular room a couple of days after admittance.

  • #376
The reason for the moving from this room to that room and from this unit to that unit within a hospital is insurance coverage (or lack of it) and what will be paid for, combined with the patient's current condition.

Are games played? Oh, yes.

I would doubt that George is being hospitalized involuntarily at this point. But I'll bet neither he nor his doctor wants him back in Casa Anthony at this time.

Re; People magazine. I am always amazed that folks have the perception that this publication is so much more "reliable" than others. Actually the National Enquirer has had much more publicly acknowledged credibility in their reporting. Most recently by the editor of the Washington Post IIRC. They scooped many other publications on the John Edwards love child story.

That was what I heard too.

I can see the dysfunction very clearly. However, I don't blame all the problems in the family on CA. I think GA has played a large part in creating the dysfunction in the family. IMO

Absolutely! And IMO because George is the "healthier" of the two he holds a very big part in the dysfunction. He should have taken his children out of that home years ago.

I not sure I agree here, I thought for sure Cindy would end up hospitalized, no way I thought it would be George:blowkiss:

I don't know who provided the information but in any event I don't think it is admirable or honorable for a family member to "blast" Cindy and call her names and use all of the profanities. I believe in taking the "high road". Shirley P. may have not agreed with her daughter but never indulged in such low and cruddy criticism. I am praying for George and Cindy and cannot imagine what they have been going thru -- God be with them.
