People Magazine - Caylee Anthony's Family Secrets

  • #401
LOL...I thought it was Cindy'd bro too....he seems a little strange to me.

Didn't he first go to the WWW (& several blogs/forums) to reveal "family secrets", e-mails,familty photo's & even his phone number as proof it was him. ??

No one had ever heard of him @ that time, lots didn't believe he was Cindys bro.

So yep, I think anyone who reveals "family secrets" on the WWW would also sell their story to any rag mag for the right price.

(however, what I've read about this "people's" story, I now think someone read the docs & prolly WS and it was pieced together.

I think it is the "family secrets" that lead the family down the path of ruination...

Apparently neither George nor Cindy are able to put more value on the truth than the lie.

How many do you know of that was in Cindy's position of both grandmother and mother? I don't think it was easy for Cindy trying to keep everyone looking for her granddaughter while at the same time trying not to help LE build a DP case against her daughter. What parent in their right mind would want to feed LE all the info necessary to put their child to death? I think she was walking a tight-rope caught between the unconditional love of both her daughter and granddaughter.
A difficult position does not give one a license to lie and deceive. What she did by going on these various shows and the media blitzes IS giving LE enough to build a case against her daughter! She fed LE so much via the media that they now have as audio and video evidence. So many things she has said and done will be used as evidence against Casey (inadvertently giving them a trash bag to possibly match to the one Caylee was found inside, for instance).

She should have kept her face off television and out of the media if she could not keep her stories straight. She got her 15 minutes and enjoyed trying to control the press, imo. She played a very risky game and lost.

IMO, any parent that honestly believed that their granddaughter was missing and in imminent danger. Another way to phrase that question would be, "What grandparent would purposely not do everything within their power to aid law enforcement officers that were searching for their missing granddaughter?" KC was an adult and her parents knew where she was and that she was alive. Caylee was a defenseless child. If the grandparents believed she was missing, they did not know whether she was alive, being tortured, being abused, etc. I would assume that the immediate loyalities would lie with the one that was in danger and was too small to protect herself. Telling blatant lies and fabricated stories to the public certainly did nothing to aid those interested in looking for her granddaughter, either. If anything, the lies resulted in Caylee's remains lying in a garbage bag alone for far longer than they may have otherwise been. IMO, unconditional love does not equate covering for one loved one that has harmed another loved one.

hmm if he is such a good family member then why is he profiting off of caylees death ? cuz basically that is what he is doing too .. he shouldve given any and all info to the police for free ..

That's a very good point Zadari. Hate to say it. but in comparison he might be the best family member.

From reading the People article, I got the impression that they aren't quite convinced about George's suicide attempt.

"When George let officers in the room, they discovered two empty pill bottles and a rambling eight page letter, in which Anthony claimed to have swallowed some pills. Except George seemed perfectly lucid-and when brought to the hospital, he told a nurse, "I haven't taken anything," according to one police source.
(I had not heard this before)

But George Anthony's attorney, Brad Conway insists it was a suicide attempt, that George took sleeping pills and blood pressure medication and mixed them with alcohol."

Ahhhh! The PLOT thickens

Couldn't have said it better...that's exactly how I feel about it..

I read that part to LL. I also noted the "Except George seemed perfectly lucid-" statement. Coupled with the fact that we saw GA getting into a car and not an ambulance, well, I hate to say it, but just sayin......

Yep! Reads fishy. Also fishy to me is the part about his attorney BC insisting it was a suicide attempt. Even though he was not there to witness what the police saw or heard, he insists it as a suicide attempt.

Even in a car wreck, when you appear to not be hurt, they sometimes insist on transporting you in an ambulance I guess for legal reasons. It seems to me he would have gone in an ambulance if it was a suicide attempt. Maybe they checked him out well in the room, I don't know this. But it seems a little fishy to me as well. Maybe suicide thoughts, but I'm not sure about the attempts. IMO

Chitwood, the police chief of Daytona is a no-nonsense, shoot from the hip police officer. He came in a few years back and really did some sweeping around these parts. He has a good reputation with the public here.

From his interview the night they picked up George, when he said GA was despondent, I believed him.

I am the first to say that I have not been a supporter of the A's...CA for sure, and the rest. Whether GA took the meds or not, I saw real emotion on the Chief's face and heard it in his voice. I believe him to be a good man, so am trusting that he was truthful in that interview. I would put nothing past the A's at this point....but am going on what I saw in the chief's interview. Also, as far as I know, Halifax will not keep someone longer than the Baker act unless there is a reason to...just my 2c as somewhat of a local.

This may have been addressed, but wasn't there also a 5 page letter in his truck as well? I just broke down and bought the People magazine...the picture on the cover tugged at me.

Somehow I believe that if LE had been called to the tow lot to investigate the decomp filled car, we would not need to discuss this. It would be a slam dunk. Police should have been called there and then. Missing child/decomp smell in car/lying, stealing, sociopathic mother...hmmmmmm.......Report filed, investigation begun, Caylee prob found sooner, more forensic evidence. Why didn't a former homicide detective and Rn call the police then? Why didn't little Caylee's grandparents call then?
Interesting that one of the questions Cindy asked Casey during the Aug. 4th visit was, "Why didn't you get the car?" (or something to that effect). Needless, to say it was one of the questions Casey never answered. To me, it speaks volumes.

I do believe that it was a cry for help of some kind. George needs to talk and have someone listen. I'm sure he's carrying a mighty burden.

I was skeptical of what GA may have taken pill wise (not that I don't believe that he was/is still very upset and despondent) because he wasn't rushed somewhere to have his stomach pumped. I do think when he told the detective that he just wanted to think about things (get away) was true...he had not yet taken a whole lot of pills (jmo...maybe he only took a few) and may or may not have taken his own life after some reflection. I truly believe he is a shell of a man and a person right now. I know that he is depressed. Whether or not any strategy in all of this occurred is certainly up for debate. But do I believe that part of him wanted to die. Sure. Do I think that is why he is being held? Yes. Cuz they can't afford this kind of stay so that means he is being likely treated like an indigent and held because he is still a danger to himself.

I do think he has put all the pieces together and that he can't bare to live with the truth. maybe he also hoped, assuming he actually went through with suicide (the cops didn't track him down), that if he put forth his belief in his daughter's "innocence" in his suicide note that it would have some baring in the case and help her. But there is no way I don't think he doesn't know in his heart and mind that she is innocent.

As far as any kind of ploy for immunity...the state would be dumb as heck to offer it to CA/GA/LA (assuming any type applies for LA) because at this point you can't predict what they will and won't say. Or even try to claim they did the crime after being offered the immunity.

Not much a fan of CA at all. But I do think that this is not a ploy on GA's part. I think he is emotionally destroyed. What sent him completely over the edge? Likely, coming to the conclusion that 99.9% of us have: that his daughter, with intent and malice, killed her own daughter and dumped her remains like trash near their home.

I imagine all of this is so very hard on Shirley P. as I have read her interviews and she seems like such a nice lady and I know she has her husband in a Nursing Home. I also did not think it was at all honorable of Rick P. to blast Cindy with all of the name calling that he engaged in. I guess family dynamics can be so very complicated. I hope and pray that despite all of these heartaches, that somehow and someway, the family will find peace.

Am I the only one curious about why the labels on the pill bottles found in the trash were removed and when they were removed?
