I posted it everywhere I go and sent out a bulletin on MySpace. Is there any way to contact the media and see if Channel 9,6 or 2 can add it to the news cast? Has that been tried?

I just noticed that the links were parsed in the quote you have there. I've had a lot of trouble with the auto-parsing of links and had to re-do that info several times; delete posts; to get the links right to copy. I'm sure you're double checking when you post the info anywhere, but am writing to remind everyone to double check, please, when you post the link anywhere, to make sure it works.

crap so what do I do to fix it? I'm not sure what you mean when you say parsed?

  • #223
I signed just in case!

Only 40 signatures today. Ive posted it everywhere I can think of... Facebook, myspace, Craigslist etc....

If everyone posts it on Craigslist under rants and raves, we will get a bunch more. You can only post once per email for 45 days or else I would have posted again....

I have LOTS of email addy's. ;)

Sorry, Samijean; missed your question.

<smacking own hand>
<smacking keyboard too>

Ok, a link is something like this:

www . SomethingOrAnotherToMakeThisAPrettyLongLink . com

When a link is automatically parsed here at good ol' WS, that same link will look more like this:

www . Someth...nother . com

It will still work when you click on it here at WS; but if you copy it to paste it somewhere else, then what you paste somewhere else is only the 2nd example and it doesn't have all the letters you need.

Most of the time the parsing, or shortening of a link, is a great thing. We've all seen urls that are a paragraph long. That's a waste of space and kind of confusing, as a rule. BUT, to copy a link to paste it somewhere else, you need to have the full address, not the parsed url.

Hope that explains it, and didn't just muddle it more. ;)

OT, I just got back from Target, I was curious about the whole ck thing. Purchased several items. Used one of my husbands business checks, that I am not on... They asked for my DL, which I havent changed to my married name... And I was shocked they didnt even question it... A female using a business ck, who's name is not on the acct. and I signed it my maiden name....I found that scary.

Well, if you were wearing a skanky/sloppy tank top with your bra straps hanging out all over and some sloppy short-shorts, they probably assumed you were the CEO. :)

It's very, very scary how lax Target is on loss prevention. If I was a stock holder, I'd be pitching a fit about it. That's ridiculous.

To help others post at other places, here is some info to copy and paste:

Please sign the petition located here:

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/lifetime-should-not-pay-for-a-movie-about-caylee-anthony

Here's one of the media stories on it:

http://www.cfnews13.com/News/Local/2008/9/27/petition_protests_possible_movie_deal_on_caylee.ht ml

And David Lohr supports it:

http://blogs.discovery.com/criminal_report/2008/09/casey-anthony-t.html

I know it says "Lifetime" but it's directed at all media.

PLEASE post this everywhere!!

After posting at another website, please be sure the links work! Sometimes they do not copy correctly, so a quick check will make sure the message is getting out.

I think it is important to note, this petition is NOT specifically for just Lifetime. The letter that is attached to the petition states:

To Any media outlet trying to profit from the death of Caylee Anthony:

We the undersigned will not stand for any media outlet buying the Casey Anthony story from the Anthony Family before the full conclusion of this case and Caylee is brought home.

Thank you

JB has stated on numerous occassions that he has had several offers that he puts into a file... The point of this petition is to make sure his entire folder is worthless! Lifetime just happen to be the first media outlet that was specifically mentioned!!

This bears repeating.

I agree and do note that when posting elsewhere and in the list I keep bumping. Another reminder, please, everyone, check the links after you post them elsewhere to make sure they work!

Does anyone have a link to an article in national media about the petition? Like Fox or Cnn, I'm thinking. TIA

  • #236
I dont believe national media picked it up. It's on National media blogs.

Craigslist is working, I noticed states I posted in are picking up.
So if we can get it posted to every state/country Rant and Rave's we should pick up

Thanks anyway. I thought I had read recently about CNN picking it up. Can't remember where though. S'ok. I had enough without it.

I used a bit of simple html on a Craigslist entry and will try posting below so others can copy and paste it to their own entry, if they'd like. I didn't even do the breaks, they were auto. Click here to see it on Craigslist:

http://annarbor.craigslist.org/rnr/876267434.html

If anyone has any suggestions on how it could be improved, please let me know. I'm particularly interested in a 'catchy' headline. TIA

Here's the html for anyone to copy to their own Craigslist or other entry that uses the same:

Over 5000 people and counting have signed a petition asking the media to <b><i>not</i></b> pay Blood Money to the family of Caylee Anthony. After the rumored payout of $200,000 from ABC 20/20, the talk of a $2,000,000 deal with Lifetime was just too much for anyone who supports Justice for Caylee. So this petition was created to give all of us a chance to tell the media what we think about it.

I posted it on a couple of Orlando forums. A realtor replied and said he/she would pass it on.
