What happened?
Pepperidge Farm has been notified by one of its ingredient suppliers that whey powder in a seasoning that is applied to four varieties of crackers has been the subject of a recall by the whey powder manufacturer due to the potential presence of Salmone

There is also a recall on 16 varieties of Ritz Cracker Sandwiches and Ritz Bits. The products contain whey powder, which its supplier has recalled due to the potential presence of salmonella.

What products are affected?

Some Ritz Cracker products recalled over possible salmonella risk

The first article says the products were recalled by the whey product manufacturer. Assuming this is where the contamination happened, affecting both cracker companies. Who is the whey product manufacturer? Where are they located? These days, I'm very careful about avoiding food products made overseas or with ingredients made overseas. So many manufacturers in third and second world countries don't allow health inspections. Same thing applies to pharma manufacturers in India and China. US inspectors are not allowed in their facilities.

From last week:

The possibility of salmonella in an ingredient caused Flowers Foods to recall Swiss rolls sold nationwide under several brands, including the house brands of Walmart, Food Lion and H-E-B.

Also, recalled is Captain John Derst’s Old Fashioned Bread, a product sold in Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama and Georgia.

OT/Related: Pepperidge Farm Parmesan Goldfish were my go-to snack for many years. Alas! I developed lactose intolerance and could no longer enjoy them without taking Lactaid. Bummer

Pinnacle Foods recalled 15.25-ounce Hungry Man Chipotle BBQ Sauced Boneless Chicken Wyngz with a best buy date of Sept. 6, 2019.

The recalled frozen microwavable dinners have the establishment number “EST. P138” or “P-138” on the package. They were shipped to retailers in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Virginia”

Indeed. I will never forget the “contaminated wheat gluten from China” appearing in soooo many major pet food brands which sickened and killed many pets.

I got a call from Smith's about my Goldfish being recalled. It was while my Mom and I were drinking Champagne and eating Goldfish.
