Did he drive her car afterwards? My gosh, he was brazen!

That's the report. But this is all breaking news - so we should take it with a grain of salt. I wanna think - can he be that stoopid?

MOO

Mel

I think if Joran is trying to escape the hotel as quickly as possible, he would do just about anything to get away.

Early on JR pretended to befriend Beth and at one point told Beth that Natalie's body had been found. Beth raced to the location expecting to find her daughter. It's thought that this was a diversion to cover something that was happening in another location.

I'll just say it, with MOO's til the cows come home, she was in somebody's pocket. Maybe still is.

MOO MOO MOO with a side of MOO.

NG: the more we covered NH case, the HIGHER the tourism rate went for Aruba!

Hi, Patty G.! An official not only not on the scene, but not on the continent is not a reliable source for information. CNN has been reporting that Van Der Sloot entered the hotel with the young woman at five a.m Sunday. I see nothing about him checking out. If he did murder her, it would have been insane for him to have formally checked out.

Yes, I am aware that an official not on the scene or even in the same country is not a reliable source for information. That is why I asked if this information was released in the media that the body was found at 10:00 PM on Tuesday evening and Joran "checked out" on Sunday at 8:00 AM or so on Sunday.

IMO, anyone in the USA reporting on the happenings in Peru has to be taken as it is because no one in the US has a clue.

I am shocked, this is the first I have heard of NG coverage giving Aruba tourist rates a boost. That's sickening.

Peruvian media is now saying that he took a cab (!) while crossing the border to Arica

A cab? Wow - I'm beginning to think we're being fed like fish. When info comes from another country, you can bet we're not getting all (or correct) information.

I'm sure more will come out in the days to come, but right now all the talking heads are trying to get to the top of the story.

Not saying it's not true, just that my hinky meter is on overdrive.

Hugz,

Mel

US "news" shows will report anything they hear, no matter the source, I am convinced. Doesn't matter if it completely contradicts the last thing they said. I am waiting this one out...he may have left Peru on a burro, for all we know.

I thought it was hotel Tac in the Miraflores District (the hotel was not named Miraflores). Maybe I'm confused.

Peru has 3 judges. No Jury. No dp. Hopefully this is bye bye Joran for life.

I haven't read this whole thread yet.........trying to catch up, but I just caught Bill O'Reilly and Greta Van Susteran talking about this case. O'Reilly says he's confident Interpol will catch him and Peru exercises the death penalty for murder.

Greta said she's been on the phone with Beth Holloway...........I'm not sure, but I think Greta plans on covering this on her program tonight.

Bill O'Reilly is repeated in a couple of hours on Fox News to catch his report.

Bill O'Reilly hasn't done his research. They don't have the death penalty in Peru. They also won't extradite someone if they are facing the death penalty elsewhere.

He also mentioned a three-judge panel to decide JVDS fate, with him being on trial as a foreign national ~ quite a difference from Aruba. :behindbar

Hi, Patty G., I apologize if my email read like a personal putdown. It wasn't intended that way. I've always enjoyed your posts.

I think that international news sources like CNN are worthy of more trust than, say, random bloggers or tabloid news source.

You're right. I've now read that he took a cab, bus, his own car and the victims car. All the rumours..
