Where are you guys getting this report of him getting his 2 cups of coffee "to go?" When I first saw mention of the 2 cups of coffee they made it sound like he went to a coffee shop and drank his coffees there.
From this article at this website:
http://www.trome.com/tonline/Html/2010-06-02/ontractualidad1092456.html

"A las 8 de la mañana, el sujeto salió del hotel y compró dos tazas de café en un supermercado de la zona. Retornó al cuarto y a las 8:40 se retiró con una mochila y una maleta de mano. 'Ya regreso', le habría dicho a un empleado"

"At 8 am, the subject left the hotel and bought two cups of coffee at a local supermarket. He returned to the room at 8:40 and retired with a rucksack and hand luggage. 'I'll be back', reportedly told an employee."

He left the hotel, came back with two cups of coffee, left some time later and 'said' he would be back. He left in the victim's jeep and moved it about 50 blocks, then got a ride to the border somehow.

Wouldn't his DNA be found in her jeep??? How would he explain HIS being in HER vehicle...and DRIVING it???..If he denies knowing/meeting her.

...Wouldn't there be survillence camera around where she was parked?? Was she parked in his hotel garage??.If so, there is usually survellience cameras around...Why would he Move her vehicle..if he claims..someone ELSE killed her

It was all in a panic don't ya know! No really, he will not be able to squirm out of this one as long as the video cameras at the hotel were working ok.

IMO this guy has serial killer tendencies. He seeks out single women, who are out late. I also find it strange that both murders happened approximately five years apart. I wonder if there were others, we don't know about?

Here's a link to my post from late last night w/ article from Peru news media about his actions at the hotel. Hope it helps explain what's been reported there about the crime.

I have followed Joran closely these past 5 years. He went and got coffee simply because Joran wanted coffee. He got two cups for himself. I do it all the time traveling because #1, the coffee is usually weaker than I like it and #2 the bigger cups get cold faster than 2 smalls and are more difficult to handle.

I don't see anything exculpatory about Joran leaving the scene as he did. How could he dispose of the body or anything else for that matter? He could have been noticed transporting the body. Is in a foreign land so he wouldn't know any good dump sites. He doesn't have anyone to help him etc. My guess is that he spent some time on his cell phone trying to figure out how to get out quick and where to go, etc., before he actually left.

Why'd he take a taxi?? It was the quickest way to get where he needed to go.

K.I.S.S.

I think Joran is done for once he is placed in the general population of the jail. As horrific as it sounds, I have no problem with that.

She knew about him. Her cousin was on the Today Show this morning and was asked about a conversation he and Stephany had. He said she saw a show about him, maybe a month ago, asked him what he thought about. The cousin blew off the topic.

I think her curiosity was peeked.

Don't believe any knowledge of who VDS actually was. SR's Miami cousin on The Today Show makes reference to his friend, who once VDS's name became known, immediately knew who VDS was because she (his friend) recalled seeing a program about VDS.

Only have this video handy, but must be one on station's site:

http://www.aolnews.com/crime/articl...-to-blame-cousin-of-peru-victim-says/19501701

In video, SR's cousin in Miami says that SR never mentioned him (VDS).
Additionally, SR's cousin says that she (Miami cousin's friend) had seen a special about the crime (about a month ago) that VDS committed, or allegedly committed, five years ago. And she (his friend) was shocked by it.

Hi, Betty P. The borrowing stories seem to be true.

It's also true that according to at least one gambling news site that he was a fairly successful online poker gambler. The website mentioned two of his monikers.

Of course, gamblers both win and lose.

He was staying at a rather upscale hotel.

BBM ~ I'm confused about the hotel. I thought I read that he was staying at a hostile type hotel that runs about US$30. a night. If so, that would account for why there was no daily maid service. Those type of places change out the room once or twice a week. I read he checked in on May 13 or 14, long enough ago to know the routine.

Did the murder take place at this same hotel - the one he'd been staying at all along?

Wow, Google translation can be very interesting and confusing. It seems gender is often mis-translated ie., he is used instead of she, etc. Am I interpreting this correctly that $5,000 was stolen that she had won in the poker game? :waitasec:

I think he brought back 2 cups of coffee into the hotel to fool staff that he had ONE for his guest, which they were fully aware off. Little did they know she was already dead.

Biggest tragedy here is that if Aruba had done their job ... a life could have been saved

If he cannot produce a body, Natalies, I say let him rot in Peru, he is a liar so I would not believe a word he says about Natalie I just woke up and found he has been captured, Bout time!! Good job Chile LE tho:)

I say, let him rot in prison in Peru. IMO Her remains can not be recovered...and really...what difference does it make if her bones are recovered, it won't change anything.

The only thing that would shock me in this case and I would then agree to let him serve time in Aruba is if Natalee is produced alive, held as a sex slave somewhere the last five years. If he could produce a living breathing Natalee...I'll cut him some slack.

It hasn't been reported that anyone saw him return with the 2 cups of coffee. How could he be sure someone would see him return with the coffee and then actually remember it? If he had stopped staff or brought attention to himself with the coffee so they would remember it --then I would consider that, but that hasn't been reported at all.

The people he bought the coffee from would remember that he bought two cups of coffee.

[/B]

The website of the Hotel Tac says the price of a room/suite is $30-$50. Another states the environment as a hostel. So I don't think there's any upscale to it except a staircase or elevator. Just sayin...

Phil Keating (Fox) has been reporting from the hotel. He described it as a cheap hostel $30 a night.

I hope Interpol takes a look at his travels the past 5 years, and any missing or murdered young women in the same locales. Scary to think he could be a Ted Bundy on an international scale.

Bolded by me...I know I watch a lot of CSI..and have this thought..If He strangled her, broke her neck, etc...wouldn't his skin cells be on her neck? skin cell DNA? touch DNA??..anyone know?? thanks

I would think it would be there. Not sure if he could wipe that off. Maybe his DNA or print in a blood smear? Dead ringer. What about the clothes he had on when doing the dirty deed? Were they there or did he discard, burn them? Unless he was bare $$$ naked. As someone mentioned earlier...they will take the tub and sink drain apart and test for blood there too. I think they are overwhelmed with evidence. jmo

Hi, thanks for your note. I too am confused about hotel. I thought that the hotel he stayed at was not justel a hostel. Apparently I was wrong. To me, your suggestion about the room cleaning sounds reasonable.

I would think that in the mind of a killer he would be aware of every step he makes. The 2 cups of coffee trick was to make the hotel staff think that everything was OK, and that he was just going away for a day while his guest used the room.
