Photo Adjustment Thread - "Wheel Well/Trunk Evidence"

  • #61
Looks like a stuffed toy to me,but I am a mad Englishwoman:confused:

LE may have picked up the stuffed animal for the searchers so they have something with Caylee's scent.

The webcam thread is indicating that LE asked for something with Caylee's scent and the As refused, but maybe they gave them the stuffed animal, after all.

i sorta~kinda~sorta had an inkling when i made my 'gun theory' post last night that the only thing that would send them out at almost 3am to look in the car would be just that.... I don't think she [KC] knew it was in there tho....(?) has anyone reported any diff yet or as to who called it in or anything? I just got back & I'm playing catch-up here.... lol [man - u guys wrote like 500 pgs since I was on yesterday!!] lol

Wouldn't it be something if that was the missing BlackJack phone that the CSI is holding?

I thought it's a cell phone too, but hubby thinks it's a gun.

Just don't see how it can be an elbow. I blew both up and the one on the right isn't even shaped like an elbow would be. But it definately looks like a candy cane hanging.

ANYWAY it's all moot. Apparently it wasn't anything instrumental to the case anyway since gun wins over teddy any day of the week!

Didn't they say they found Christmas wrapping paper in one of the trunks? Maybe it is a candy cane. I do some photo restoration work for newspapers and I don't think that's an elbow. Looks like she has the teddy bear tucked under her left arm.

I have to doubt it's evidence if she isn't wearing gloves, though. They'd want to preserve any evidence of fingerprints. I think it's either her cell or a flashlight in her right hand.

Also, the white area: if you look below where the white stops, there is no material there. Also, look to the right of the top and you'll see a dark shadow or separation between it and the shirt. My guess is it's an object not her shirt front.

  • #67
If you look at the position of her thumb and index finger, it sure looks cylindrical, perhaps a camera of some type used to photograph evidence and document it before it's removed?

  • #68
Bringing this over from the other thread so you can see the position of her arm/hand and see better that it's not a stuffed animal

That must be a really deformed armed and she has an awful skin disease to boot!

I'm sure that they did take a gun out of the car but I'd bet that wasn't all they took.

But they can only take what they have permission to take in the search warrant, right?

Seems like if had been a gun that was not evidence, but only being removed for safety's sake, then why would they have put it in what looks like the evidence bags they have used in the past. I didn't see any LE "source" that verified that it was a gun. Did I miss it?

News 13 has learned a gun was taken from the home of the grandparents of missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony early Saturday morning.

http://www.cfnews13.com/News/Local/2008/9/6/evidence_taken_from_george_anthony39s_car.html

The rules say you aren't supposed to have a fire arm on the premises. Do you know how many people on probabtion go back to jail because their roommate had beer or a gun?

The stupid parents who want to keep their kid out of jail could have just blown it for her...and added charges to her list! Way to go, GA and CA!

sigh.... SOmeone allready posted that they allready said it was a gun. I would like to see the link for that but that aside.....

It is msot likely a gun, She is probalby a lefty and if you ever worked a semi automatic 9mm or 45 you would hold it safely sideways like that to remove the clip. Never put a loaded weapon into an evidence bag! She could also be adjusting the slide to remove one from the chamber (or check the chamber)

you are NOT seeing her elbow that would put her hand way beyond the other hand it is the BACK of her wrist as it is wrapped around the but of the gun performing one of those functions mentioned above. her elbow is raised and hidden by the bag, the other officer is probably holding that bag trying to block the view of the camera.

Wow, lots of replies since I was gone... hi e1!! :blowkiss:

After looking at the photos again as I read through the replies, I think that the gun is already in the bag based on the creases/shadows and how light the bag appears to be (as opposed to being chocks in there). JMO. I think it's her personal cell phone in her right hand, especially since she's not wearing gloves. It's not really important, anyway, I suppose. We'll find out everything sooner or later.

My guess is that he may have assumed that having the gun locked up and outside the home would be sufficient to meet the bond conditions.
oops.

:blowkiss: SieSie
Oh, I get what you're saying - like he thought he was doing a good thing by keeping his gun (legally owned, I would assume?) outside the house & locked in the car because Casey would be inside the home and have access. I hadn't even considered that - I just thought he was trying to hide it and figured he should've been smarter than that. Thanks for your side - your view makes more sense!! :D and :blowkiss:

Good point!! It doesn't appear to be a design on the front of her shirt, after all (IMO). Oh, and welcome to WS, Reality Orlando!! :D

I have looked at the pic on here and blew it up myself.. it looks like a cell phone and I agree a teddy bear.. My husband pointed out that if the gun was in the teddy bear, then they would of hauled caseys butt to jail because that would mean they hid it on purpose..

I am still not sure what the "teddy bear" looking item is, but I do not think it is a teddy bear. I think the black item in the red-shirted officer's hand is the flashlight that the dark-haired female officer was using when they initially searched the car. In the video linked below, you see the flash light in the dark-haired female officer's hand (about 06 seconds) up until you see she same dark-haired female officer carrying a brown paper bag (18-20 seconds). I think the film is edited and at some point, the red-shirted officer takes the flashlight. The "candy cane" item is the red-shirted officer's name tag - which is clearly visible in the video below at about 04 seconds. I still want to know what that dang teddy bear thing is. It is probably an artifact, and not relavant to this case, but I believe it is like exercising. This is what WE DO!!! Honestly, the skills acquired from scrutinizing pictures like this are enourmously helpful when there is video of a hostage situation with grainy images, or of some one at an ATM machine using a victims card - remember Eve Carson. SieSie is perhaps one of the best on the net at analyzing photographs like this. Most of us do not have official degrees in law enforcement, but I would be willing to place a lot of the hard core long-timers here on WebSleuths with seasoned investigators when it comes to analyzing evidence, and smelling a rat when one is stinking. I sort of look at what we do, as a "home study" course in modern investigation techniques. The Eve Carson case comes to mind again - people here at WebSleuths saw someone in the back of that car WAY before it was announced in mainstream media - in fact - it was almost immediately after the release of the ATM video. OK.... I am done with apologizing for why I am obsessing over a teddy bear object that isn't a teddy bear. If you are reading this, you already understand and are obsessing too!

I think it's a revolver. Looks like we are looking at the hammer end - barrel facing away from camera - tech is holding the grip in her right hand and probably removing live ammunition (bullets) from the cylinder with her left hand.

  • #77
Looks like a stun gun to me ... in her hand. No clue as to what's in the bag.

  • #78
The stuff animal could've been something with Caylee's scent to give to TES? Stupid family won't even do that much to help find Caylee

Wow, I'm very flattered that you would say that, Reannan, but it's really not true, LOL!! I just know how to enlarge images and adjust the sharpness and stuff - I have no experience "analyzing" photographs and all my graphic work has been self-taught through the years by just experimenting. Thank you for the compliment, but I definitely don't deserve it.

I thought it was a gun at first, but she would never touch a gun with bare hands. NO ONE is that stupid.

The more I look at it the more it looks like my blackberry.
