Petition Lifetime

JB has stated that he has received multiple offers, and has filed them. He is banking on those offers to pay his fees and expenses. The Letter attached to the petition makes it clear,

To Any media outlet trying to profit from the death of Caylee Anthony:

We the undersigned will not stand for any media outlet buying the Casey Anthony story from the Anthony Family before the full conclusion of this case and Caylee is brought home.

Thank you

It is not specific to Lifetime although that is the first rumor to go around, hence the tag line.

Personally I dont think anyone should post WS. I have my own opinion and it doesn't involve WS. Im my own person and have my own opinion I wouldn't drag someone else or WS in my own believe. Thats just me:) JMO
Especially since there are so many differing opinions on this site. Not everyone at WS stands behind what any particular petition is stating.

In regards to my last post, I would hope that everyone at WS agrees with this but still a good rule of thumb to sign our own names and not the name of a web sleuthing group. JMO.

I completely agree with you .. why anyone would post anything regarding Websleuths is beyond me.. if anything it would be http://www.cfnews13.com/News/ that is put down as to where you heard of/found the petition..

Hi Guys,

The confusion is my fault.

We have a hard and fast rule that we don't start "petitions" or "protests" without approval first.

I have been MIA due to a death in the family and my son is sick.

The mods did the right thing by moving this thread, however, since it is a news story I feel it is now in a different category.

I am not opposed to petitions or protests but if someone on WS is going to use WS to start one of these items they need approval first. That's all.

Carry on my friends,

Tricia

Sorry for your loss. Sending cyber-comfort to you and your family.

Excellent news on the petition! Thank you!!

Yes, it's true that they have all denied the movie deal... but personally, I don't believe any of em.. I think JB is counting on books and movies to make him a STAR... and wouldn't put anything past that little weasel. JMO

Agree and even if the Lifetime story is bogus, perhaps getting the exposure it's getting on the web and now a local news outlet, the petition may discourage any future deals with them or other entities.

I didn't read Tricia's comments to be an endorsement or permission to associate Websleuths with the petition. She merely gave authorization for this thread to stand as a news story, if I understood it all correctly.

We're all very proud of this forum and many would like to mention it wherever they post. However, as has been pointed out, one poster cannot speak for an entire forum and though motivated with good intentions, should not use the websleuth name without admin approval, again, if I understood correctly.

I started the petition and have the ability to delete any posts. I never meant to anger anyone!! If you wish I will be happy to delete any post that includes WS or WebSlueths on it.

I meant well and will send it to anyone who offers the Anthony's money for their story as Baez stated. I think it is wrong beyond belief! I never imagined it would get this much attention and I never imagined that news stations would be contacting me about it.

Let me know if this is WS wishes and it will be done.

I would also like to clarify, whether you post your name or anonymous, no one sees your email address including myself. It is provided so that when the petition is mailed to the intended you will get an email letting you know. If you didnt check for updates or the other options you will get no other email other than a Thank you for signing. No one is selling your info and you will not be spammed. Just thought I'd let you know....

Over 3200 on the petition now! WTG everyone!

Thanks to you, Tricia!!! We must ensure that people do not capitalize on the innocent!

I signed. 3500 sigs and counting...

I read that someone had already contacted Lifetime and they denied there was any movie deal with any of them. The Anthonys attorney also stated he had no knowledge of any deals for movies or books. Since he is the attorney, I'm sure he would be informed of it so as to look over any contract.

And ABC initially denied paying for the 20/20 piece then they stated they paid for pix's and video's. Who owns Lifetime? Disney/ABC and what else do they own?

I am not saying the "A" family has a contract or are involved at all in such a deal. There are many ways to set up companies to handle future deals such as movies, books, etc. I have heard some people actually own dummy corporations or other entities to get around the obvious.

As for the "A's" atty, he is their atty, and why would he share info with us, he first is a HIGH PROFILE PR- HIGH PROFILE DEFENSE............. attorney and I am sure he is representing the Anthony's from the goodness of his heart. I do not think money would factor into his thinking at all.

my family was involved in a very high-profile crime case (our side=victim) a while ago and lifetime didn't offer us anything to make the movie they made. in fact, they did it against our will and without our cooperation. it was horrible, to say the least. they didn't end up using our real names though, maybe they would have had to pay us to use them, though we wouldn't have agreed to that either.

i wonder why they are offering her money if that isn't their usual policy, or if it has to do with wanting to use real info and not 'based on true story' stuff.
