LIMA, Peru — He was the last person to see two young women alive — one in Aruba, one in Peru exactly five years later, police say. Joran van der Sloot was caught in a taxi Thursday, several days drive and a country away from the Lima hotel room where the second woman was found face down with a broken neck.
A fixture on TV true-crime shows after Natalee Holloway's disappearance in Aruba, the 22-year-old Dutchman did not speak or even turn his head when photographers shouted his name as Chilean police officers escorted him, without handcuffs, into a Santiago police office for questioning.
Aruban authorities didn't prosecute van der Sloot even after he was caught on video saying he had asked a friend to dump Holloway's body. The Alabama woman's family was outraged by how Aruban authorities handled the case, and now the family of another young woman wants to make sure they get justice.

Wow. He could face extortion charges from America (and lynch mobs if he dared to set foot here), Aruba and his fellow Dutchmen probably hate him right now, Chile sure acts like they want him OUT of their country, and Peru can't wait to get their hands on him and make him pay for murdering one of their countrymen. And I'm sure other countries he's visited probably wouldn't let him back inside their borders now.

It's amazing and incredible that one person could pi** off so many countries. Holy cow. That Peru prison might be the safest place for him.

And extorting money from the mother of his previous victim, then using that money to go to Peru and murder someone on the anniversary of the death of his previous victim. That has got to be one of the coldest things I've ever heard of. My God, I sincerely hope Beth is okay, and I sincerely hope that wasn't her money that got wired. What a monster. What he did is worse than Casey Anthony telling her mother Happy Mother's Day in court.

He needs to never be out in the world EVER again. I shudder at how evil he is. And his parents just let him run around the world with plenty of money (at least until his dad died)? WTF were they thinking? Were they just praying he wouldn't do anything bad? That has to be the most irresponsible parenting I've ever heard of, and I thought the Anthony's were the worst...

At least it seems mommy cut him off at some point this year...he should have been cut off a loooooooooooong time ago, especially before he learned how to scam it from other people. No point in cutting him this late when he could just get it from others, even murder them for it!

I really hope there's no loophole here, no freaking way he can get away this time. I will lose my mind if that happens and more people will surely die...and he is the poster child for and solid proof of the fact that throwing money at your ill behaved child DOES NOT solve their problems, it only creates more...
